ChampersPampers · 08/05/2011 11:43

I often meet people who are convinced she was 'bumped off'.
Wondered if it's only small percentage of peoples view or do alot of people believe this so called murder to be true?

No and this debate isn't worth resurrecting. Who cares now?

PinotGrigiosKittens · 08/05/2011 12:24

crystal new MNers may not have seen this debate before.

sleepingsowell · 08/05/2011 12:26

Let's look at these allegations LaVrai -
1 She had claimed to be pregnant (Establishment can't have a Muslim baby now can it?)

Well, she wasn't establishment - she was divorced and had even had her 'royal highness' status stripped.

2 Driver was not as drunk as claimed, and strangely had deposits of ?50 000 in his bank so had been giving inside info. His blood when analysed showed crazily high levels of CO2 - no reason for that, but one way to knock him out

'not as drunk as claimed' - inquest showed a drunk driver - proven. Drunk drivers crash. He was still a DRUNK DRIVER.

3 Car in question had been stolen shortly before & all electrics stripped down - weird? then refitted : ecu could easily have been remotely controlled

so, 'they' had to get the driver on-side, then ensure this car is the exact one he drives on the night - and he gets in the car 'remotely controlled' by someone else who intends to kill him in it. Yes, that's HIGHLY a likely scenario

4 Her body was embalmed within 24 hours - WHY?

Why not? If all legal processes had been performed, which clearly they had. The body also had to fly from france to britain

5 Ambulance journey from site to hospital took 40 mins - scoop & run as in UK or US would prob have saved her

So, not only did 'they' have to have a suicidal driver on their side willing to get in a 'remote control' car, they had to be in control of the entire Paris ambulance service - they had to know exactly which ambulance would be sent - so they needed to have control of ALL the phone operators (or know EXACTLY which line the emergency call would come in on) and have the agreement of ALL paris ambulance drivers to take 40 minutes to get to the hospital so that she would be dying on the way................

yy seatbelt, drink driving and speeding is wot done her in

''Kill your speed not a princess'' ought to be in the Highway Code

GypsyMoth · 08/05/2011 12:27

the conspiracy theories are so amateur!!

ledkr · 08/05/2011 12:27

I dont know but ive always thought how lovely and convenient it was for the monarchy, and paved the3 way for Camilla.

GypsyMoth · 08/05/2011 12:29

monarchy?? not convenient for charles,william,harry.......

sleepingsowell · 08/05/2011 12:31

but it wasn't convenient ledkr - If you remember at the time, Prince Charles had I think had a birthday party where camilla was attending, etc and it was just at the beginning of them being a little more open. Actually Diana's death was a huge complicating factor, wasn't it. They couldn't carry on in that way and it took a lot longer than it would have done for Camilla to be allowed to 'come out'.
It didn't pave the way at all, it hampered it.
Yes, they've eventually married, but actually what would have paved the way more quickly and easily for Charles and Camilla would have been a happy Diana frolicking in the south of france with her boyfriend!!!!!

lesley33 · 08/05/2011 12:34

It was not convenient for the monarchy. The monarchy looked decidedly shaky in the weeks immediately after Diana's death. Camilla had started to make public appearances just before Diana died - this was all hurriedly stopped and Camilla retreated out of the public eye.

Groovymoves · 08/05/2011 12:35

She was killed in a car crash because the driver was drunk and she wasn't wearing a seatbelt.

Happens to Princesses and mere mortals I'm afraid.

LynetteScavo · 08/05/2011 12:36

PinotGrigiosKittens, Mohamed Al Fayed had 3 sons, Dodi wasn't his only son.

But I agree with almost everything else in your post.

I probably know more about the situation surrounding the crash than most or anyone else who will post on this thread. I won't say why or how, but in answer to the thread title, I have to say IMO, it's a definite no.

Collegemum38 · 08/05/2011 12:37

No

FabbyChic · 08/05/2011 12:38

I do think she was murdered.

I do believe 9/11 was done by the Americans themselves.

And I don't believe we have ever landed on the moon.

You go forwards with technology not backwards, we could land on the moon, we can't take off. If we had landed on the moon all those years ago we would have space stations there now.

valiumredhead · 08/05/2011 12:38

what lesley33 said!

It wasn't convenient at all.

In fact I remember discussing with a friend how awful it was for Camilla as her goose had well and truly been cooked and after the crash they would never get married.

olderandwider · 08/05/2011 12:40

No, but conspiracy theories are so much more entertaining than boring facts that the Death of Diana show will never close.

NulliusInVerba · 08/05/2011 12:41

You really think 9/11 was done by the americans??!

I find that way more absurd than Diana being murdered.

If the americans did it, and the whole muslim terrorist thing is a scam (you think, for oil, I presume?) Then what was 7/7?
And why are they sending videos to Al-Jazeera cutting people's heads off chanting "death to the west" ?? Hmm

ledkr · 08/05/2011 12:43

Fabby-i love your conviction, dont hold back girl Grin

I have no idea either way and yes i guess it did mess things up on the Camila front. I hope she wasnt cos it makes it all a bit scary for the rest of us.

One of the many reasons I don't believe any of the conspiracy theories I have come across so far http://www.guardian.co.uk/books/2009/may/03/david-aaronovitch-voodoo-histories here (although there's always a first time. Keeping an open mind, me Wink).

forehead · 08/05/2011 12:46

YES

olderandwider · 08/05/2011 12:47

oops, try again.here

transferbalance · 08/05/2011 12:48

I don't know about Diana, but i swear I saw Jacko & Elvis sharing a Big Mac in Maccy D's the other week

valiumbandwitch · 08/05/2011 12:48

No, but I think some of The Firm Cronies were please.

ShowMeTheMonet · 08/05/2011 12:49

Yes Dodi was the eldest son not the only.

Lol at FabbyChic. Yikes.

Caoimhe · 08/05/2011 12:50

FbbyChic - "You go forwards with technology not backwards" - so how come we used to have a SuperSonic passenger plane but now we don't? Or was Concorde a figment of our imaginations?
