My kids are now all at school , and im going slightly (more than usual )bonkers !

So i want one of those dolls .Ideally i would get one that "matched" my children in colouring ... blonde blue eyed little cherub like darlings.

DH thinks ive went mad .
DD2 IS ROLLING HER EYES
Dd3 says just borrow one of dd4`s dollys and play with that.
The boys want to know if im getting a doll , can they get a new toy too.
DD1 thinks ive lost the plot and is looking very scared ...(she due pfb in dec )

should i get one?

Bleurrggghhhhh.
I'd rather have a dog. A real one Grin

Pernickety · 19/10/2010 14:09

The first doll of the gallery on the website looks identical to my DD2 when she was a few days old. Scary. I think I'd rather look at her photo than have her newborness immortalised in 3D.

Grown ups should not be buying dolls. There are plenty of other ways to fill the 'need to nurture' gap with living things - animals or other people's children.

I am a collector,of reborns,im proud of them.i am aware of the stigma alomg with yhem, but as any hobby that is collected its to each is own.they are theroputic for elderly with dimentia, alzheimerz, also social developement, and can be relaxing to hold .i do know and treat them carefully, but as whay they are a doll.i know there habe been videos of gals who o feel have crossed the line by talking, treating them as real children waisting real formula that can be fed to a hungry baby, and throw away diapers after change its a illusion not real.but I do defend that its what we wish to do with we arent harming no one and if your not in our shoes and walking in our life dnt assume much.its still going to go on evenbthough you dnt want it to...i absolutely respect opinions, not insults or vulgarity.we can agree to disagree.thankyou.blessings to all

AtYourCervix · 08/05/2013 10:17

Zombie spammy bollox.
A small but insane prt of me quite fancies a fake baby though.

betterwhenthesunshines · 08/05/2013 10:21

They look like babies in the photos, but in reality they would surely be very strange with no movement.

Find a voluntary job.

Whistleblower0 · 24/10/2013 11:03

If this is not a wind up, and you are actually for real, then you need some serious therepy.

Whistleblower0 · 24/10/2013 11:04

Pah, just noticed this is an old thread. Op, i hope the sessions are going well.

jellyboatsandpirates · 24/10/2013 11:11

You need to watch that programme that was on a while back. Grown women taking their dolls out for a walk in a pushchair and pretending it was real when people stopped to coo over the baby.
It was really weird, and creepy. Far too realistic. Although asleep. Alllll the time. Sad

jellyboatsandpirates · 24/10/2013 11:12

Just noticed it's an old thread. Oops. Hope OP didn't get one! Smile

NotYoMomma · 24/10/2013 11:13

you are getting a real life actual grandchild

Amy106 · 25/10/2013 19:06

Our local hospital has a volunteer baby cuddler program where long term infant patients are held, rocked and given loving attention which aids in their recovery. Have you consider volunteering for a program like that?

Driz · 25/10/2013 19:14

They look like dead babies.
I quite like the monkey though!

GigiDarcy · 25/10/2013 19:32

In the last few years my class (year 5) seem to have them. I like seeing them playing with dolls rather than ignoring each other on electronics but to start with they did creep me out! I think it is because they weigh the same as a baby and when you pick them up you feel compelled to hold then in the same way. Some also have heartbeats and a moving chest with it, or their feet move when you tickle them, that scared me!

hoddy2014 · 04/09/2014 21:17

I collect the reborn dolls they are great in fact my 2year old got one for her 2nd birthday she loved it

hoddy2014 · 04/09/2014 21:18

Its just a doll not robotic one but the ones that move are interesting but a bit too expensive for me

RonaldMcDonald · 04/09/2014 21:19

no

gordyslovesheep · 04/09/2014 21:21

and you bumped a year old zombie thread to share - how nice Grin

GuybrushThreepwoodMP · 04/09/2014 21:42

Grin Grin Grin I love a random zombie reanimation!

Morloth · 04/09/2014 23:07

It is appropriate, the reborn things look like zombie babies.

furcoatbigknickers · 04/09/2014 23:14

furcoatbigknickers · 04/09/2014 23:15

Obviously i'm not ashamed

steff13 · 05/09/2014 03:07
