mumjustmum · 07/03/2021 17:12

Tomorrow, I'm going sober. Nothing. Not one. No NA drinks either. Just need to change this horrific habit and addiction I've allowed myself into. Today I will drink 4 bottles of wine. I look and feel
Terrible.
Anyone with me?

I am in
I drink way too much atthe weekends and end up feeling rubbish. This is my day one

mumjustmum · 07/03/2021 18:16

Welcome! As in, you're on your day one now? Or tomorrow? Either way, well done: we need to fix this

Sharpasknives · 07/03/2021 18:36

My day 1 today. I have given my partner all my bank cards and credit cards so i cannot buy any.

mumjustmum · 07/03/2021 18:51

@Sharpasknives sounds like you will be well on the road to recovery then! Is your partner supportive? Is he around for the next few
Days? Deleted your phone Apple Pay?

OP posts:
Sharpasknives · 07/03/2021 18:54

Apple pay deleted and i tunes password changed by him at my request so i cant download it again. He’s supportive as he cant cope with daytime drinking 2 bottles of wine and raging at him as soon as he walks in

Sharpasknives · 07/03/2021 18:57

It was nice today as I couldn’t do the weekly shop as i had no means to pay.Smile Ive filled my car up so really i shouldnt need money this week . I just hate the person it makes me. I can’t remember what i say and im sick of hiding empty bottles

nimbuscloud · 07/03/2021 19:02

Today I will drink 4 bottles of wine.

Do you drink that much every day?
Are you stopping with medical supervision?

mumjustmum · 07/03/2021 19:09

@Sharpasknives that's great news, you are so positive! Well done you. Any plans for tomorrow?

OP posts:
mumjustmum · 07/03/2021 19:10

@nimbuscloud no, ive done if before and I'll do to again.

Champagneandmonstermunch · 07/03/2021 19:16

Well done on deciding to stop, but if you are drinking four bottles of wine a day it will be really dangerous for you to stop cold turkey. Can you get to the GP and get some help to stop safely?

Sharpasknives · 07/03/2021 19:16

It was the only way. Im wfh tomorrow . We can do this

mumjustmum · 07/03/2021 19:19

Honestly @Champagneandmonstermunch I totally understand what you're saying, but I don't get the shakes too badly, and can easily restrain before midday. I'll be okay thank you otherwise I'd have asked for family help

OP posts:
Sharpasknives · 07/03/2021 19:24

Mumjustmum ive only had the shakes after a very heavy session and little sleep

mumjustmum · 07/03/2021 19:25

I'm going to bed drunk obviously. In the morning I'll wake up all groggy etc, but I won't drink tomorrow. I won't

OP posts:
Secretsquirrelsbuddy · 07/03/2021 19:31

Good luck everyone. We can do this

Secretsquirrelsbuddy · 07/03/2021 19:32

I will be ok till Friday. I never drink Sunday till Thursday and then I knock it back at weekends. I hate myself for it and am so ashamed. I have no alcohol in the house so my plan is to stay well clear of any shops

Lobsterquadrille2 · 07/03/2021 19:32

Hi @mumjustmum - very best of luck to you. I've been in AA for many years but I remember getting through four bottles of wine a day and it was hell. I did have hallucinations and seizures when I stopped too suddenly, but I appreciate that you say that you've been at this level before and have been ok with cutting down. I would just say to take it very easy tomorrow and let people you trust know what you're doing; ideally don't be alone for the next three days, and drink a LOT of water, and get some sweets in to replenish the sugar that you won't be having.

Sharpasknives · 07/03/2021 19:35

One day at a time

FourteenthDoctor · 07/03/2021 23:00

Good luck everyone

patrickbatemansbusinesscard · 07/03/2021 23:20

Can I join please...

Had my last drink on Thursday, hungover Friday got a call from GP with blood results from the day before, serious liver concerns.

I'm 40 years old Sad

mumjustmum · 08/03/2021 05:41

Thanks @Lobsterquadrille2 I will definitely drink lots of water and pick up some sweets after the nursery run.

@patrickbatemansbusinesscard welcome aboard! Has your GP given you anything to help?

Day 0 today, and I'm feeling so positive. I've got a headache and I'm shattered, but so desperate to be free of this horrid addiction

Luffsmypup · 08/03/2021 06:43

I was going to wish you good luck but you don’t need luck, you need to work very hard.

But you will succeed, one day at a time.

You, your kids and family life will be so much happier. Take care of yourself.

mumjustmum · 08/03/2021 06:43

Thank you @Luffsmypup
