Just wondering as I never have due to horror stories. Have you ever done one and did anything weird happen?

Just for fun stories and curiosity 😁

My brother told me that a group he knew did one and all of the windows in the room fell inwards at the same time. I must ask him if that was true!

moggerhanger · 02/10/2026 22:21

Yes, and nothing, obviously. Cos it's a load of old horlicks.

PinkCatCushion · 02/10/2026 22:21

No. I’d never mess with that sort of stuff.

VivIsBlonde · 02/10/2026 22:22

Yes, all the time when we were younger and no nothing happened which we were very disappointed about 🤣

Guidanceplease20 · 02/10/2026 22:24

Yes, as a young teen. With mates at their house. A cup moved across the table.

Always thought it was one of the others that did it. Makes more sense than it being paranormal as a result of a few kids sat in the dark saying wooo woo woo.

Blackwidowsbite · 02/10/2026 22:25

That’s one thing I would not fuck about with! No no no 😂

Snoopystick · 02/10/2026 22:27

Yes at Uni years ago in my room in halls. We asked the ‘spirit’ to draw itself on a bit of paper. There were 4 of us with a finger holding the pen up the sides and it drew a crude drawing of a child like figure. Don’t know how we could have done that without something being there. It felt like we were there for an hour but around 4 hours passed - very bizarre. Definitely wouldn’t meddle again. I asked to move rooms the day after.

Same, although in a tent on the D of E expedition. The cup moved, and we all swore blind it wasn't us. It was my cup, and they were shocked i drank coffee out of it the next morning, but what else was I going to drink out of! At a 25 year school reunion we all still swore we didn't move it. Odd, you'd think the miscreant would confess after all that time.

MapleCutie · 02/10/2026 22:29

There must be something in it as lots of people won't touch one 🤨

Yes, wish we hadn’t messed and never will again

I was about 15, friends similar age
one of us went into kitchen to get drinks

those left in the dining room had hideous experience with messages from a local child molester

we were all screaming

then person came in from kitchen with drinks and wondered why we were all crying. She had not heard anything in the next room

justasking111 · 02/10/2026 22:33

Yes at school and it read out a name. It was one of the girls mothers who'd died when she was a young child. She was in tears we were all shocked. Never did it again.

murasaki · 02/10/2026 22:37

I sort of don't believe it, but it did move, and surely after so long someone would have fessed up. But they were all totally still saying no, and I believed them. None of us ever tried it again apparently, I think we were all a little scared.

GreengrocersApostrophe · 02/10/2026 22:38

One of my dcs did something, not entirely sure what, trying to talk to spirits, and the next day my other DC saw "me" walk into that dcs bedroom, and followed me in there. Except .. no one was in there, because I was in a different room.

My house is weird anyway, but it was a bit chilling when dc did an impression of how this other me was walking.. creepy.

Strokethefurrywall · 02/10/2026 22:41

Yes around 1996 when we were teens messing around. Didn’t move like we were pushing it, but flew around to the letters of its own accord. Spelled out Kurt Cobain. We figured it wasn’t him cos why would he be hanging out in surrey in 1996?
But whatever/whoever it was led to some creepy shit happening and we ditched it fast after that.

PurpleFlower1983 · 02/10/2026 22:41

Yes but my mate later admitted to pushing it around 🤣

thistimelastweek · 02/10/2026 22:42

PinkCatCushion · 02/10/2026 22:21

No. I’d never mess with that sort of stuff.

Don't ever mess with that sort of stuff because it messes with people who are vulnerable, emotionally, psychologically or whatever.
Doesn't have to be real to cause harm.

Nutmuncher · 02/10/2026 22:45

You open that door and nothing good comes out of it.

Ooh what creepy shit happened??

ToadRage · 02/10/2026 22:45

I would like to do one but only with someone experienced who knows how to close it. The horror storiescond from people who don't know what they are doing and inadvertently release something they shouldn't or leave it open so anything can come through. There used to be someone at my local pagan shop who did them. I hope she starts again.

My husband totally me his gran and her friends were messing around with one once and it getting her turn ti ask a question she said 'what's my real name?' It only got one letter when she got freaked out and left. For context she always went by her middle name.

Solaire18381 · 02/10/2026 22:47

Not myself, I would not and certainly wouldn't allow it in my home. However, years ago some friends of mine did do it, although I wasn't there. It started as a night in, takeaway, chat, wine etc.

I don't think they would lie about it but the glass moved by itself, doors in the house slammed shut. The candles that were lit got extinguished, with no apparent cause. One of them was convinced a few years of bad luck and strange occurrences afterwards was caused by this episode (it was their home, they have since moved).

As I said I don't think they would lie and have vehemently advised us never to dabble in it ourselves. They've never done it since anyhow.

msmillicentcat · 02/10/2026 22:47

We used to do it quite a bit in our teens at one stage. All sorts of things happened, cups moved, we even all took our fingers off the glass and it carried on moving, the lights went off one time. I stopped doing it as I found it too scary. I wouldn’t do it now in my own house.

Orangebadger · 02/10/2026 22:47

Yes when a lot younger and nope nothing ever happened!

DinoLil · 02/10/2026 22:52

Many times. A certain 'celebrity' asked if she could join in one time and travelled from London.

You don't mess with it though. You need to know how to open and close it. Even if you dont give a fig, it can mess your head up if you don't understand it.

Strokethefurrywall · 02/10/2026 22:53

Mirrors cracked, glasses shattered.

My dad did one in 60s and refused to be in the room. His friends asked him to give the oujia board a question only he would know the answer to as a “test” of the board.
He left as soon as it answered the question, as it spelled out the license plate and make/model of my dads parents car in South Africa and it wasn’t something he would have ever told anyone else.

Not to be trifled with.

SweatyChildminder · 02/10/2026 22:59

I did it with some friends in the 90s - something definitely happened…we “talked” to a dear friend who had just passed…I asked him to spell the name of the song I sing to him at his grave - he spelt it - no one knew but me the name of the song…after it went downhill pretty fast and something else was around and when we asked him to spell his name, he spelt : Natas …and we tried to break the glass but the glass wouldn’t break. It messed with my head, I wouldn’t recommend anyone to dab with it
