Come hither all those who haven't found their place on mumsnet, have scrapped in Aibu or crossed words in chat. The buddy bench shalt not judge.

The buddy bench will hand out wine and cakes, it will join you on your scoffathons getting pissed

All those who enter the Gazebo and sit on the bench, will have their sins erased and be given a warm welcome and cheerful chat from CheerfulYank, gomummy, tired mum, Elmo, AF, HE, Cheesey and far, far too many more to mention.

Welcome to the buddy bench, we look forward to meeting you all Smile

Oh and don't forget, last one to leave polishes bench and locks up !

Any snow yet?

gomummygo · 17/10/2010 23:16

Not real snow yet at our house (just wet sleet-like stuff), but my mum had it last weekend and brother did this week. Didn't stay though, thankfully. Hoping it holds off until November at least!

Grin

Is Christmas white over there?

Bloodandsnakesplease · 17/10/2010 23:26

Not really. I think it almost could have been last year though but the snow just missed it if I recall correctly Hmm

Must go to bed really, wasting time on here just reading random threads tonight to kill time.

Bloodandsnakesplease · 17/10/2010 23:27

Caveat: This thread isn't random though Smile

gomummygo · 17/10/2010 23:51

Nighty night then Tea! :)

elmofang · 18/10/2010 10:51

Good morning everyone Smile

Ive had a rough start to the morning , DD hasn't been too well over the weekend , slight temp on Friday & saturday nights but seemed much better in herself yesterday although her cough is back . She wanted to go to school this morning as the photographer was due to take their photo's in school , so did her hair in ringlets & she looked lovely , got to the school & she started to cry & cling to me . We coaxed her to have 1 photo taken Grin then the principal told me it was OK to take her back home with me . So she's now at home in a great mood playing & painting Hmm . Taking her to my GP later for a check up .

Hope your feeling better gomummy , migraines can be very sickening . x

CheerfulYank · 18/10/2010 14:50

Our groceries are put in brown paper bags here, gomummy. :) Should I send you some? Oh and we do pumpkin seeds here, yummy! I read recently that there actually is a great health benefit to them-iron or something? Confused

Hope your DD feels better elmo. DS got his first school pictures taken this year and I can't WAIT to see them.

I can send you some snow if you like, tea, we're likely to have it waist-high this year. :)

Where's tiredmum got to?

CheerfulYank · 18/10/2010 16:01

Ooh, gomummy, we also have the small lunch-sized paper sacks, which are thinner and easier to crumple. Also perfect for making paper bag puppets! Do you have those? I will totally send you some if you don't. (I just sent a package off to Sidge on Friday, it makes me feel worldly. :o)

elmofang · 18/10/2010 17:17

Thanks cheerful x im just back from the doctors with dd & the poor thing has a chest , ear & throat infection Sad ive been told to keep her off school until after the Halloween mid term .
At least she will be home to help put up all the Halloween decorations Smile

gomummygo · 18/10/2010 18:31

Grin Cheerful you have made my day telling me that pumpkin seeds are healthy! I am Envy that you get your groceries in paper bags! We have to bring our own cloth bags or pay a fee per bag for plastic. We used to get paper bags years ago and they were great for crafts, as well as starting fires! This morning DS and I have gone to town and have found these lunch-sized paper sacks you speak of, at Walmart, with the lunch bags! Thank you so much for the offer to send them though! :) I bet your DS' first school pictures will make you well up. OK, they'd make ME well up!

Elmo your poor DD! :( Guess that means more antibiotics too. Sending get-well-soon vibes!

CheerfulYank · 19/10/2010 01:29

Oh I will totally cry when I see DS's pictures! He's only three! How did it happen that he's old enough for school pics? :( Oooh good, I'm glad you found the lunch bags. I need to stock up on them myself...it's been awhile since we've had a good dragon puppet making session at my house. :)

Aw, your poor DD Elmo! Hope she feels better soon. Those chest/throat things get so yucky in the winter.

Tiredmumno1 · 19/10/2010 20:20

CheerfulYank · 20/10/2010 14:48

Delicious cookies tiredmum! I did miss you! :)

Gomummy we made our leaf garland yesterday afternoon and hung it up-it's gorgeous I must say. :o Smudgy paint, lots of glitter...love it!

We have MEB (Minnesota Education Break) tomorrow and Friday, so no work for me! YAY! Of course I don't get paid, but the long weekend is worth it IMO.

Tiredmumno1 · 20/10/2010 21:02

Ooo cheerful, it must be lovely to get a couple of days off, i hope you are resting or having fun

Morning Buddy Benchers! :) Been having internet connection problems here but hopefully all is well now!

Cheerful your garland sounds great! Fall rocks. I am having far too much fun for an adult...jumping in piles of leaves with DS. Blush

Tiredmum I have not seen HE in a long time? Had also sent her a fb message and not heard back quite a while ago, hope everything is ok...

Have not seen Elmo in a bit, hope DD is improving.

Oooh just went to post message and saw those little hats, so I have to do a [hsmile]

elmofang · 21/10/2010 20:08

Hello Smile thanks for all the good wishes .Have not had much of a chance to pop on to the PC . DD is thankfully on the mend but still not eating very much , We have been snuggled up on the sofa watching lots of Disney movies all week Grin .
How is everyone ?

x

CheerfulYank · 21/10/2010 20:31

Thanks Elmo! Glad to hear DD's feeling better.

It is quite a garland, gomummy, if I do say so myself! :) My mom and dad have decided to come to our house for Thanksgiving next month, so some turkey place mats will be coming up on the craft agenda!

Hi Tea! How's it going? Is it getting chilly where you are yet? Hi Tiredmum, wish one day you'd look out those binoculars and see me coming! I've really had a travel itch lately. Don't know where I want to go, just somewhere different. I can't afford it, but if I ever win the lottery that'll be the first thing I do. How's that bump coming along? I'm so excited for you!

I was just wondering about HE too. Hope she's all right? Probably just busy.

gomummygo · 21/10/2010 21:13

Mmm, thanks Elmo! :) Glad to hear your DD is on the mend.

Argh, it is snowing here right now, and hard. Big fat snow. Grr, it is not even November. It will not stay, but still, I am just not ready for it yet...

How nice that your family is coming for Thanksgiving Cheerful. I highly recommend the painted-handprint-turkey. Or the cutout-traced-hand-turkey. I do have far too much fun decorating with DS! Grin

Tiredmumno1 · 21/10/2010 21:27

Hi tea, gomummy, cheerful and elmo (thanks for the hot choccy)

Tiredmumno1 · 21/10/2010 21:31

won not one - whoops lol

Teaandcakeplease · 21/10/2010 22:28

Last night Cheerful we did have frost and it did go into minus figures - just. We work in centigrade here though. No idea what it is in farenheight (sp?)

Must go to bed, so tired. The Turkey stuff sounds great, could do with that sort of idea for my two, it's half term next week, so nothing on Sad
