I've noticed that some boards are so much friendlier than others. What are the more hostile ones you've come across?

Im a Feminist and agree feminism is about women. The biggest threat to most women is the men in their lives, husbands, sons fathers, brothers.

If you want pure bile start a thread about social housing. Some seriously unhinged ideas.

I find people who use the word “hateful” really aggressive (also “vile”) so I stay away from boards where that word is used a lot. I think they tend to lack nuance and the conversation is a bit pointless. I like to have my view point challenged but I have other things I could do if I want to feel hopeless and drained.

I find the Royal Family and Middle East boards the most on topic aggressive.

AIBU has individual posters with unjustified aggression but overall I think it's a valuable and important board because of how often it helps women in bad situations realise it.

I didn't know about that. I think I posted once on the other board and was eviscerated.

It’s not just about threats though is it. It’s privacy and dignity too. The men in my life are lovely, don’t want to get changed in front of them though (other than my partner). I’m as sure as one can be they wouldn’t harm me, or anyone else. That wouldn’t change if they woke up tomorrow and declared themselves a woman.

Another vote for feminism board. I don't bother anymore. Apart from the rabid aggression, who wants to endlessly talk about public toilets?

No we just dont believe that anyone can change sex.
We also object to the removal of women's rights, language, sport and spaces for the delusions/ideological beliefs of men. We also object to the sterilisation of confused and vulnerable children in the name of an ideology and the removal of all safeguarding.
Thats not hate its putting women and children above the wants of men

TRA do - it's stops ppl remembering that TW ie men have also forced their way into support groups for rape survivors, miscarriage, Brest feeding, women's refuges, women's prisons, women's sports, programmes to increase women in STEM

we know very well why they want the conversation focused on "but I just want to peeee with women"

I’m heartened that those who want to do away with women’s rights to sex based spaces and sports - away from nice men, bad men, men who want to be women men - have decided to body swerve the FWR board.

Women fought hard for those rights, those who want to dismantle this, mangle language, prioritise men’s feelings and force us to reject material reality with our own eyes and have the gaul to insult US to boot can frankly get in the bin. Please do hide that board. (Sorry was that aggressive?).

If you think that the FWR is all about toilets maybe you should revisit and see the work that other women are doing for your rights.

It does seem that way. Such nasty, aggressive descriptions of women.

I once posted on a H&M thread, i said something mildly supportive of them, maybe 1 or 2 sentences long. Was quoted and received an angry multi paragraph response. Its quite bizarre how invested some MNers are.

Erm, trans activists? They’re making quite a fuss about public toilets.

Another weird one is AMA. OPs here set themselves up as experts and are closed minded to any insights that anyone else might have. They deliver scathing rebukes and then repeat that they're happy to answer any questions, as if they have specialist knowledge.

I know right? As if the only thing that matters about being a woman or a man is which bit of porcelain you get to piss on. But it's what trans activists always want to focus on because they think it's easy to make it seem petty, whereas rape support, prisons, sports and y'know, the reasonableness of having literally no language for the reality of sex is quite hard to justify. So we do get a lot of groundhog day conversations about toilets.

That said, I have learned a surprising amount about something most of us take for granted, so there is that.

Oh! That is a fascinating board. I find myself perversely intrigued by it. Some of the OPs are interesting, but mostly they seem like fantasy roleplays by bored people (still kind of fun to read, though).

I think some of them are done by the same kind of people who self publish books, ergo they assume (usually wrongly) that their words and thoughts are truly fascinating and captivating to others.

Pendantic type who love to laud over grammatical errors and get arsey about a persons 'lack' of education. 🙄As long as someone can make themselves understood why does anything else matter?

Oh yes, I am dog free but sometimes read a title that looks interesting - definitely some doggy topics to tread carefully on!

Feminism, and I say this as a life long feminist, they are chock full of hate.
