Hello everyone.

My son bought a friend back from school today which was fine. No problems. WHen his Mother came to collect him she looked around at my kitchen with a definite sneer and barely thanked me for having had her son after school. My house iS slightly chaotic at the moment because i am under work pressure, but i found her attitude offensive. AIBU?

Did you understand that comment aimed at me, anyone? If you did could you explain it to me please?

I'm confused. hedgefundwidow have you admitted that this is a skit written for fun, or are we still to believe it is all a genuine account of your real life? I don't doubt there are people with real lives just like this (I know plenty) but it is a bit too obviously 'tick box for the upper-middles' to ring true. I have no fight to pick with you, I just ceased to believe it was real once the lurchers were wheeled in. It was one aspirational accoutrement too many.

An Interesting theory if not slightly creepy, but wrong....
I've already published one book and am half way through the second one.
Of course i'm not a "great" fiction writer. "Great" writers are Iris Murdoch, Proust, Kazuo Ishiguro, Shakespeare, James Joyce...

I will never be "great", but i make a modest living and i love what i do, so i feel very fortunate, even if i do have a philandering arse for a Husband.

I can't believe it was deleted, I'd just found it and gone back to the beginning and only posted once, then read the first two pages.

AIBU to fuck the gardener... A follow-on thread to this. HFW waxed lyrical about the gardener in a rather amusing way (well, I thought so, anyway). Someone got tetchy about HFW laughing at MN'ers and inverse snobbery. Apparently, HFW and CotswoldCountryMummy (summat about under enthusiastic SIL) were one and the same.

A few people got quite earnest on the Fucking The Gardener thread.

It was a hoot.

Hedgie had a "shall I shag the gardener thread" I only found it this evening. I started to read bits which implied there had been an exchange between a regular (can't remember who) and Hedgie. Apparently the regular began grassing to MNHQ accusing the Hedge of all sorts of misdemeanours. So I went to the beginning for the whole thing and it got pulled!!!

Gutted tbh, (I know, I should get out more) I was really enjoying it!

MotherMucca do you know why it was pulled?? I didnt come across anything that would have got it pulled.

Zoo because the smallest child wanted it. And I was concerned that either:

a) he'd be carted away by SS
b) his legs would drop off and he'd turn into a fat slug

if he played any more playstation in a hermetically sealed room this week.

I missed that thread totally. MN is full of earnest twitchers though. I may have been one once myself but time heals everything.

Alouise, I really couldn't fathom it, either. Someone did rock up towards the end, redirecting interested parties to a site where they could continue reading. Same person alleged that original complainant had been PMing HFW/CCM to encourage her to continue posting. Or Summat

I think it was inferred that the OP was testing out an idea for a book. I did not take it seriously for a minute, though. Just assumed it was a pisstake. Nothing offensive (and I can be a tetchy old bastard).

Did not get why people where queuing up to or 1/10. Ignore, if something is boring you, surely?

Ha ha - yes we def. had goldcard burnout a few years back so I know what you mean! And it is practically in your back garden so I imagine it holds no allure whatsoever!
