They deleted what I considered a valid thread because a few people failed to understand the point of it and chose to overreact and get offended instead. Perhaps I should try and remove any thread I disagree with? How do I go about doing that?

Just what I was thinking anyfucker - you said it perfectly!

reelingintheyears · 06/09/2011 23:09

Okie Dokie...

BOTH

rushelle · 06/09/2011 23:10

yabu just like you were before.

Columbia999 · 06/09/2011 23:10

It's a bit late to start trying to reclaim the word, and why would anyone want to?

Northernlurkerr · 06/09/2011 23:11

Robot - I think you'll find that people in general find child abuse repugnant even without a media furore to urge them on. People in general also possess a basic sensitivity and an ability to discern when a discussion may hurt the vulnerable. Those same people then shut up and apply their desire for intellectual argument elsewhere. You're not one of those people are you?

AnyFucker · 06/09/2011 23:11

Lorem...there is a tentative word forming for such people elsewhere on MN...Sensitive Topic Derailers or STD's for short

fitting, what ?

Thingumy · 06/09/2011 23:11

Didn't see the original thread but get the gist. Isn't the point that the OP is missing that paedophiles themselves use the literal meaning of the word as a badge of honour? That they regard their sick and terrifying perversion as "child loving" and that as a result the innocent original meaning of the word is now lost forever, so not really any point in debating the rights and wrongs of that loss. It's not just a word, it's a concept now. OP needs to learn how to think, not just spout the sort of immature crap that teenagers come out with.

MissVerinder · 06/09/2011 23:13

A full moon?

No wonder my cats are scrapping.

AnyFucker · 06/09/2011 23:13

using STD circumvents that other word that gets your post deleted

this thread will go anyway, so we can call it what we want, tbh Grin

scuzy · 06/09/2011 23:14

genuis AnyFucker.... OP is an STD!

AryaStark · 06/09/2011 23:15

Actually I'm not. I don't care at all because your POV is really very boring indeed so I'm going out for a cigarette and then I'll probably read "Damn You Autocorrect" to see if DH has put teh text from me suggesting "a celebratory buckfest" (wft Steve? What was wrong with breakfast FFS) on there.

Then I'm going to have a massively passionate coupling with the person I fancy the pants off of and have access to every day - legally! No stalking or trolling or otherwise underhanded means. And Shock I'm not the only MNer in this position.

Have a nice evening Mr ShitAtGreek Smile

Love from Ayra x

AnyFucker · 06/09/2011 23:16

I cannot take the credit for it Grin

I may even have got it slightly wrong, I would have to trawl a very long thread in Feminism to find the original reference, but this will do Grin

robotlollypopman · 06/09/2011 23:16

A lot of you didn't even see the original thread. If you had, you'd have seen that a lot of people agreed with me. One mum even called it the thread of that day. This reminds me of the Ross/Brand situation where more people complained than actually heard it.

Gosh, Arya is fabulously random. Me likey Grin

LoremIpsum · 06/09/2011 23:18

I saw it, it made me think of that weird Dutch politcal party of a few years ago who wanted paedophilia to be understood and accepted and ok.

Northernlurkerr · 06/09/2011 23:18

How do you know what people have read? Thsi website has far more lurkers than posters.

The number of people who consider you to be a twat is therefore likely to be alarmingly large.

scuzy · 06/09/2011 23:18

i did see it

still stand by my opinion

and how do you know in what context "thread of the day" was meant? may have been because that poster laughed so much at the complete and utter shite she was reading!

robotlollypopman · 06/09/2011 23:18

Perhaps I'll go there in future. AIBU is full of bullies who want blood.

AnyFucker · 06/09/2011 23:19

I saw it, robot. A lot of people will have since it was a trending thread.

Get you, comparing yourself to a celebrity Grin

scuzy · 06/09/2011 23:19

boo fuckin hoo!

rushelle · 06/09/2011 23:19

I saw it and still think yabu. Infact yabvu.
