....and furthermore, to find the term 'mummy blogger' excruciating? Genuinely wondering if it's just me.

I find most blogs unbelievably self indulgent. So I don't read blogs. Except my sister writes about three of the things. And she's constantly badgering me to read them. They are just as boring, self indulgent, waffly and badly written as most other blogs I've read. She herself follows three hundred blogs. Why anyone would want to read three hundred blogs I have no idea!

Grin

I love Luv and Hat as well. Very good for life wastage.

I have BOOKMARKS on my IPAD of BLOGS and I read them in bed INSTEAD OF HAVING SEX.

(I've got a sore throat today, I shouldn't be shouting at all - not even via keyboard)

Hullygully · 01/07/2011 09:45

I don't know about bookmarks. Are they good?

Hullygully · 01/07/2011 09:45

No one has sex anyway, who can be arsed?

ShirleyKnot · 01/07/2011 09:45

click on Luv and Hat. Do it. Do it. It is HILARE.

Hullygully · 01/07/2011 09:49

nonononononononononononononono

all my life is becoming virtual.

Violet5 · 01/07/2011 10:05

I love blogging Smile
I couldn't care less if anyone else finds it self indulgent, boring crap. I never ask anyone else to read it, i never give out the address unless anyone actually asks me for it.
I write it because i find it cathartic some days, because yes i don't get out much, i'm actually unable to get out much. I post some pics because my family who live 400 miles away love seeing them as i don't do facebook. I don't have a hobby as such so for now blogging is kind of my hobby. I don't know why people slate it, it is no more a waste of time than baking (less calories Smile or going for a run. If doing something makes you feel good then where's the harm in it, why pick on blogging or peoples blogs. No one makes you read them.
I read an assortment of blogs, some because i'm more interested in real peoples lives than celebrities i have nothing in common with, some because i like seeing what people have made and some because i like seeing where people have been at the weekend or on holiday and if it looks somewhere i might like to visit etc.
I'd rather read a blog than certain magazines any day, just MY preference though, don't think it's reasonable to slate other's for theirs.

greencolorpack · 01/07/2011 10:15

My Dh writes a criminally boring blog. And yet he has loads of female fans on there waving their cheerleader pompoms telling him how great he is. I post from Mrs, so they know he's married, and pour scorn on everything he posts.

shadowmoon · 01/07/2011 10:17

the term mummyblogger makes me want to heave tbh.

Hullygully · 01/07/2011 10:19

SpringHeeledJack · 01/07/2011 10:38

I have had the most fabulous idea whilst pegging out washing

Hully- please write a blog, oh doooo

it would be utterly brilliant. I for one would scrub all the dull blogs off my favourites and read yours instead

Hullygully · 01/07/2011 10:45

SHJ - it would be like Twitter, tho. I signed up to that and then foudn I had nowt to say. What could I blog about? Another day pissed away on MN. Now that's a good idea. Or I could do a blog about my Theories and change the world. Hoh yes.

greencolorpack · 01/07/2011 10:46

Shirley and Hully, I'm anonymous on here for a reason, so I can't link to something that has my husband's name and my children's pictures and my pictures etc. You ain't seen me, right? paranoid

ShirleyKnot · 01/07/2011 10:48

Sad green.

OK, fair do's.

SpringHeeledJack · 01/07/2011 10:48

but you would be without limits on a blog

[slightly frightened]

ShirleyKnot · 01/07/2011 10:49

Hully should do a blog SHJ, I agreeeeee.

Hullygully · 01/07/2011 10:49

I don't know how to do it

greencolorpack · 01/07/2011 10:49

The thing about blogs is, it's out there in the world. How many people have been sacked for slagging off their workplace/boss? You write a blog in the style of a private intimate diary and then complete strangers read it. It's as counterintuitive as getting undressed in front of a big open window when you're not actually a prostitute working in Amsterdam. Diaries, people, quill and parchment, that's where to put your most secret and intimate thoughts! And you can get away with being politically incorrect in a diary without the world having a hissy fit. And you can write about people you fancy without anyone coming along and reminding you you're supposed to be married, it's the best. I've been diary writing since early teens, and I think it's great. I did try blogging but couldn't square the circle of being private and public at the same time.

Hullygully · 01/07/2011 10:49

I looked at yours Shirl

Hullygully · 01/07/2011 10:50

yeah. wot green said. altho I do think my theories need a wider audience. I could create a giant circle of love and make love batons the weapon of choice.

Hullygully · 01/07/2011 10:51

your profile is dead cagey and paranoid green. Are you in MI6? You can whisper
