He doesn’t want to be neutral at all, he just doesn’t want to stick his head above the parapet to condemn what warrants condemnation.

That's because Macklemore apologised for this back in 2014. He grabbed some items from a costume store to do a surprise performance. Some people complained that it was antisemitic.

Funnily enough hasn't been mentioned much until Pinks attempted cancellation failed. The salute image was popularised by the StopAntisemitism social media account and is a still of the live performance which can be seen by the distorted hands.

Using a 12 year old picture to try and tear down someone who is trying to raise awareness of the children being murdered on a daily basis is a pretty big stretch.

The studium in Tampa Florida that said Macklemore wasn't allowed to perform has hosted Kanye West a Holocaust denier who has praised Hitler and made numerous antisemitic statements. However the stadium said Free Speech Protections applied here so his concert would not be cancelled.

Only a week or two ago, everyone was praising Dolly Parton for realising that she was simply an entertainer and stayed out of politics. Now Ed Sheeran is being ripped apart by some people for doing the same thing. Hmm.

Intresting how supporters of Palestine condemn Hamas but still get accused of being anti-semetic but supporters of Isreal are unashamed of admitting they're monsters.

I saw Eminem at Leeds fest in 2017 and he had 90,000 people chanting “fuck trump”. It happens. Famous people use their platforms to bring light to causes that matter to them.

Macklemore is no stranger to politicising his music. I have no issue whatsoever with what Macklemore said at that concert, especially as it led on to a song inspired by Columbia students (related to the conflict).

I’m glad the other support acts and Ed’s band have dropped out. I hope Ed cancels the rest of the tour. The publicity only brings more attention to what is happening in Gaza and the West Bank.
