Not really re only skipping carbs in some meals, I wish! Although that probably reduces calories overall so maybe it does?!

NC4, impressive stats!

Frouby · 06/02/2020 16:44

I love carbs far too much to even think about missing them out. Though bread sticks to my ribs.

Sorry about your mam madame fingers crossed it isn't as bad as you fear.

Been super busy today but not really achieved much. Loads of fiddly bits to do for work but its done now. Feel a but sorry for myself as period turned up and I feel crampy and bloated. Have that gym class tonight as well which I now regret committing to but know I will be fine once am there. Will be AF at least and period would have been perfect excuse for a gin.

Not sure when to eat tonight. Dont want a full tummy for gym but it doesn't finish while 9pm and that seems far too late to eat. Might have it with ds about 6pm. Got dd to drop at dragonboating at 5.30 then pick up at 7pm then leave for gym at 7.55pm so in and out all bloody night lol.

OP posts:
Dionysa · 06/02/2020 21:02

I am still here, but struggling with various things to do with DD. I will be back. Not remotely AF.

longestlurkerever · 06/02/2020 21:17

Sorry to hear that Dion. Anything you want to talk about?

Checking in for bored day 4. Honestly not sure what to do with myself except go to bed.

Accidentalaccountant · 06/02/2020 22:26

AF. 1st this year. Shocking really.

Waterandlemonjuice · 06/02/2020 23:09

Frouby, sympathy on period. Hope the gym was ok.

Dionysa, sorry things are difficult.

Accidental well done on being AF

Dd and I have been watching Queer Eye tonight, I’ve never seen it before, ahh, such heart warming tv! Very cheering.

AF but still feeling bloated. GP gave me HRT and says I may get a period as a result, which I want, I feel like I need it to happen. She also took blood to test for thyroid, ovarian cancer and hormone levels. Bit scary but I’m glad I went, will start using it all tomorrow.

longestlurkerever · 07/02/2020 10:18

How was the gym, Frouby?

Friday night. Not going to be AF and going to make roast chicken and aubergines with guacamole and aioli. Tbh i am loving dh being on this new diet as it makes q welcome change from sodding fish and rice, but he is suffering atm. Fx a transition period but feels a bit weird just to chuck out everything we have learned about how to control his symptoms and do the opposite.

Babysitting again tomorrow for different friends so will be AF but it had better be easier than last week or I'm going on strike. Is only next door, which is good.

Taking the kids to a puppet show tomorrow morning but dunno what else. Friend invited me to a national trust property again but they're members and i am not so it's an expensive day out, and a bit of a hike. Would like to see them though. Mind you i invited them to the puppet show and they didn't bite so i shouldn't feel guilty.

Waterandlemonjuice · 07/02/2020 12:02

Morning all.

I hope the babysitting is less stressful than the last time longest.

I won’t be AF tonight, we are having Indian and watching a film. But that’s been 4 days AF this week so I’m quite pleased with that.

I’m going to do 5 days next week, so the mission is Sunday - Thursday AF. Happy Friday everyone.

Waterandlemonjuice · 07/02/2020 12:04

Longest when I first dod high fat, low carb, no sugar I felt rough briefly but then felt great. I’m quite looking forward to doing the 5:2 again, I’m going to start next week. So I’ll be low carb, Mediterranean diet too.

Frouby · 07/02/2020 15:55

longest we didn't go in the end 🙈. Cousin who I was going with didn't want to go as she had a load of last minute work come in. Was glad really, felt really grotty and bluergh so stayed in, wasn't completely dry but only had 1 beer so not horrendous.

Had a dramatic start to the day. Could hear a loud buzzing, went to investigate and found a huge bumble bee in the bathroom. Think it must have been hibernating, came out in the warm sunshine yesterday afternoon then realised that spring hasnt actually sprung so found its way in through the bathroom window which I leave open in the day and must have hid somewhere and come out in the night. Luckily dh hadn't keft for work so we managed to capture it without hurting it and released it.

Dh squealed like a baby though lol. Was funny watching a hairy arsed 6ft builder fighting with a fluffy flying hamster.

Then after that dd came downstairs like a dying swan. Burning up so sent her back to bed with paracetamol. Had blacksmith for ponies, did some washing and tidying then time to pick ds up. Just not enough hours in the day.

Won't be AF or even moderate tonight cos Friday Grin.

Happy Friday night, tryers. Just about to have a glass of wine. Feels spring like and cheerful, though i know a storm is on its way.

Handyman has done a good job on cellar and made a good start on wall. Garden looks pretty nice actually, partly because he's moved all the little tykes junk and swept the patio! Dd1 wants to do a car boot sale so perhaps I'll let her crack on.

NC4Now · 07/02/2020 23:37

Well I’ve tried and failed to post twice. Maybe MN doesn’t like my pics.
I love the spring. I’ve been wearing warm tights and sunglasses the last few days. My favourite. It really lifts the spirits!
I was walking to work yesterday, ponytail swinging, Pixies on my headphones, and feeling really rooted. The way I walk I’ve done for 30 odd years. I’ve been away and come back several times, but it’s home.
It’s a funny feeling, love and loss and optimism and hope and joy. I don’t get this in Autumn.
It seems a little sunshine is all it takes

Waterandlemonjuice · 08/02/2020 10:13

Hi everyone. Frouby lol,at your dh squealing at a bumblebee.

NC4, you sound optimistic and cheerful 😀

Had a nice evening, long chat with a friend on the phone, watched a film with dh and drank loads of wine. Also drank lots of water so no hangover. My blood tests are back and normal except for slightly raised thyroid but she says retest in 6 weeks and see how it looks. So that’s nice! Ovarian cancer test completely fine so I’m very happy about that.

longestlurkerever · 08/02/2020 11:39

Oh that's great news water! Glad to hear everyone sounding cheerful. I didn't sleep too well- lots of anxiety dreams- but i have been to park run and lovely puppet show si this morning has been good so far.

longestlurkerever · 08/02/2020 19:31

And this babysitting is more like it. Logburner on. Cats snoozing next to me. Kids made polite chit chat and have now scarpered. Need to get application done but could easily have a snooze.

longestlurkerever · 08/02/2020 20:17

Only thing is, AF ambition thwarted as they poured me a class of wine, though will obviously stick at the one. Wasn't planning to be AF tomorrow or Monday either but will aim for tue-thurs

Frouby · 08/02/2020 20:20

Evening all.

All battened down here ready for the storm. Not been dry but 1 large wine and 2 beers is fairly moderate. Had king prawn, garlic and chilli linguine for dinner. Was lush but recipe needed something more so lobbed half a tub of Philadelphia in.

Ds says he's not feeling well with a bad tummy ache. He's a bit prone to upchucking so taking sick bucket to bed 🤮.

Stay safe in the storm, been following the weather thread on here. Wind just starting to pick up here.

OP posts:
longestlurkerever · 08/02/2020 20:39

You too Frouby, and hope ds stays well. Linguine sounds yum, but i can barely move after Turkish mixed grill at lunchtime. Was supposed to be too share but kids didn't eat much meat and dh swerved the bread and rice.

Just burned my hand on sodding woodburner. Own stupid fault i suppose, touched the handle rather than using the silly tool i now see is meant for the purpose. Neighbours' house feels more solid than mine somehow. I suspect they did it up on less of a shoestring.

MadameF · 08/02/2020 22:26

Hello all
Water Great that your tests were all ok. I hope the HRT works for you. I'm very lucky that I never needed it (at least so far)
Frouby I hope DS is OK
Longest ouch for the wood burner. It's frustrating that not all wood burners have the same type of handles, glad that babysitting is better this time round
NC4 spring is lovely, just too early this year!

On the ferry to the UK. Fortunately the storm hasn't hit the south quite yet and the crossing hasn't been to rough. Not looking forward to the crossing back on Monday, the morning ferry has already been cancelled which is a real pain as I work Monday pm and evening.
One glass of wine, so moderating compared to what I'd have drunk if I was at home (friends were due to come for dinner).

MadameF · 08/02/2020 22:31

What has happened to Dairy Milk chocolate? It tastes different 🤢

longestlurkerever · 08/02/2020 23:46

There are lots of threads about that Mme! Apparently Kraft bought out Cadbury and changed the recipe. Portent of our trade policies....

Are you on your way to visit your mum? Sending love and hope you gey home safely.

I have sent off application for Edinburgh job. Was a bit half arsed but so is my ambition I think.

Waterandlemonjuice · 09/02/2020 00:10

Madame, welcome back to England, I hope the weather settles down for you, it’s v windy here, I wouldnt have fancied a ferry crossing tonight. I hope it goes ok, seeing your mum 💐

NC4Now · 09/02/2020 10:29

Yes, welcome to England Madame - you picked your timing, didn’t you?
DS1 has a day’s work today, labouring, but the trains were cancelled so I’ve had to drive him to Blackpool. It’s vile. When I got home the firemen had shut our road and were directing people round. It’s all flooded. I don’t think it will reach my house, but it’s never been this bad in years.
I just hope DS1 can get home later 😬

longestlurkerever · 09/02/2020 10:50

Eek NC4, take care! I have declared today a pyjama day and i am not going anywhere unless the wind dies down. Might have the girl next door over to play and make cakes or something. Had to clear yet more stuff for the handymen anyway. Shame i won't get to go swimming though.

NC4Now · 09/02/2020 11:10

The way things are looking, I might be going swimming Longest 😂
