I'm actually giggling in a slightly hysterical way at goldfish being called Bob. That's really tickled me, and I predict that it's going to end up making me burst into sudden laughter in Tesco at some point Grin

I've got an irrational hatred of dogs being called Deefer and cats being called Ceefer.

I just think it's so try hard. You ask someone what their dog is called and they go "Deefer" and they look at you expectantly, hoping you're going to say "What??!" so that they can go "You know - D for dog!!" triumphantly, at which point you're meant to go "Oh! I get it! That's really witty!" and have a jolly good laugh.

The first person EVER to call their dog Deefer - that's moderately witty. Otherwise, you've borrowed someone else's wit and you're just being a knob.

I think Pat is a good name for a dog.

No decent names here, although my husband did call our first Royal Python 'Casino'.

I did hear a story on the radio about a Staffy that had won some sort of award and was called 'Oi'. The poor newsreader could barely speak.

poissonrouge · 09/02/2011 07:56

I let my 4yo name our rats so they are called Pinky, Sparkle and Tinkerbell. Crap.

We might be getting a cat, and I shall insist on a really good name. Like... Ratbag, maybe?
