My cat is called Connies, after the blue peter presenter

Tysonandthehouseelves86 · 08/02/2011 23:03

I used to have 2 goldfish called fanny and fred. They died.

TheMoistWorldOfSeptimusQuench · 08/02/2011 23:04

Used to have cats called Lord Basil BigSocks, Hezbollah, Big Frank, and Little Frank.

At the moment we have a very ancient cat called (more prosaically) Mushy, but DD has already decided our next cat is going to be called Medium Frank, as homage to the two former Franks.

Also rabbits called Dave, Dave and Dave, and a goldfish called Al Capone.

Friend has a gorgeous greyhound called Wilfred, which I think is just lovely and really suits him.

applesandcider · 08/02/2011 23:07

A pig called Gwyneth (after Paltrow obviously)!

sb6699 · 08/02/2011 23:21

I had a pony called Whizz Kid and goldfish Sunplash.

As I have got older my pet's names have unfortunately become more run of the mill.

McDreamy · 08/02/2011 23:22

GetOrfMoiLand · 08/02/2011 23:22

He was a proper terrorist, GOML

MmeLindt · 08/02/2011 23:25

Who are you waiting for.

My dog is called Daphne Sparkle.

DD wanted Sparkle but I refused so we compromised.

Daphne after Daphne Broon.

GloriaSmut · 08/02/2011 23:29

We used to have a cat called Big Pussy. That was the last time, in my early childhood, that I was allowed to name a family pet. My mother said it was absolutely mortifying to stand at the door calling for her.

ChaosTrulyReigns · 08/02/2011 23:32

There's a friend of mine who threatened to call his Rottweiller YouBigNob, just so he could shout it out at the Arbo.

Reason prevailed.

It was called Dilbert.

My dog is called Dahpne.

Occasionally, anyway. DD (perhaps a budding MNer, likes namechanging) so sometimes its Tallulah or other such girlie names.

His real name is Robbie.

Grimma
Poor Robbie. He will have Gender Issues.

We needed a name that the French could pronounce - they do say is slightly different that Paw Broon would say.

I have a friend with a cat called Ian. A few years after getting him she met and married her husband, called Iain. [Grin]

My dog is called Dave

Plonker · 09/02/2011 00:51

My friends goldfish is fluffy, which I love!

Are we waiting for the owner of two now very well-known large dogs? Or am I completely off track ...?

GotArt · 09/02/2011 00:59

We called DD's goldfish Little Friend, but she started calling him Fshoo Fshoo when she started to learn the word fish and he's been that ever since... well, we've only had him for just over a year. DD is two.

Piggles · 09/02/2011 01:18

I seem to have been very conservative in my pet naming over the years.

A rabbit named Rosie a guinea pig named Pansy and cats named Sooty and Sweep were my childhood pets.

My cats at the moment are named Fat Annie and Cleo

I did live with a guy for a while who owned a cat who went by the name of Hoochie Mama and I had a university housemate who had a horrible hamster. The hamster used to escape constantly and eat anything it could find. I hated that hamster. When it drowned itself in a yogurt pot the fact that it was named Darwin seemed very appropriate to me Grin

lololizzy · 09/02/2011 01:27

my first guineapig was Willy Wonka

Catnao · 09/02/2011 01:30

I've got Strokey Robinson and Ozzy Ozpaws. (cats)

WingDad · 09/02/2011 01:32

My mate's dog is called Winston Churchill. Luckily he answers to Winny, but will still respond to his full name!

My cat's called Thomas....The RSPCA named him!
