This is the police escort for the latest small boat arrivals at Gosport tonight.

What on earth is going on with this country?

It’s actually about 50-50, I think, between money that was for the foreign aid budget and money that is directly from the home office.

No reason to make up something like that. I would never have disclosed that info while working there but I left a few years back, so don't care now.

I guess making the immediate jump to I've made that up with no knowledge of how the system works for UASC is easier than believing it if it doesn't align with what you want the narrative to be.

The police wouldn’t have to turn out in such numbers if it wasn’t for the thugs in black out for a fight. Primarily British men who want to blame their own failings on others and are given the scapegoat of asylum seekers to blame.
Nobody gets on those boats who isn’t desperate. You want to stop the boats. Open an asylum reception in Calais so those who are genuine can legitimately claim asylum and be brought here safely. Speed up asylum cases so that they take weeks instead of years. Apprehend incoming boats and bring them safely to the nearest shore line to be processed and deported back to where they came from. You cannot just turn the boats around and leave vulnerable people to the mercy of the sea. They need to be brought to shore safely and then sent safely back.

Oh and the majority of small boats are apprehended by the border force not the RNLI. Less than 2% of the RNLI’s call outs each year are to small boat crossings. So stop the hate of the RNLI - you don’t know when you might need them.

There’s more accusations against Care4Calais, I gathered the charity commission issued a statement to media but not to the public. They are saying that they are looking at it? I think so anyway. The accusations were that they have been coaching illegals to lie about their age.

Not the first time they’ve been embroiled in controversy, of course.

It was so obvious with the homophobia persecution - all the statements would be the same with similar family makeups - father and older brothers who all beat them and told them to kill themselves or they would.

apparently, local politicians in Calais have suggested this. I remember it being talked about very early on in the problems.

At the time both the French and UK government were against it because they thought setting up an official channel would attract even more people. I’m not sure it’s been revisited more recently though. I’m thinking about 10 years ago?

I think a lot of people would love that because in theory we should end up with fewer people here. But I think France won’t like it because anyone who gets rejected will disappear into France. Well, if they’re not properly deported. But it’s not just us that don’t do things properly. It’s Western Europe as a whole at the moment.

This wasn't Care4Calais. This was a massive UK company with a contract with the NHS.

No involvement at all with them arriving in the UK. They had to be processed as UASC once here though through Social Care with mandatory (if they turned up) medical assessments.

These men are in France. FRANCE. Paris, The Lourve. People pay a lot of money to visit France.

They are not in danger. They are not being persecuted. They are not at war. They are in France.

You said they have to be DESPERATE to get on those boats.

They are risking their lives...to flee France?!

What possible reason could it be worth making that journey if you are already safe?

And not just France. They don't just jump from Etreia, Somalia, Afghanistan to France.... they pass through many, many other politically SAFE countries to get to France.

And THEN they risk their lives in a boat.

WHY? If it is just about getting away from their own awful country and being safe?

And if they don’t have legitimate reason for coming to the UK over staying in France their asylum case would be rejected and they would either be denied entry or deported!
Nowhere in what I have put says we should just open the borders to them. But we do have a duty under international law to not leave them to drown in the channel. Bring them to shore safely, process them and send them back. Don’t leave them to drown in UK waters

I'm guessing you are probably not thinking of the Vietnamese migrants who died trapped in a lorry?

I’m not labelling the men in boats as anything. They will have their reasons for attempting to come here. Everyone of them likely has a differing reason. I cannot pretend to know all of their reasonings. A minority of them may well be coming here with ill intent. But the majority will likely be looking at the Uk as the place most desirable for them to relocate to, either due to personal connections or because they are English speaking. Those may well not be good enough reasons for coming here but unless we give them a viable alternative route to come here legitimately then they will continue to come by boat.

The men from the UK however I am more than happy to describe as thugs out for a fight because that is how they are acting.

Right, so some of the men at those protests (who are concerned about the safety of the people they love and their countries safety) act out violently and you're happy to label them ALL thugs.

Verses a tiny proportion of immigrants who go on to commit crimes.
Most women who are raped, abused or killed are done so by men they know. It is men already here - including British men - who remain the largest threat to women and girls in this country.
