My kids are now all at school , and im going slightly (more than usual )bonkers !

So i want one of those dolls .Ideally i would get one that "matched" my children in colouring ... blonde blue eyed little cherub like darlings.

DH thinks ive went mad .
DD2 IS ROLLING HER EYES
Dd3 says just borrow one of dd4`s dollys and play with that.
The boys want to know if im getting a doll , can they get a new toy too.
DD1 thinks ive lost the plot and is looking very scared ...(she due pfb in dec )

should i get one?

You need to catch that weirdy programme that was on a year or so back about them. That'll be all the therapy you need.
Failing that, I do know a woman who makes them.

No.

They are creepy.

Get a dog. Or a cat. Or a hamster.

Or therapy. It is not a normal reaction to want to buy one of these dolls to fill the gap that your children leave when they go to school.

Rockbird · 23/09/2010 17:42

Here you go, take your pick.

TitsalinaBumSquash · 23/09/2010 17:44

that is creepy, one of them really looks like my DS when he was born...

maduggar · 23/09/2010 17:48

They are weird and people who parade them about are weird.

maduggar · 23/09/2010 17:48

baby teeto, titsalina? Grin

anonymousbird · 23/09/2010 17:49

I've never seen or heard of this.

It is sick and vile!!

KurriKurri · 23/09/2010 17:49

I find them creepy, but each to their own. In the programme I saw about them, most people didn't stop at one.

What do people do with them????Confused

mummyplonk · 23/09/2010 17:49

Get the baby monkey one!it would make some great conversation when you push it round the park in a pram Grin

BooBooGlass · 23/09/2010 17:49

O hell no. It's a doll, not a child.

Rockbird · 23/09/2010 17:50

I used to turn my teddies and dolls to the wall at night because their eyes used to frighten me, fark knows what I'd do in a roomful of those. I'd have an attack of the heebees!

ThingOne · 23/09/2010 17:52

YABVU. They are vile.

fedupofnamechanging · 23/09/2010 17:55

i think they would make a lovely doll for a child (but am guessing they are way out of the price range of what most parents would spend on a doll).

Women who have these and treat them like real babies do need some kind of therapy imo. Not wishing to sound harsh, but it isn't normal for a woman to want one of these.

Were you wanting to have another baby droves, or is it that you are just really missing your DCs when they are at school? I honestly think it wouldn't be good for your children to see you with one of these.

droves · 23/09/2010 17:56

love the monkey one !

i do know they are dolls btw Wink

im not weird you know Grin.

just thought id start collecting something ,cause im bored

Rockbird · 23/09/2010 17:56

Stamps are good and take up less space!

VoldemortsNipple · 23/09/2010 17:57

You are going to be a nan in a few months, and then where will the doll be?

On top of the wardrobe collecting dust Grin

Wait for your Grandchild, that will be much more fun and rewarding.

droves · 23/09/2010 17:57

lol at pushing it around the park in a pram .

BooBooGlass · 23/09/2010 17:58

Bored? Get a hobby, get a job. Get out of the house and stop pining after your children. I read somewhere once (probably here) that your main job as a parent is to teach your dc to be able to live without you. As lighthearted as this is, it's so unhealthy if they think you spend your days worrying about them and longing for them to be babies again. Something's missing in your life, and a doll ain't it.

Bucharest · 23/09/2010 17:59

The woman on the programme flew to America for hers, then cried because its face wasn't right and had to be redone...she walked around with it in a hooooge fvck off Silver Cross pram.

Loon.

droves · 23/09/2010 17:59
