Mine is that I ADORE white pepper, while everyone else seems to think it tastes like the 70s and hospital dinners.

I also prefer some things over cooked, mainly broccoli and pasta.

What's yours?

Another one for pineapple on pizza, and I like avocado.

Onions and garlic can get in the bin as can hot honey, gochujang sauce and salted caramel.
Hate lamb too it makes me ill, just the smell nowadays 🤢

RudePhthaloDalmadoodle · 11/09/2026 14:05

Good: white chocolate, okra, savoury porridge (can't beat a Taiwanese breakfast buffet with loads of preserved eggs and fish bits to add in!), grits, fruit in cheese, and fruit in green salads.

Bad: donuts, cheesecake, chicken, tapioca, custard, and anything with "wafer" inside of it.

Conditional: I like hot honey but, like Ranch dressing, many people seem to want to pour it everywhere instead of saving it for things it actually complements. Gravy belongs in poutine and nowhere else. Most UK supermarket vegetables (and many fruits) have nothing in common with the actual items they are alleged to represent. Tomatoes in particular are long overdue for a defamation suit.

I have never been impressed by anything that comes out of a slow cooker. Put the same ingredients in a casssrole and then the oven and something richer and with more texture comes out.

Game - with shot; love game without shot.

Ox cheek - I don't care how trendy they are, my gran used to simmer them and feed them to the farm dogs. She did rhe same with lambs tongues but they arwn't trendy yet.

Pressed tongue, brawn, corned horse beef.

MotherOfLittleCrocodiles · 11/09/2026 14:11

Brioche buns should not be allowed anywhere near a burger. Truffles are awful. Coffee and brandy cake is disgusting gloop. And I can’t stand trifle.

Fuckmyliferightnow · 11/09/2026 14:12

I love tinned peaches in juice, with evaporated milk.
I love burned toast with extra salty butter, I also put extra sea salt on.
I prefer soft brown sugar in tea.

I hate granulated coffee, it’s gross.
Avocados are vile.
Green tea and matcha are nasty. People go mad for it but it tastes horrible.

Fuckmyliferightnow · 11/09/2026 14:14

Also I sometimes eat just steamed vegetables for dinner.

NetballHoop · 11/09/2026 14:17

I only do this when I eat alone as my family think it's gross but I like a raw egg yolk on top of my rice. It's delicious.

SmallWhiteFluffyClouds · 11/09/2026 14:17

I love stodgy foods, the stodgier the better. This means I like hospital food and school dinners.

I would much prefer a sandwich with 1 ingredient than with complicated fillings.

There is no place for chutney, coleslaw or any kind of pickle on my plate.

I still like a sugar in my tea.

Financegoddess · 11/09/2026 14:21

Salted caramel can get in the bin along with:

Any type of fish or seafood
Sweetcorn
Any type of curry
Any type of chicken nugget/goujons
Marrow, Courgette or Gherkins (adore cucumber though!)
Tinned hotdogs
Blue cheese
Olives
Peppers
Kiwis
Egg fried rice with peas (should just be egg & rice)
Mushrooms in anything other than spag bol or a cheeky fry up.
Poached eggs
Any cereal that isn’t porridge or weetabix
Cold pasta
Cold pizza
Quiche
Egg Custard
Chilli

plus many more 🤢

watermybegonias · 11/09/2026 14:21

I don’t like oxtail. I married into a farming family and the first time I met his parents, oxtail was served. I simply couldn’t eat it. My then bf asked what was the matter, and I told him all I could think of was all the flies it had swished.

They never served it to me again!

watermybegonias · 11/09/2026 14:24

Hate orange marmalade, but love ginger, lime or lemon.
Not keen on pastry, can only manage a little bit on the bottom of a quiche. Any more is cut off.
Have never been in a McDonalds, even the thought of one makes me feel sick.

Imdunfer · 11/09/2026 14:28

I like my crisps, cottage pie and lasagne to be slightly burnt round the edges, it concentrates the flavour!

I can eat pickled beetroot straight from the jar.

I asked for vinegar for my cabbage at a restaurant on Sunday and heard it going all round the bar and kitchen "vinegar? For the cabbage?"

I eat Marmite off a spoon.

CoastalCalm · 11/09/2026 14:29

I’m not a fan of pizza If DH has one for his tea I’ll have like an eight as my share

OP hot bovril with loads of white pepper and a slug of cider vinegar is like a cheats hot and sour soup - absolutely delicious , I love white pepper

I love butter and sea salt on toast but honey and loads of salt is my ultimate

unsync · 11/09/2026 14:32

Custard is a perfectly valid meal choice.

TheTwerkingDuchessOfMonteshitshow · 11/09/2026 14:33

I also love pineapple on pizza. In fact I like fruit in lots of meals.

I love it on cabbage, especially the white cabbage boiled and then the drained boiling water poured into a mug with loads of white pepper!!

5682Jhd · 11/09/2026 14:35

Matcha tastes like mud.

Verv · 11/09/2026 14:35

Agree that brioche buns should never be near a burger - ruins it.

Controversially, i bloody love trifle.

Stews are vile.

OneSnugBear · 11/09/2026 14:36

The smell and taste of peppermint is nauseating....

Astra53 · 11/09/2026 14:39

Shocking confession. I don't like barbecues or the horrible smokey tasting food that gets served. Also all the salady bits sitting out in the open, warming nicely in a pool of watery mayo, being visited by the local fly population. Gross 🤮

sueelleker · 11/09/2026 14:42

Cotopaxi · 11/09/2026 12:25

I like my scrambled eggs to be bouncy, not that sloppy nonsense.

Likewise, omelettes should be cooked right through; not sloppy in the middle.

cafeconron · 11/09/2026 14:42

Another Brussels sprouts and pineapple-on-pizza lover here.

Sandwiches and cereal are boring - I can’t understand why they are so popular!

Kelticgold · 11/09/2026 14:44

I love pineapple on pizza too.
I love boiled food.
I quite like offal.
I hate oysters very much, disgusting matter.

ThatsRoughBuddy · 11/09/2026 14:45

Salted caramel tastes like a punishment 😕

Cotopaxi · 11/09/2026 14:47

Whoever invented the brioche bun did not do so with the intention of them being served with a burger inside. They are far better kept well apart. A brioche bun does not have the structural integrity to cope with the method by which one eats a burger.
