Come hither all those who haven't found their place on mumsnet, have scrapped in Aibu or crossed words in chat. The buddy bench shalt not judge.

The buddy bench will hand out wine and cakes, it will join you on your scoffathons getting pissed

All those who enter the Gazebo and sit on the bench, will have their sins erased and be given a warm welcome and cheerful chat from CheerfulYank, gomummy, tired mum, Elmo, AF, HE, Cheesey and far, far too many more to mention.

Welcome to the buddy bench, we look forward to meeting you all Smile

Oh and don't forget, last one to leave polishes bench and locks up !

hi, tea, you lovely lady x

Minehead is fab...

gomummy · 26/09/2010 23:07

Mmm...cake and chocolate is ok, comfort food isn't supposed to be healthy...hope you are feeling better tomorrow Tea.

Someone must tell me about this Minehead of which you speak, Tea and AF?

AnyFucker · 26/09/2010 23:34

haven't been to Minehead in years (have good childhood memories)

It is a slightly in-yer-face resort in Somerset, from what I remember

a bit kiss-me-quick but loads going on

have a look here

gomummy · 26/09/2010 23:44

Thanks AF! Looks like fun and a nice place to go with DCs. Picturesque too, but I suppose the pics they'd post on their website are sort of supposed to be! Grin

Ahhh, someday Cheerful and I will make it across the pond to see it all....

teaandcakeplease · 27/09/2010 07:51

I think I can manage 4 days next April if I scrap a deposit together and put a little aside every month until they need my full payment. I've never ever been to Butlins but a friend has recommended the Minehead one to me. The DCs haven't had a holiday apart from a weekend trip to Swanage this year, previous year just a weekend trip to Wales. So I am determined to do something next year with them. I think I can manage as a lone parent at Butlins with them? By then DS will be age 2 and DD 3 and a half Hmm

hi all,

hope you are all well, cant believe i missed choccy cake SadGrin

Mumcentreplus · 27/09/2010 19:46

...

gomummy · 27/09/2010 19:46

Tiredmum I think we're still waiting for Tea's pilot. Or a much, much larger boat than I currently have. Or just a small lottery win...that's not too much to ask, is it? Grin

Tea I think you can do it! Personally I think it would be easier at those ages than now, and sounds lovely for you to get away with the two of them like that.

Anyone for some freshly baked scones? We've put hint of finely chopped apple, brown sugar and cinnamon in them too (overrun with apples these days!). Warning: they are somewhat irregular in shape as DS has helped.... :)

gomummy · 27/09/2010 19:48

Hi MCP!

elmofan · 27/09/2010 20:33

Its 8.31pm here gomummy . Been up since 6.20am so an early night for me tonight .

Mumcentreplus · 27/09/2010 20:39

I have a cold caught from my rat-bag DDs..cultivating a cough I feel..

Tiredmumno1 · 27/09/2010 20:46

i am just gonna jump in the bath and wash my hair

gomummy lets hope tea meets that pilot soon then eh lol. do you do the lottery???

gomummy · 27/09/2010 21:04

Tis that time of the year, isn't it. Do you all do flu shots?

Yes Tiredmum, Tea will have to get on that pilot mission! Grin

I do the lottery in a group from my former work. So if I win I still won't be buying a private jet or anything, but should be able to get Cheerful and I over there for a Buddy Bench meetup! Oh and said meetup will have copious amounts of really good wine!

Mumcentreplus · 27/09/2010 21:15

aww thanks love...Smile... we don't usually but I'm considering..(re flu jab)

CheerfulYank · 28/09/2010 01:17

Ooohh, good wine! I could use some.

Waves to MCP and everyone else, too tired to type out the names of everyone. :o We're scraping our house to ready it for painting and it just utter drudgery. It was peeling so badly though, and then a huge storm over the summer broke a few shutters off so all in all the look of the place was just a little too Dickensian for my blood. So I'm glad we're making progress but I'm worried it won't get done in time before it's too cold to paint. And then I'll have to live in this half-peeled monstrosity of a place. Sigh...

Mmm, lovely scones. :) I don't play the lottery but perhaps I will start. Then I could pay someone to do my house whilst I am away on my lovely Bench holiday. Perfect!

gomummy · 28/09/2010 01:54

Oh Cheerful I feel for you, we did that last year and it is a miserable job. Don't get caught out by the cold weather like we did, it is even worse trying to paint it in a rush. And LOL, you will need that lottery to pay someone to do it unless it's much cheaper than here. I got quotes and it was outrageous.

Well I have made and consumed far too much of a delicious roast and all the trimmings, so it will be an early night for me...I feel like a stuffed turkey, lol!

Loving the pumpkins and gourds, Cheerful!

elmofan · 29/09/2010 13:08

Hello to all Smile

Had dd at the doctors yesterday & as suspected she has a bad ear infection , so she is off school today .
ooh are we decorating the bench for Halloween ? it looks lovely .

gomummy · 29/09/2010 13:17

Hadn't even thought of Halloween Elmo, was thinking for Thanksgiving but is it the same time over there (October)? It's in December in the US, isn't it Cheerful?

Sorry to hear about DD's ear infection Elmo, hope she's feeling a bit better now.

elmofan · 29/09/2010 14:08

We dont celebrate Thanksgiving in Ireland , so when cheerful mentioned pumpkins i thought she was getting ready for Halloween Blush . How do you all celebrate thanksgiving then ? Do you put up decorations like at christmas ? Thanks , DD is bouncing around after starting on her antibiotic Smile .
