Come hither all those who haven't found their place on mumsnet, have scrapped in Aibu or crossed words in chat. The buddy bench shalt not judge.

The buddy bench will hand out wine and cakes, it will join you on your scoffathons getting pissed

All those who enter the Gazebo and sit on the bench, will have their sins erased and be given a warm welcome and cheerful chat from CheerfulYank, gomummy, tired mum, Elmo, AF, HE, Cheesey and far, far too many more to mention.

Welcome to the buddy bench, we look forward to meeting you all Smile

Oh and don't forget, last one to leave polishes bench and locks up !

They're always busiest on the days when you need them to calm down and play nicely, aren't they tea? Good luck with your cleaning!

We have Montessori schools too, gomummy. Some are very, very good. Also pretty expensive here!

elmofan · 11/11/2010 16:05

Ooh sounds like you've got a fun night ahead to look forward to Smile . Toddlers eh Hmm get up to all sorts of mischief Grin .

gomummygo · 11/11/2010 23:08

Evening all, been very busy this Remembrance Day, , have probably missed you all for the night. Hope things settled down for you Tea, what Cheerful said (always on the busiest days...) is so spot on in this house!

Elmo I have missed your thread but glad to hear you survived it! :) Hopefully you have survived those winds as well!

Hope you and bump are well!

Tiredmumno1 · 12/11/2010 00:00

This weather is bloody horrid Sad

But i have been trying to stay in a bit more, i hope it settles soon.

The boys have been busy fighting over football cards tonight, its always crazy in this house Grin

Me and bump are fine

We call it Veteran's Day here, gomummy. The second graders did a program yesterday. We've been practicing for weeks and the songs are totally stuck in my head. There was an insanely catchy one called "Here's to the Veterans" that I'm convinced I'll be singing til my dying day. :)

We're supposed to get a load of snow in the next few weeks; luckily I have plans to buy a new winter coat this weekend. Always makes the cold weather a little more bearable.

Teaandcakeplease · 12/11/2010 18:14

My son is driving me bonkers

Right back at ya cheerful Wink

Tea i didnt get to your other post before you found it, so glad you did. I hope you are having a relaxing evening now

Cheerful I had wondered if your Veteran's Day was the same as our Remembrance Day, thank you for demystifying it for me! Grin I know what you mean on the songs sticking, for me it is "One Tin Soldier" that is a continual refrain in my head this time of year. My own fault as I played it on DS' recording keyboard and he loves it and keeps making it play over and over, and over. And over.

Hope you get a great winter coat, a very key element in enjoying the winter! Please don't send any of that snow my way though, I'm still trying to figure out how to send mine to Tea. Grin

Just saw your thread and literally LOL Tea, I have to do the same with all the toys and everything at night. I absolutely tore the house apart one night for the second half of a toy set. It is Blush how frustrated I was that I couldn't find it! I finally phoned DH, who was working late that night, only to find that DS had put it in his briefcase that morning! Very sad how relieved I was...very sad...Blush...DH still refers to the "incident!"

Tiredmum can I ask how many weeks you are now?

gomummygo · 12/11/2010 23:08

Woah big rambling post! Blush

Teaandcakeplease · 13/11/2010 07:47

Blows kisses back Grin

Yes GoMummy I can drive myself a bit mad looking for missing things. Sometimes I can manage to think logically that it'll turn up sometimes, but I don't like it Grin

elmofan · 13/11/2010 19:47

Blows sloppy kisses to everyone Grin

Hows the weekend going so far for you all ?

Teaandcakeplease · 13/11/2010 22:04

Quiet one here; we went to the park with the DCs and fed ducks whilst there. It's a pretty place over by St Albans where there's a man made lake and the cathedral at the top of the hill, so very picturesque (sp?) DS threw an enormous tantrum as I wouldn't let him grab a little boys ball and run off with it and he also kept trying to grab other peoples balls too. Note to self: always take a ball to the park for your son. Except I'm sure he'd still find everyone elses more interesting than his own Confused Toddlers eh? Who'd have em'? Wink So despite my attempts at distraction etc I had to endure a whopper of a tantrum for 10 minutes with lots of cats bum faces from onlookers Blush But it was a nice time and we all enjoyed the fresh air I think. Away to bed I think to read a book and snuggle down.

elmofan · 13/11/2010 22:41

Aw tantrum aside sounds like you had a lovely day Smile.
Do you know if legoland is nice tea? Dh suggested earlier that it might be a nice place to take ds &dd next summer for a few days.

gomummygo · 14/11/2010 00:28

Late to the bench again!

Envy Elmo - Legoland? DS would go wild with excitement!

Sounds like a nice day Tea, plus hopefully the DCs will sleep well after all the fresh air! :)

Teaandcakeplease · 14/11/2010 07:51

Elmo I worked there when it first opened for 4 years Grin It's great, better to go in low season though and on an inset day etc. It can get quite busy in High Season with big queues for each ride. It's a great place though.

GoMummy look here

OP posts:
gomummygo · 14/11/2010 15:57

Thanks Tea! Oh my, DS would be in heaven. What a fun looking place!

elmofan · 14/11/2010 22:36

Aw thanks tea Smile

what a great job that must have been Grin
I reckon the dc's would love it there.

Teaandcakeplease · 15/11/2010 07:14

It's not that far from me, if you come over we should meet up whilst you're here Smile

CheerfulYank · 15/11/2010 16:05

We have a Legoland at the Mall of America; it's amazing and DS looooves it. :)

Hello, all! Just wanted to pop in and say hi, I'm having a bloody awful day at work so far. :( But! We have Friday off this week so I've got that to look forward to. Yay!

elmofan · 15/11/2010 19:45

Aw that would be fab tea Smile now all we need is to find a way to get gomummy, cheerful & tiredmum over & we can have a buddy bench meet up Grin .

gomummygo · 15/11/2010 20:54

Well Elmo we have a loosely arranged plan to get there, but it does require one of us to win the lottery! Grin

Envy that you have a LegoLand too Cheerful! Sorry to hear your day is not going well though. Is your Friday off for Thanksgiving? Yours must be coming up soon?

That boy gets taller every day! Soon I will have nowhere that is out of reach!

CheerfulYank · 16/11/2010 00:55

Oooh, sounds divine! I am used to little boy finger marks everywhere and wouldn't even give it a second thought :)

...I should research it and start saving. Perhaps I'd be able to make it for my 40th birthday! :o

Teaandcakeplease · 16/11/2010 18:49

Sounds delicious GoMummy even with the finger hole. I now have a stairgate on my kitchen due to my DS.

Lost DS beloved comforter yesterday and the only website I've found that stocks the exact item doesn't seem to want to work for me when I order sad And he's sleeping terribly without it. Gah! I haven't had a chance to catch up on here yet, so this is a selfish me me me post, but hello ladies!

I've tried e-mailing the company, calling them 6 or 7 times but no one answers Sad

Amazon sell similar bunnies but they're too big as his is only 10cm and is a mini kaloo blue rabbit chubby, looks like the one on the right in this photo
