Yes! I'm a district nurse. When I first started as a young 20 something year old, I bought an A-Z. I'd have to pull over, and be thinking, right that's High street so I need to go past these 3 streets, then right. All the while turning the A-Z around to the right position. Now I plug my phone into my car and Google tells me! I also remember if we're going somewhere new, we'd print directions out from the AA route finder!

I struggled with this, got really into all the open days and very invested in the societies I would join and then kept remembering I'm not the student this time, but surely it's only 30 mins not 30 years since that was me!?
Would go back to uni in a heartbeat 😍

I had something similar happen to me in Next last year. The cashier ended up giving me too much change, which I handed back. I really confused him! I did work in a Londis/spa as a teenager in the 90s, so I was use to people doing this.

I studied history at uni. This is sort of relevant. I was reading an article in the financial press and it said, "At the turn of the century, bond markets were...." and I thought, "Why on earth are they talking about bond markets in 1900....?"

It was sobering.

I'm now a great great aunt x 6 and only late sixties

I got called ‘retro’ by my DB last week as he needed to call me and realised he still had a landline number listed in his phone. For the record it comes free as part of the tv and broadband package we have and we don’t have a physical phone plugged in anymore I’ve just never got round to cancelling it

Actually I can think of another much earlier one. There was a drama about the early days of Morecambe and Wise and the actor playing younger Eric Morecambe (just looked him up. Daniel Rigby born 1982) just straight out said he'd never heard of them as it was before his time. This was in 2011 on BBC breakfast. Naga And Bill were STUNNED.

I literally sent a text to DH this morning about a workman saying “well he’s here, another young lad. We are obviously getting old!” .

As last week we had a different workman who I was surprised at how young he looked. My DH said he’s 35!

Similar here, but a bit more grim. We’re in NI and my eldest was learning about The Troubles in history. Some of the events they discussed still live in my head as if they happened last year. It was utterly surreal.

Looked in the mirror and my mother looked back at me…then, some time later, a younger family member said “you really look like nanny now”. So yeah, I woke up one day and had suddenly aged decades 👵🏻

I am mid 50s and don’t recognise any of those names sorry. I would maybe recognise their faces though, I’m terrible with names.
