My kids are now all at school , and im going slightly (more than usual )bonkers !

So i want one of those dolls .Ideally i would get one that "matched" my children in colouring ... blonde blue eyed little cherub like darlings.

DH thinks ive went mad .
DD2 IS ROLLING HER EYES
Dd3 says just borrow one of dd4`s dollys and play with that.
The boys want to know if im getting a doll , can they get a new toy too.
DD1 thinks ive lost the plot and is looking very scared ...(she due pfb in dec )

should i get one?

loveinsuburbia · 23/09/2010 20:32

PMSL, ShowOfHands! Grin

droves · 23/09/2010 20:34

would it be odd to get one made to look like one of the kids when they were little.... dd2 is a horror teenager the now ...it might be nice to be reminded of what she was like back then before she developed a knack for cheek

They are not for me, especially when I remember a midwife saying they are like still born babies Sad

But nobody has the right to tell you you're weird OP! People collect all sorts of things - do whatever makes you happy.

getabloodygrip · 23/09/2010 20:41

Have I inadvertently taken drugs?
Am I in the land that time forgot?

What the fuck is going on?

And ShowOfHands. That is legendary.

OMFG. Just when you think you've seen it all, well, fuck me. Where is Cuntymcfuckchops when we need her?? I am sure she can bring some sense to proceedings.

GET HELP NOT A SODDING DOLL.

StealthPolarBear · 23/09/2010 20:44

Why are all the ones on that link girls?

BatsInTheSnowglobe · 23/09/2010 20:44

droves you should watch My Fake Baby it's prob on 4oD (think it was ch4) at the moment as it was on the TV again last week.
A woman on the prog had one made to look like her grandson and her husband said it looked like something on a mortuary slab!

Pixel · 23/09/2010 20:47

I once arrived at slimming club (running a bit late) to see a lady cradling one. I honestly thought it was a real baby and was about to start cooing over it when I happened to glance over her shoulder and saw a heap of them piled higgledy piggledy on a table. I came so close to embarrassing myself in a room full of people who obviously already knew it was a doll!

SixtyFootDoll · 23/09/2010 20:47

We have a poor soul who walks around our local town with a doll in a buggy , she talks to it and feeds it.

All very sad.

droves · 23/09/2010 20:51

stealth .... theyre "girls" because im assuming thet sell more girl ones ...you cant put a boy doll in a frilly dress ya know Wink

Devendra · 23/09/2010 20:54

Why are the dolls all girls? They unsettle me, but whatever floats yer boat!

MorningGloria · 23/09/2010 20:54

Get a vibrator instead, much better use of your time when the kids are at school.

StealthPolarBear · 23/09/2010 20:55

that's annoying
more of the "girls are better" stuff

BigBoldAndBeautiful · 23/09/2010 20:57

MorningGloria Smile Aint that the truth!

MorningGloria · 23/09/2010 21:09

BatsInTheSnowglobe · 23/09/2010 22:12

haha reminds me of when i was a kid our family dog had an accident that rendered him paralysed, so for the few weeks we had him hoping he might recover, my mum took him for walks in a pram through the village, a holiday maker peeked into the pram to see the cute baby and got a whippet wrapped in a blanket poking out at her haha

BatsInTheSnowglobe · 23/09/2010 22:18

ok so setting the scene to that made me sound stone hearted! Blush

TheVeryLazyLadybird · 23/09/2010 22:18

My Grandma-in-law's hairdresser makes them. She was at GMa-ILs one day when a man knocked at the door, he was very concerned there was a baby laying on the back seat of a car outside, he was trying to find out where the parent was before calling the police!

Hairdresser just laughed it off and said 'Oh it happens all the time!' Hmm

KickArseQueen · 23/09/2010 22:19

Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!

They are horrible and look like dead babies when you are up close.

We had a nutter turn up at playgroup with one. She commandeered a bouncy chair for it, fed it ( bottle not boob!) and sat at the end singing with it at circle time.

Shock
TheVeryLazyLadybird · 23/09/2010 22:23

Oh what!?
That is complete madness.

Did she have child with her or just the doll?

Although, my mum works with a woman who plays with toy gnomes on the floor of her office at lunchtime... think I might get her a doll...
