If you have a partner/DH, what’s the height difference?

I’m (cautiously) dipping my toe into OLD and as a bit of a titch (5:1), I am definitely attracted to ‘the taller the better’. I did once date someone who was 6:4 which presented a few logistical challenges but overall I loved it.

If you have a DP/DH, what’s your height difference? Does height matter to you?

Posywosey · 08/09/2026 21:47

I am 5'7". Dh is 5'11".

I once dated a guy who was 6'8"!

shoogal · 08/09/2026 21:47

11 inches
Im 5’1 he’s 6ft
I love it. I’ve always liked tall guys. Just don’t fancy short ones. I think it may have something to do with wanting my kids to be tall as I’m not. 2 sons. One already quite tall lol

Gertibear · 08/09/2026 21:48

5ft1 and he’s 6ft4 found it weird at first and I always wore heels to make me taller 😆 Hardly ever wear heels now and couldn’t care less it’s so normal to me, well 20+yrs later lol

I'm 5" 5, he's 5" 7 or 8. I'm not interested in tall men, I don't like being towered over. I dated a guy slightly shorter than me for a while and had no problem with it.

Twoshoesnewshoes · 08/09/2026 21:49

I’m 5’4, DP 6’2
i stand on the coffee table if we want a proper snog, other than that it’s great.
it’s definitely important to me, I would always look for a tall man.
though I have dated women too in my past and I don’t like a big height difference!

Largedogonmyknee · 08/09/2026 21:50

Me 5’, 10” smaller than DH and one DC, 14” smaller than t’other DC. DGC rapidly about to dwarf me too. Send help!

BakersKitchen · 08/09/2026 21:50

I’m about 5’4. DH is about 5’10. Neither of us particularly tall but he’s tall enough for me. And wide.

I wasn’t that bothered about height I just didn’t want to feel big around my partner. I prefer to feel small and feminine.

My cousin is 5’11 and wouldn’t date anyone under 6’2 for the same reasons!

LostWord · 08/09/2026 21:51

I’m 5’11 and DH is 6’1. He was the shortest guy I’d ever dated when we first started seeing each other 25 years ago. Previous serious boyfriends were 6’6 and 6’3.

PermanentTemporary · 08/09/2026 21:51

Sorry I havent read every post.

Dp is exactly my height and a few kilos lighter than me. I adore him. The number of women who limit themselves just not to feel bigger than their partner is a constant mystery to me. One of the loveliest guys I’ve ever known struggled for a partner because he was short. He had absolutely everything a woman could want except height it seemed. More fool the women around him.

SpottyAlpaca · 08/09/2026 21:51

I’m 5’11, DP is 6’2 so not much difference.

Height doesn’t matter to me at all, but it did matter very much to a guy I went out with who was shorter than me. The relationship didn’t last because he was an insecure sexist dickhead, not because of his height.

TheLightSideOfTheMoon · 08/09/2026 21:52

I’m 5’3”, they’re 5’4”.

Perfect height for kisses and cuddles. They’re the shortest person I’ve been with and I love it!

CoastalCalm · 08/09/2026 22:00

I’m 5’10 and husband is 6’3

Watchoutfortheslowaraf · 08/09/2026 22:01

A foot difference

PrettyLittleRose · 08/09/2026 22:03

That is a weird height disparity IMO, 15 inches!

You will of course get lots of posters saying (on here) that there's a foot and a half difference between them and their partner, and it's never been an issue and no-one has ever noticed or commented ... 🙄

DH and I have a 6 inch difference by the way. I'm 5 ft 4 and he's 5 ft 10.

I could never be with a man who is taller than 6 feet tall.

.

HumbleKatey · 08/09/2026 22:04

Height is totally irrelevant.

Height is totally irrelevant.

Not to everyone.

Fifthtimelucky · 08/09/2026 22:08

1 foot.
My husband used to be 6’3 and I used to be 5’3 but we’re probably both about half an inch shorter these days.

trixieinnewyork · 08/09/2026 22:11

I'm 5ft 7 and dh is 5ft 6. Doesn't bother me - and it meant I was 'allowed' to wear flats with my wedding dress which I was very happy about.

All my friends tell me I'm so lucky cos he's such a good guy and then in the same breath say they couldn't go out with anyone less than 5' 10. What's more important?

SusanSHelit · 08/09/2026 22:16

I'm also a real titch (4ft10) and ds's dad is the shortest person I've ever dated at 5ft6. Tallest was 6ft2 which was a bit awkward. Current bf is probably 5ft10 ish at a guess. My mum and dad are 5ft and 5ft10. I don't mind a short king but in my experience taller men have liked that I'm short. I have no idea why, it's not because I'm particularly child like because I most definitely look like a grown woman, I don't have a boyish frame by anyone's measure. I suppose they think it's cute?

RaraRachael · 08/09/2026 22:27

I'm 5.5, OH is 6.4.
I've always preferred considerably taller men.

Discodance1988 · 08/09/2026 22:28

I'm 5 ft 4, my partner is 6 ft 1.

TheFallenMadonna · 08/09/2026 22:34

An inch and bit. I am just under 5 11 and he is 6ft.

Namechange6578 · 08/09/2026 22:37

My husband is a foot taller than me! I'm 5ft2 he is 6ft2. I like it 😊

Mumoftwoteenagers · 08/09/2026 22:40

4 inches. It is a nice gap. Biggest gap I have had was 10 inches. We were together a year and I can’t remember his eye colour. (Which might be because it was 30 years ago or might be because I never got to see his eyes!)

NoWordForFluffy · 08/09/2026 22:45

Wolfpa · 08/09/2026 20:11

We are both 6 ft, it works out really well being the same height as we never have to adjust the car seat for driving

That depends on your proportions. I'm 2 inches shorter but with much longer legs, so I have to move the seat back when I get in!
