Come hither all those who haven't found their place on mumsnet, have scrapped in Aibu or crossed words in chat. The buddy bench shalt not judge.

The buddy bench will hand out wine and cakes, it will join you on your scoffathons getting pissed

All those who enter the Gazebo and sit on the bench, will have their sins erased and be given a warm welcome and cheerful chat from CheerfulYank, gomummy, tired mum, Elmo, AF, HE, Cheesey and far, far too many more to mention.

Welcome to the buddy bench, we look forward to meeting you all Smile

Oh and don't forget, last one to leave polishes bench and locks up !

spikeycow · 24/09/2010 22:28

Tea you're doing a course aswell? What are you doing? There's a student parent section on here somewhere among the million trillion other topics

teaandcakeplease · 24/09/2010 22:30

Understanding Children - it's an openings course. Should be studying tonight but too tired Blush Shock

Don't bother if you're tired, it won't be productive anyway. Mine is Investigating the Psychological world. Bit worried about the IT aspects considering I can't even attach thingies to emails but I'll get the hang of it [worried]

elmofan · 24/09/2010 22:34

Do you find it helpful tea?

Same here spiky just having a relaxing weekend.

teaandcakeplease · 24/09/2010 22:36

The course? Nah not really, it's a means to an end. Once I've done this one and the next one I shall seemlessly join working in Early Years education Wink Yeah right! There aren't any jobs round here in pre schools, as all mummy's looking for part time work, snap them up fast.

elmofan · 24/09/2010 22:43

You never know tea by the time ds starts pre school you might get a job in his playschool + be able to be with him Smile

gomummy · 24/09/2010 23:05

Spikey (good to "see" you!) you can PM me if IT challenges with course.

Tea you will have to make your way across the pond. Can't get early years educators where I am at all, lots of opportunities.

Will be a fun weekend here Elmo, taking DS to events at a local petting zoo, some really different animals (well, different for here, I suppose). He will love it and I will have a ball taking photos! :) The rest of the time is all about preparing for winter, blech.

spikeycow · 24/09/2010 23:10

Thanks gomummy you might live to regret that Grin

gomummy · 24/09/2010 23:20

LOL, no worries Spikey!

CheerfulYank · 24/09/2010 23:26

Oooh, that's great tea! Am Envy of anyone going to school right now, I'm interested in so many things and would love to study them! We always need early educators too...fancy being an American?! :) I'm actually in the process of trying to get an early Head Start program started in our community, but it will be a long slog.

I didn't do anything on the religion debate, necessarily. It just gets so irritating! I believe in God too, tea, and don't appreciate people saying "anyone who believes in any such thing is deluded and/or stupid." I'm neither, thanks, and I don't care what you believe, so please extend the same courtesy my way. (That's not a direct quote, by the way!) :)

And Monica is great, gomummy! Wear your Monica-ness with pride! :o

How's the bump, tiredmum? Hi, spikey, elmo, anyfucker! :)

Tiredmumno1 · 24/09/2010 23:28

Oooh, good for you Cheerful, the early Head Start program here is excellent, cannot say enough good things about it. Though we will have to get Tea dual citizenship! Grin

Not here Tiredmum! Grin

Tiredmumno1 · 24/09/2010 23:34

Whoops forgot the time difference gomummy Grin

What time is it there now?

spikeycow · 24/09/2010 23:36

Awite Tired howse you

CheerfulYank · 24/09/2010 23:40

It's a little after 5:30 here. (In the evening)

We have a Head Start program here, for kids age 3 to kindergarten, and those kids are just...my happiness. :) They come for breakfast at the school where I work in the morning and I love to see them and give them hugs every day. I would really, really like to start a program for babies and young toddlers because it's so needed. (Plus, I think if I got it started they'd have to let me work there :o Yay nepotism!)

It was drizzly and gray here this morning; I stayed home as DS had a bad cold with a fever and runny nose/eyes, and the dog was whimpering with an ear infection. Sigh... I barricaded myself in the bathroom with the Pottery Barn catalogue was the picture of Florence Nightengale all day. :o

Tiredmumno1 · 24/09/2010 23:48

Allo spikey, not to bads ta, i been mainly lazing about this week.

Glad to have some peace now the kids are back at school Grin

Funny thing is, i miss them not bein around lol

Tiredmumno1 · 24/09/2010 23:50

Cant believe its only half five cheerful or nearly 6 now, its creeping onto midnight here.

And its been raining on and off all day, pretty windy aswell

CheerfulYank · 24/09/2010 23:53

It's like time travel :) I always think it's weird when I'm mumsnetting in the evening and it says "Saturday" or whatever when it's still Friday here.

Tiredmumno1 · 24/09/2010 23:57

Lol that must be so weird cheerful, so when we are sleeping you would be enjoying your evenings.

Its so odd, knowing you are so far away.

So have you had dinner yet?

CheerfulYank · 25/09/2010 00:01

Yup, had some veggie soup not long ago. I'm off to work at the movie theater now, so good night to everyone! :) (Will probably fill up on popcorn whilst at work :o)

Tiredmumno1 · 25/09/2010 00:05
