Come hither all those who haven't found their place on mumsnet, have scrapped in Aibu or crossed words in chat. The buddy bench shalt not judge.

The buddy bench will hand out wine and cakes, it will join you on your scoffathons getting pissed

All those who enter the Gazebo and sit on the bench, will have their sins erased and be given a warm welcome and cheerful chat from CheerfulYank, gomummy, tired mum, Elmo, AF, HE, Cheesey and far, far too many more to mention.

Welcome to the buddy bench, we look forward to meeting you all Smile

Oh and don't forget, last one to leave polishes bench and locks up !

I love biblical names so went trawling through the bible for some. It helped me to choose. I also asked to see the family tree to check out old family names and used a few for middle names etc.

Teaandcakeplease · 26/11/2010 21:10

Hi all! Can't talk too much (having a sleepover with my best friend :)) just wanted to pop in and say hello.

DS is feeling much better now (gotta love those antibiotics) and went to stay with my parents for a few days to cut down a "Christmas tree from the forest!" :)

Oooh, tiredmum, are you saying it A-lee-see-uh or A-leesh-a? I like both :)

Welcome, math!

elmoschristmaswish · 27/11/2010 10:26

< we have snow Grin >

Glad ds is feeling much better cheerful Smile & enjoy your sleepover x

tea have you got much snow ?

gomummy There's going to be a HUGE protest in Dublin today against the Taoiseach's plans to yet again cut wages & introduce New Taxes Sad
Yet he has increased the tax on food & all essentials which makes it very hard to manage .

tiredmum Alicia is a lovely name Smile

Teaandcakeplease · 27/11/2010 12:07

Just a dusting like icing sugar which is melting. It's still cold though.

gomummygo · 27/11/2010 17:05

Currently plowing out the 9 inches of snow we are covered with since last night! And so it begins....

Anyone else have their tree up yet? Blush

Have been reading more Elmo, sounds really bad, tbh. :( We've also just had our electric bill literally double, which has been really hard for everyone, as well as a new tax added, but yours looks much worse if I am reading it all correctly.

Glad DS is feeling better Cheerful, hope the tree is great!

Tiredmumno1 · 27/11/2010 17:38

Lol cheerful it would be pronounced A-lee-see-uh, and ta elmo i just really like it.

tea he has been saying some names i just didnt like them, see told ya i'm fussy Grin, and he knows i will get there in the end it just takes me a while until i am satisfied with it, blimey i sound terrible haha.

and no decs up in this house yet, usually put them up 12 days before xmas.

we had a little bit of snow last night, and its still freezing

gomummygo · 27/11/2010 18:10

12 days before Christmas is a neat idea Tiredmum. So is it a democracy in your house with DH voting on names or do you get to make the final call? Grin

A-lee-see-uh is nice, do you have a middle name?

Teaandcakeplease · 27/11/2010 19:18

Hello ladies Sad Sore throat is mega ouchy tonight. My tree went up today as DD wanted it to and loved decorating it. This is the earliest it has ever been done here but I thought why not. But DS now considers it his challenge to be a pain in the neck constantly navigate the assault course I've out in front of it to try and grab the baubles

OP posts:
Teaandcakeplease · 27/11/2010 19:18

hmmm try that again be a pain in the neck

Of course i get the final say gomummy Grin, dh is fine with that, i had thought of jane as a middle name, or something short like that.

tea i hope you feel better, ds2 is ill at mo, had thursday and friday off school, will see how it goes for next week, that's if it doesn't snow properly anyway as the school will shut

Teaandcakeplease · 27/11/2010 19:53

My middle name is Jane Smile

OP posts:
CheerfulYank · 27/11/2010 19:58

Alicia Jane yourlastname sounds nice! I like it :)

Tiredmumno1 · 27/11/2010 21:20

How weird was that tea, lol, i must have taste Grin

thanks cheerful, i thought it rolls off the tongue nicely, so its one to consider, does that mean we all agree on the girls name Grin

Teaandchristmascakeplease · 27/11/2010 21:24

Do you want to know my first name? Grin

It's Katharine Jane [surname]

I do like Alicia though, I had a lovely friend called that when I was a wee one.

Tiredmumno1 · 27/11/2010 21:29

Your name is lovely tea, i had a friend at school with the same first name, she was the brainy one Grin, and one of my cousins is called jane.

how is noah doin now?

Teaandchristmascakeplease · 27/11/2010 21:32

I'm not brainy - is it because I've been called Kathy since 11 and not my full name?

Noah is gaining weight well but SIL gave up on BF as he caused her so much pain with his bad latch and kept pulling off screaming. He was fed by tube and then bottle in hospital for 7 weeks and never seemed to master latching and feeding despite many attempts by counselors, hv etc. So in the end SIL found it too stressful on getting him home and called it quits bless her.

Hmmmm should I ask mumsnet to delete my post with my name in? Nahhhhhh it's the buddy bench Wink

Tiredmumno1 · 27/11/2010 21:40

Lol tea you do make me giggle, i bet you are brainy you just wont admit it Grin

glad to hear noah is doing well, its ok that he didnt want to or couldnt bf, sometimes babies are like that anyway, and if its draining on your sil its the best choice, ds1 didnt take to bfing, ds2 did bf and bottle feed, so it just shows all babies are different.

hows about adam for a boy?

gomummygo · 27/11/2010 21:47

Yep, I like it too Tiredmum. Goes well together.

So does yours Tea! I am partial to Jane as I had a lovely friend by that name.

DS also had a wonderful time decorating the tree, and is now enacting an assault on the bottom (sacrificial, plastic) portion. Doesn't look like my usual tree, but he's happy. :)

Teaandchristmascakeplease · 27/11/2010 22:23

Oh yum GoMummy!

Yes my boy keeps trying to attack the tree, hoping the novelty will wear off soon.

Adam is nice Tiredmum, like it a lot!

Tiredmumno1 · 27/11/2010 22:32

Yummy cheesecake, thanks gomummy, sounds like your ds is having a fun day, as long as he is happy then its all good.

Tea i hope the tree makes it til xmas if your ds likes to attack it Grin i am sure the novelty will wear off.

so we have two names for contenders now, well at least i made progress Grin

gomummygo · 27/11/2010 22:37

Tea I hope your SIL was not too down about Noah not bf. DS was early (but not nearly as early as Noah) and had a lot of difficulty at first. Had a great lactation consultant, probably couldn't have got going without her as they were horrid at the hospital. In the end we both loved it for well over a year! Shock I couldn't believe it considering what a rough start we'd had.

PLEASE eat this cake people, I am on my third slice! Blush

Another pro-Adam vote Tiredmum, very nice. Only Adams I know of were in the Bible and on Corrie. Sounds like a strong name to me. Would you have a J middle name?

Ahhh, the novelty has not yet worn off, but now all decorations at the bottom of the tree are clustered in one spot, lol! (A vast improvement over the previous mission of hanging them over the cat's tail!)

gomummygo · 27/11/2010 22:41

You must eat this, it's the law of pregnancy that you must have copious amounts of cheesecake you know!
