ChampersPampers · 08/05/2011 11:43

I often meet people who are convinced she was 'bumped off'.
Wondered if it's only small percentage of peoples view or do alot of people believe this so called murder to be true?

obviously. Mohammed Al Fayed has all the facts.

expatinscotland · 08/05/2011 11:46

No.

ApocalypseCheeseToastie · 08/05/2011 11:47

Nah, the driver wouldn't top himself would he ?

GypsyMoth · 08/05/2011 11:48

no...come on. its just conspiracy theories!!

you'll be saying 9/11 was a set up next....or that the first man on the moon was a figmant of everyones imagination!

puffling · 08/05/2011 11:48

No.
It's entirely to be expected that there are conspiracy theories. But life is not like that. Things happen randomly or as a result of an accumulation of things as in this case.

kc0rns1lk · 08/05/2011 11:48

no

FebreezeYourJeans · 08/05/2011 11:49

Nope

But I did snigger at ;

Kate M 'Your majesty, please tell me the secret to a long & happy marriage'
The Queen 'Don't piss me off, and wear a seatbelt'

Grin
sleepingsowell · 08/05/2011 11:50

No she wasn't. When people are assassinated it is not by way of an orchestrated car crash.

LaVraiVerite · 08/05/2011 11:57

1 She had claimed to be pregnant (Establishment can't have a Muslim baby now can it?)
2 Driver was not as drunk as claimed, and strangely had deposits of ?50 000 in his bank so had been giving inside info. His blood when analysed showed crazily high levels of CO2 - no reason for that, but one way to knock him out
3 Car in question had been stolen shortly before & all electrics stripped down - weird? then refitted : ecu could easily have been remotely controlled
4 Her body was embalmed within 24 hours - WHY?
5 Ambulance journey from site to hospital took 40 mins - scoop & run as in UK or US would prob have saved her

Treble murder

GypsyMoth · 08/05/2011 11:58

LaVrai.....proof of that?? where is it all?

Snorbs · 08/05/2011 11:59

A drunk driver was speeding and crashed his car killing himself, two of his passengers and seriously injuring a third who was also the only person wearing a seatbelt.

Where's the mystery in that? People get killed by drunk drivers every day.

sleepingsowell · 08/05/2011 12:00

Others had claimed she might be pregnant- where is your proof that she claimed to be? It was sheer tabloid speculation.
All the rest of your facts LaVrai - where are they from?
Don't know why people feel the need to look past all of the high profile assassinations which have been direct and 'simple' killings, to find 'meaning' in a car crash.
Suppose it's a natural human instinct to try to find meaning in all the randomness of life.

kc0rns1lk · 08/05/2011 12:00

exactly snorbs

wannaBe · 08/05/2011 12:01

why is this in ibu? and,

who cares?

the end.

Saltire · 08/05/2011 12:02

No I don't believe she was murdered.

MarioandLuigi · 08/05/2011 12:02

No, but then I dont read the Daily Express.

clam · 08/05/2011 12:04

"I often meet people who are convinced she was 'bumped off'."

Do you? Really?

Btw, she was not pregnant. Her close friend Rosa Monkton holidayed with her 10 days earlier and verified in the most delicate way she could that, biologically, she could not have been.

MotherMucca · 08/05/2011 12:10

No, but I believe the aliens abducted her and replaced her with a clone.

Morloth · 08/05/2011 12:13

It is a bit inefficient isn't it?

Given the resources the royal family have available to them I reckon they could have come up with something a bit more likely to succeed.

handsomeharry · 08/05/2011 12:16

No I don't believe she was murdered. She was not pregnant at the time of her death.

PinotGrigiosKittens · 08/05/2011 12:19

AFAIK "people" didn't claim she was pregnant - Al Fayed did. He is a known fantasist and thrives on attention. I know he must be upset at the death of his only son but it's hard if not impossible to take anything the man says seriously. I think it's been well established over the years that he has no credibility.

Rosa Monckton did indeed confirm she Diana was menstruating 10 days prior to her Paris crash.

She was embalmed on the request of the Royal Doctor. It is not usual practice, afaik, for the french to do this. There was a large article about this issue not long ago in The Times where the Dr said he had to make a quick decision as they were planning to repatriate her. He maintained it was a practical decision for that purpose.

The French do not operate scoop and run as in the UK/US. They just don't. Their ambulances are better fitted out than ours for this purpose. She died from a massive artery injury, nothing would have saved her.

I have been to the Pont d'Alma in Paris and it's a little slope leading down to a small tunnel. It is incredibly underwhelming to go there and see what a 'normal' patch of road could have caused her accident - but seriously, it's so out of the way and so small a junction, it would be nigh on impossible for the 'baddies' to use that as a method.

Henri Paul was an informant - thats known. He wasn't a kamikazi though. Big leap.

So, no I don't think she was murdered. If she wasn't dating a muslim playboy to piss off the Establishment, I doubt we'd be even talking about this.

Let her rest in peace.

valiumredhead · 08/05/2011 12:21

There had been many similar crashes in the same spot the previous year in the tunnel.

PinotGrigiosKittens · 08/05/2011 12:22

Valium is right and the concrete pillars are still not covered by safety barriers (I was there in August 2010).
