I gave birth yesterday and immediately relinquished responsibility. I have so much going round in my head right now that I hope no-one minds if I blurt it out here.
I will be speaking with social workers tomorrow so I want to think of as many questions as possible. I know without a doubt I am doing the right thing. He will go to a foster family for a few weeks until new parents are found (I was in denial about the pregnancy until only a couple ofdays ago)
How quickly will he be found a new family? Will the new family be in my local area? Should I write him a letter explaining my life circumstances and his birth story? Should I get him a keepsake? Is letterbox contact the best thing for him and his new family? Thats all I want. What is best for him. I want to do whatever is best so he can grow up not feeling abandoned or deserted. I want him to know I love him but I want him to have the best life possible.
Please tell me there are parents/a parent out there who are just about to receive into their life the most perfect beautiful boy, and they will be kind and loving and settled.
Sorry for the brain dump - I've been awake for hours and this is all going round in my head.

Another one here wishing your lovely family all the best for your bright future together. I'm so pleased you're keeping your little boy - you sound like a brilliant mother.

KaFayOLay · 20/06/2014 16:54

Delurking - I am made up that things are working out for you and your family.
You have done brilliantly to behave in a patient and rational manner despite raging pregnancy hormones.

So happy for you!

Bright did say that she had accomodation problems so its probably a really busy time trying to sort things to the satisfaction of children's services

spiderlight · 25/06/2014 20:23

I hope it's all going well. Thinking of you, Bright.

HappySunflower · 25/06/2014 20:42

From her last post, I very much had the impression that Bright was feeling a lot stronger, and that she would be back with an update once her ds was home :)
If and when you read this, I wonder if you might prefer the thread title to be changed now that things have moved on a bit for you.

BrightSunshineyDay · 04/07/2014 15:36

Just wanted to give a small update.
Things are going in the right direction. Had LAC review yesterday. Was actually really good. Ds will be returned to me in next few weeks (have found a house to rent) but it will be done with the support of ss and be as smooth as possible taking into account my other DC - they will meet him in the next week.
The IRO was disgusted at how little I am seeing ds so that should be sorted asap.
They called us a lovely family who had been through a rough time Blush and they wanted ds reunited with me asap.
My friend attended meeting with me and we both voiced our concerns that we would just be left to it once ds returned. They assured me that wouldn't happen.
Thankyou all so much for your support and your PM's - sorry I haven't replied to all of them.
And Thankyou to one awesome MNer who has taken the time to phone me and message me and listen to my irrational ramblings. Ds and I will be paying you a visit to swing on your chair ;)
Reading this thread back has been like reading about another person. I don't recognise the person who wrote the op.
So Thankyou . Thankyou all. Whether you shared your experiences of adoption or your legal knowledge - it has been a huge massive help :)
