My husband (teacher) was using the urinal in the male staff room at work, when a student walked straight in.
Husband said "please leave, this is the staff toilet" to which the "student" replied.....yes I'm the new chemistry teacher. (Age 22!).

My friends new grandchild is called Hilda and all I can think is "Ogden".

I was a similar age when I first started teaching, and the canteen staff thought I was a 6th former for two terms so I got lunch cheap!

Seeing a blue skies and sun and my first thought is that it’s a good day for washing… 🙄

a test to do with your younger people- ask them to mime how they would talk on the phone? My go to is a bunched up fist as in holding the handle of a landline phone or at the least pinky finger and thumb sticking out.. apparently the kids now mime putting their hand flat to mimic a smart phone??!

I actually hold my Smartphone the way I held the "receiver" as a child,

God you all sound young to me!

I went to a small community museum in the Surrey village of Shere. They had things on display there that I remembered from my childhood. Vacuum cleaners with the bag to collect the dust that you connected to a hook at the top of the handle. Mincing machines that you clamped to the edge of the kitchen table and turned the handle. A brace and bit for drilling holes.

Look, this is a bit sad, but I took children on a school journey week to an activity centre near Shere in the late eighties……….
