It's only polite.

You take off your pants.

You fold them up.

Even screw them up if you're a wee bit lazy.

But concealment is key.

My 5yo knows this simple life skill.

Nobody wants to see what's ranking in your pants.

Not even the washer.

Nor a visiting guest who happens to walk past your washing dump basket.

Oh my god, a whole load of other people who 'bleach'!! Thought it was just me and something wrong with me!
I always conceal too, DD just slings them around her room

TheOriginalFAB · 09/05/2011 12:30

Do you all feel bonded now? Grin

thelittlefriend · 09/05/2011 12:31

AlistairSim you could start a stain removal business with that idea!!!

pmsl at this thread

BaadRobot · 09/05/2011 12:31

Chaos where's your link?

seeker · 09/05/2011 12:33

My dd can peel off pants, two pairs of tights, a pair of jodhpurs and 2 pairs of long socks all in one go while sitting on the loo. She then leaves the resultant shoughed skin on the floor in there. It's mildly irritating, but the irritation is outweighed by my admiration of this achievement!

The thought of saying . about my own child's pants is very sad.

Jaspants · 09/05/2011 12:38

We had friends stay one weekend and when I was stripping the spare bed afterwards I found a scrunched up pair of knickers. Didn't know which was correct etiquette - wash and return or bin - I binned on the basis that if I'd done the same, I would want the person to erase the memory of my possibly congealed gusset from their brain forever by pretending it had never happened.

LaurieFairyCake · 09/05/2011 12:47

'very sad' Hmm that I don't like dealing with other womens (young or otherwise) bloodied or dischargy knickers.

I think seeker what you're implying is that I shouldn't have my stomach turned at that. Unfortunately I am unable to control how revolting I find it.

We are biologically programmed to find unhygienic things revolting.

I am perfectly happy to wash her underwear but not to pull it apart from tights or leggings.

Perhaps I would fell differently if I'd changed her when she was a baby or something but she came to me as a young women and it's my responsibility to teach her about hygiene and consideration.

kreecherlivesupstairs · 09/05/2011 12:53

for those untrigued about my gekkogusset, we lived in Thailand and I presume my gigantic unbleached gusset looked like a good bet to raise gekko babies.
The lady who did (everything) clearly didn't see the cluster and ironed my pants. I only ever wear large black sloggi's so one pair is pretty much the same as the other. I realised something was wrong when I got them into position.
Crunchy is the only way to describe it. DH was pissing his pants at the idea that one or two weren't properly killed and the possibility that I could be incubating baby reptiles.

seeker · 09/05/2011 12:55

I'm sorry, Laurie - I thought you were talking about a child. Yes, a young woman should deal with her own pants in an unobtrusive and inoffensive manner. Basic life skill. Your shouting entirely justified - both at her and at me.

LyingWitchInTheWardrobe2726 · 09/05/2011 12:56

Oh yes, the delight of having daughters who just step out of their knicks and leave them 'sunny side up'... ConfusedHmm... what's not to love, eh?Grin

BaadRobot · 09/05/2011 12:57

Shock kreecher you actually put them on before you noticed?! PMSL Grin

LaurieFairyCake · 09/05/2011 12:58

ChaosTrulyReigns · 09/05/2011 12:59

Oh sorry BaadRo, I must have seen it in the paper version, I can't seem to fibd any evidence of that research online.

WalterFlipschicks · 09/05/2011 13:38

There are other bleachers??? I feel so much more normal now, knowing this, I ruin every set of sexy knicks I am bought and so resort to cheap mingers instead!! Blush
