This is the police escort for the latest small boat arrivals at Gosport tonight.

What on earth is going on with this country?

I don’t know how to link a video from Twitter. The videos show the full extent of the operation.

No and that’s why I’m very lucky to be born this country like a lottery. That’s why i can understand and empathise why you want to make the horrific trip for a better life and better treatment for your sisters and daughters. I think the minority would make that trip purely to carry on as they were, why bother?

Perhaps they should look at improving their countries themselves. Look what happened when the Forces withdrew from Afghanistan
All those young servicemen/women died for absolutely nothing.
Straight back to taliban control 😭

Maybe if our upstanding citizens could behave like humans rather than animals the police wouldn’t need to be there. But when we are required to close lifeboat stations because of horrendous thugs the police are going to need to do all sorts of protection work that should be completely unnecessary.

People who have crossed in small boats should be detained and processed properly. Such a shame that police protection is required in order for immigration officials to carry out their duties.

I would laugh if we had the right emoji

Successive governments ignoring the wishes of its people and putting them under immense strain will tend to do that.

And Tommy Robinson is good at scamming people. You have to give him that.

I don't know what you expect to happen to these people who were reportedly at sea for around 30 hours, on an inflatable not deemed safe to withstand much more? Turn them around and leave them to their fate...i.e, let them capsize and drown? Stopping boats from leaving is not the same as preventing a boat from landing. Recent protests have made this level of police action necessary. It's not difficult to understand. Human lives are at stake, sorry if some people can't see this.

Edited

I think they were quite clear what they wanted to see happen - 'Let them drown'. People see that human lives are at stake, they just don't care because they see those particular human human lives as unimportant.

There is such a thing as taking personal responsibility. Just don't do such a dangerous thing in the first place would be a suggestion. Most people seem to know this.

Omg are you actually trying to teach someone on MN about how the Holocaust happened. Classic.

You've missed my point. Due to your obsession with drawing parallels with the Nazis. It happens. There's a name.for it.

My obsession with the Nazis? Where do you get that from? I'm just challenging the misinformation you're posting about Hilter.

According to the Oxford Migration Observatory,. 72% of people hold a negative view of asylum seekers crossing the channel. Little subculture indeed.

Having a negative view and calling all asylum seekers invaders are not the same thing.

I have a negative view of small boat crossings but I abhor the balaclaved thugs.

Gtfto2024 · Today 11:42

Pineneedlesincarpet · Today 11:09

We're all nazis now, remember. Apparently. Because the majority of the population don't want illegal immigrants.

The majority of the population understand that refugees are not illegals immigrants. Those coming on boats are not illegals until their asylum claims are rejected and they fail to leave.

The majority of the population are not out on the streets causing criminal damage in balaclavas
The majority of the population are not cheering on these drug dealers, wife beaters and kidnappers while they are threatening to kill innocent human beings in the channel.

The majority of the population read and understood history and the lessons from the early days of Hitlers rise to power.

The majority of the population are not fascists or fascists.

So what about people that are on the boats and here? It's all very well saying "personal responsibility" - should they just be left to drown?

This. But it’s probably too rational and logical for the mouth frothers to understand.

Most people know many things. Doesn't stop our prisons being full. Oversimplification of complex issues does not help solve the problem.

  • Africa: ~1.59 billion (1,591,620,000). It is the second-most populous continent, accounting for roughly 19.1% of the global population.

Pakistan

Afghanistan

Syria

can you understand that we CANNOT take everyone who DESERVES ASYLUM? Let alone those creeps who do not???

We cannot support this.
We have no money.
We were not asked.

The answer from me, is n.o.

And I do not care if they are all Saints.

Exactly. Even if these people really were highly educated, with clean criminal records and deep love for British culture, it would still be unmanageable. But they're not. The vast majority are arrogant, unskilled young men, who either know nothing about this country or, frankly, hate it. Many are rootless drifters, others are criminals. In fact, rather than "fleeing war and persecution," many are actually fleeing the police.

The impact of this migration crisis has been awful. My local woods were torn down and replaced by two giant new estates, then a second massive estate was built at the other end of the village. Now we've been told an extra 400 houses are going to be built in the centre of the village!! Judging by the languages spoken, I'd say the majority of people who've moved onto those new estates were born in Africa or the Middle East.

Which parts of that post do you think are false?

The bit about the French bringing them and the RNLI picking them up for a start 😂😂😂.
If this wasn’t such an important topic, it would be beyond laughable that there are people out there who believe this sort of thing.

And OP, never mind your non existent links to back up your nonsense, I don’t believe you’ve answered the oft repeated question about how you’d stop the boats.

But it's too late ...that's the point. The situation exists so has to be appropriately responded to. Just as an ambulance would be dispatched to an accident caused by a speeding driver or by someone taking an overdose. That's all that is in play once people's lives are in danger.

Where are you getting these figures from? What a load of salacious nonsense. Back up your claims.

Poland seem to manage very well in keeping illegals out.
Does that mean the Poles are also far right thugs?

Its not disinformation. What Polish Jews tried to invade German illegally?

Youre trying to liken the British fear of illegal foreign men invading the country to the Holocaust and Hitler whipping up feat against Jews. Its a bit of a stretch. Sorry. We all did GCSE history though. So can judge ourselves if we agree with yout point. Which I personally dont.

Exactly.

If the emergency services are going to start judging whether people deserve help, they might as well shut up shop.

I really don’t understand what a lot of you want? We are an island nation, people are always going to attempt to get to us by sea. Indeed many of us will have ancestors who made that exact journey if you go back far enough.

You can’t turn the boats around in the sea. That breaks international law. It also puts lives at risk.

So you basically have 2 options.

  1. ignore them and they either drown at sea or arrive here and disappear into the country. or
  2. they are apprehended by the border force (with occasional assistance from the RNKI if necessary) and they are processed. Those that have a case and a right to stay can do so. Those that don’t are deported.

What other options do you want? Leaving people to die out in the channel isn’t humane and isn’t what this country is about.

The bigger issue is what happens to them whilst they are here before their cases are heard. That is what needs resolving.
People pratting about in balaclavas and making a nuisance of themselves does absolutely fuck all but make the situation dangerous. You cannot have Uk citizens turning up and acting in a violent and threatening manner to the police, border staff, RNLI members and those who have come here.

Clavinova · Today 11:50

bozzabollix · Today 10:09

Labour have brought the numbers of people coming in by boat down by 40%. How are they not listening to your concerns?

Are you inland? Because that’d explain why you think it’s so easy to police small boats coming to a vast coastline. They’ve succeeded largely in the Dover-Calais channel hence boats are going further along the coast and enduring thirty hours at sea, it’s not an easy task but they are doing it.

Personally I think rejoining the EU means we’d have more cooperation with France and we could set up more legal pathways to apply for asylum without the boats, but you types wouldn’t have that.

Personally I think rejoining the EU means we’d have more cooperation with France and we could set up more legal pathways to apply for asylum without the boats

The EU have had over 4 million asylum seekers in the last 5 years - how many should we agree to take off their hands?

Slightyamusedandsilly · Today 11:52

PassMeTheInternet · Today 11:18

It not that complicated. The vast majority are young men. A very few are women and children. Have you got that now?

Are you an RNLI lifeboat man? Or a law enforcement official on the docks?

Or an opinionated 'Patriot'?

Pineneedlesincarpet · Today 11:52

Well you can turn the boats around. Or you can steer them to off shore processing, like a big boat. No need for them to set foot here.

Parliament is sovereign remember. We can do what we want if we have the will and are prepared to face the consequences. Rather than giving up.
