Small boat arrivals at Gosport tonight - huge police motorcade

PassMeTheInternet · Yesterday 22:49

This is the police escort for the latest small boat arrivals at Gosport tonight.

What on earth is going on with this country?

I don’t know how to link a video from Twitter. The videos show the full extent of the operation.

Another one struggling with the concepts ‘vast majority’ and ‘every single one’. Honestly, this is not tricky maths.

I feel like Blackadder with Baldrick and the beans

The left do this all the time. They deliberately mishear what you've said, then use fake outrage to shut you down.

I dont think anyone particularly wants asylum seekers crossing the channel in small boats. Its not a positive thing for anyone unless you are a people trafficker

The disagreement comes as to what you do about it once they are in the sea, and whether you let them drown.

I find this idea that it’s either acceptable to allow and encourage thousands of illegal migrants or the alternative is to let them drown a bit ridiculous to be honest, and I’m not sure it’s being said in good faith.

We have a well equipped army and navy and border forcer and police. The government has resources and knowledge and manpower. They can come up with a humane solution which doesn’t involve letting people drown.

Btw people do drown already, but that gets conveniently ignored.

Any ideas?

Are all the people of Piddington violent wife-beating fascists?

Should “correct-thinking” people say nothing or even think nothing about undocumented men arriving?

I honestly think those in favour have zero experience of immigration save for maybe the health service. And spouting that the boat-arriving men are going to work in the NHS. Really? Really? Fgs.

I see sub-Saharan men working in the local secure mental health home. But Muslim men in care roles? Strewth.

LBFseBrom · Today 14:39

Since I posted earlier, when I thought the protest had been almost trouble-free, I have read that someone tried to pierce one of the boats with a rescuer on it. I think he was called Danny Tommo.

PassMeTheInternet · Today 14:41

smooththecat · Today 11:32

Oh come on, seriously? You’re doing some mental gymnastics there. The police are there because masked vigilantes in black are causing social unrest. Get yourself some education, the problems in our country are not caused by migration. What we are seeing is the result of instability in the global economy, war, climate change, Brexit, amongst other factors. It’s just too easy to blame the outsider, you need to allow some complexity.

You don’t think the men arriving on boats are causing any problems in this country? I suggest you “get yourself an education”.

You’re deluded. Your children and grandchildren are going to be the minority in their own country, their own schools.
This country is currently a diabolical mess. Soon we’ll all be entitled to claim asylum in other countries. I just hope the right can unite and we get a reform or restore govt soon who will try their best to undo the mess and send the third world back.
hope we can get our billions back from the useless frogs too.

Ah, the great replacement conspiracy nonsense.

Ffs, this has been debunked so many times.

God, this thread is depressing. I used to wonder how on earth the German people could be persuaded to put people into ovens. Now I'm not so sure that some people in this country wouldn't cheer it. 'Let them drown' indeed.

Edited

You see, the only people I’ve seem talking about letting people drown on this thread are those attacking people concerned about and wanting to stop the boats.

You can put words into people’s mouths and then demonise them for things they haven’t said, but it’s not honest or a moral way to act.

FFS. They don't have voting rights. Your paranoia is way out of control.

It's not paranoia at all. The left know that immigrants and asylum seekers are more likely to vote for left-wing parties. The left aren't motivated by 'humanity' or the 'common good'. What really motivates them is hatred. They hate, and I mean HATE, middle-class English NIMBYs who live in the countryside and read the Daily Mail. If they could use mass immigration to permanently dis-enfranchise them, they would do so (and they'd STILL think they were the goodies).

It delights the left to imagine those people in Piddington having their lives ruined, just as it delights them to see the countryside destroyed by endless house building. As a stupid, naive teen, I used to belong to left-wing groups. I know how they think.

MaturingCheeseball · Today 14:51

Ok, so what do people think about the dinghy that landed at Dover today (not the Gosport incident) where at least ten men ran off; the rest have been apprehended.

These men are not claiming asylum. Should we also ignore their entry?

PassMeTheInternet · Today 14:53

Yeah you don't live in the north East. No push-overs here. Or not many Ive noticed. Your pipes would stay well blocked

🤣 at that post. Can anyone recommended me a left wing cleaner?

For the avoidance of doubt, I am specifically criticising

1). Daniel Thomas and his supporters
2). People who attack the RNLI for saving people from drowning, or who suggest that they are somehow involved in a government conspiracy to help migrants cross the channel. (Again, why not just put them on a ferry?)

I don't think any sane person actually wants migrants to cross the channel in unseaworthy dinghies.

Our children agree intrinsically worth any more than anyone else's children. Would I prefer my children to live in a slightly overpopulated country (there are many places that are more densely populated than we are), so that someone else's children is less likely to die from poverty related illness, or has a chance for an education that they couldn't get in their home country, absolutely. Because I'm a decent person.

The thing is that the UK is not the answer to the world's problems. In an ideal world there would be no suffering but it has never and will never be like that.

I'm sure you are a nice person, I'm a nice person but I'm not naive enough to think that letting in thousands of undocumented men into the UK (and they are mainly men) is going to solve the problems this country is currently facing. It will just add to them. I think immigration is good for the UK but this country is in such a mess at the moment that importing low skilled labour is the last thing we need right now.

Christ this thread is depressing, lots of comments are racist, poorly informed, and lacking human compassion. Thank you to all the posters trying.

Small boats are at the lowest level
they have been for years. The 60 people on the boat stalked across the Channel included women and children. Sabotaging a boat while a volunteer rescuer was aboard is at best criminal damage and at worst attempted murder. The UK takes fewer migrants per capita than other EU states. Most migrants enter the UK lawfully because we need their labour.

We don't need their labour. We have a million NEETS and thousands of over 50s struggling to find work. We don't have enough housing and the influx of people into our country puts a strain on all our services and resources. We are also one of the most nature depleted countries in the world.

3 or 4 bullshit bingos in one post!

Not long till I can call house.

I mean you can call whatever points you like bullshit bingo and play your little game.

It doesn’t stop the points being true. Or put a credible counter argument. But I’m sure you’re having fun.

I think they were quite clear what they wanted to see happen - 'Let them drown'. People see that human lives are at stake, they just don't care because they see those particular human human lives as unimportant.

It’s that simple to you, isn’t it. If I don’t go along with this, I must want people to die.

Luckily many people can see beyond this sort of emotional manipulation.

The majority of the population understand that refugees are not illegals immigrants. Those coming on boats are not illegals until their asylum claims are rejected and they fail to leave.

The majority of the population are not out on the streets causing criminal damage in balaclavas
The majority of the population are not cheering on these drug dealers, wife beaters and kidnappers while they are threatening to kill innocent human beings in the channel.

The majority of the population read and understood history and the lessons from the early days of Hitlers rise to power.

The majority of the population are not fascists or fascists.

Are the women who are demonstrating drug dealers, wife beaters and kidnappers?

It is completely normal for boat loads of unvetted men from sub-Saharan Africa, the Middle East and the Indian Subcontinent to rock up on your shores and then stay in your country forever at your expense. I don't know what all the fuss is about. We'll need to raise your taxes next month by the way.

So you’re saying migration stops and everything is suddenly great? I hate to burst your bubble but we’re in a global crisis and that is not going to work. That’s what I’m suggesting you think about. I don’t need you to send me news articles, thanks. Immigrant commits crime ≠ all crime is caused by immigrants.

Now post pictures of home grown thugs and murderers.

Perhaps you think all British men should be put in prison because of the actions of a few.

Accusing an entire demographic because of the actions of a few is intrinsically wrong, dangerous and harmful.

One day it could be your child lumped into a group and accused for no reason.

The bit about the French bringing them and the RNLI picking them up for a start 😂😂😂.
If this wasn’t such an important topic, it would be beyond laughable that there are people out there who believe this sort of thing.

And OP, never mind your non existent links to back up your nonsense, I don’t believe you’ve answered the oft repeated question about how you’d stop the boats.

You need to look in a bit more detail into the actions of the RNLI and where they are meeting the boats. You are poorly informed.

What links do you want? I have pointed anyone who has asked to where information is available. I’m not going to bother doing the searching for you, if that’s what you mean, but if there’s anything particular you think I haven’t covered, let me know.

I have addressed your last point many times. What’s missing is the political will to stop the boats, not a lack of practical know how or resources.

”We need their labour” yet more than half aren’t employed (when allowed to work) and most receive benefits.

I’m an immigrant who entered legally and has been paying tax in a higher bracket for a couple of decades - that’s the sort of labour most countries want and welcome through legal immigration routes.

So sick of people being demonised for wanting their borders and immigration controlled rather being bullied into leaving the front door wide open.

If the goal is to help immigrants reach the UK and the RNLI are helping the government, do you not think there are easier ways?
