I gave birth yesterday and immediately relinquished responsibility. I have so much going round in my head right now that I hope no-one minds if I blurt it out here.
I will be speaking with social workers tomorrow so I want to think of as many questions as possible. I know without a doubt I am doing the right thing. He will go to a foster family for a few weeks until new parents are found (I was in denial about the pregnancy until only a couple ofdays ago)
How quickly will he be found a new family? Will the new family be in my local area? Should I write him a letter explaining my life circumstances and his birth story? Should I get him a keepsake? Is letterbox contact the best thing for him and his new family? Thats all I want. What is best for him. I want to do whatever is best so he can grow up not feeling abandoned or deserted. I want him to know I love him but I want him to have the best life possible.
Please tell me there are parents/a parent out there who are just about to receive into their life the most perfect beautiful boy, and they will be kind and loving and settled.
Sorry for the brain dump - I've been awake for hours and this is all going round in my head.

Got to get used to typing one handed again!
Thankyou all again so much. Especially to those at the start of the thread who shared their stories of adoption, I don't think I properly acknowledged those posts but Thankyou for telling me of your experiences.
Got to say swell that the foster family were amazing. What a fantastic thing the foster mum (& her dh and DC) in looking after ds for me, and also telling me that whilst my sw has been crap, her experiences are usually much more positive. It was very emotional saying goodbye to her yesterday but I will keep her updated with DS's progress.
What a six weeks it has been! I probably won't update this thread again - sure I'll find myself on the sleepless threads or precious last born threads! Grin

Oh I'm so thrilled to read this lovely update.
Thank you for coming back to let us know, you have had a place in our hearts ever since your first post so ok sure I'm not the only one who has been thinking of you and wondering how things are going.

I understand you probably not posting here again-it must feel somewhat strange to be posting on a thread about adoption when things have now moved on for you so much-and in the most wonderful way too!

I hope that all the rest if the pieces of the puzzle re housing, etc, fall smoothly in to place for you all.

:)

Just come across this thread in Active and read the whole thing - Firstly huge congratulations to you on getting little boy back and secondly a massive WELL DONE for all you have been through. You have been so strong in such terrible circumstances and despite having been treated so shoddily by SS

Just wanted to wish you and your family all the very best for the future together Thanks

I know I said I wouldn't update anymore but the little tyke won't sleep - he wants to be nestled into my neck :) :) I love him. I actually love him. despite shit night sleep last night (ie NO sleep!) I am doing this, and I know I can keep on doing it. He is really the most beautiful baby (I've thought that before then looked back on photos 2 years later and realised I was deluded - but this time I know its true ;) ) , How could I have ever thought of not having him with me. How stupid was i! He couldn't go anywhere else. I am going to hide this thread now or I will be always updating it with silly ramblings :) I'll keep it for DS to read one day tho,
Thanks again everyone
x
