If you have a partner/DH, what’s the height difference?

I’m (cautiously) dipping my toe into OLD and as a bit of a titch (5:1), I am definitely attracted to ‘the taller the better’. I did once date someone who was 6:4 which presented a few logistical challenges but overall I loved it.

If you have a DP/DH, what’s your height difference? Does height matter to you?

husband is 6ft 1 and I’m 5ft 1. I love being smaller than him. It’s quite sexy tbh. To me, obvs 🙄

Love this thread, where all the men are over 6ft. When in reality only 3 percent of men are, 😂

Google tells me 15-20% of men in the uk are 6ft or taller. Where are you getting 3% from?

AgnesMcDoo · 08/09/2026 20:25

My DH is 3 inches taller. Happy with that

We’re the same height pretty much (both short)

I went through a brief phase of caring about height but then I realised it was kind of peer pressure, like I wasn’t bothered myself and found plenty of men attractive at all heights. But I cared that other people valued shorter men less. When I realised that was the only reason, I just decided not to care as there are much more important things to look for in a partner.

FeralFucker · 08/09/2026 20:37

He is 10 inches taller, not a problem for either of us.

ShiftySquirrel · 08/09/2026 20:46

I'm 5ft 5 and a half and DH is 5ft 11.
I quite like being the shortest in the house now both DDs have overtaken me.

I think you meant 13% that's the over30 something group.
Well it's also website where all the 1% earners are so why not all the tall men too😁

Favouritefruits · 08/09/2026 20:58

1inch! My husband is 5”8 I’m 5”7

1clavdivs · 08/09/2026 21:00

I’m 5’4” and he’s 6’6”. We look a bit silly and if we ever have professional photos taken someone always wants to put me on a box.

bababamama · 08/09/2026 21:02

7 inches, he’s 6’1

moppety · 08/09/2026 21:03

I’m 5ft 4 and DH is 6ft 4. I do love a tall man!

BestIsWest · 08/09/2026 21:07

An inch.
I’m the taller at 5’10. His shoulders are about a foot wider than mine though!

DinnerinfrontoftheTV · 08/09/2026 21:10

DH is 6.2 and I am 5.6. Our adult DD’s are both 5.4. 🤷🏻‍♀️

MIWillNeverLetYouDown · 08/09/2026 21:19

I’m 5”5 and DH is 5”7

user293948849167 · 08/09/2026 21:20

I’m 5’4” DH is 6’0”, it’s nice for me because I like a tall man and he’s still easily taller than me even when I wear heels. Also handy to have a tall person around to get things off shelves and change the lightbulbs.
The shortest person I’ve dated was probably 5’10 which still felt tall enough.
I have a friend who is 6’6” we never dated but that would actually have been too tall

FavouritePJs · 08/09/2026 21:21

Im 5 feet tall and my husband is 6’2. The height difference has never bothered me and I love having a tall husband.

Flannelfeet · 08/09/2026 21:27

Him 5"8
Me 5"9
Me 6" in heels and he loves it 🫣🤫

We grew up together, he was a "mosher" back then and my dad would of murdered me if he "chapped" the door to see if I was coming out when I was 15 🤭. Few other cheeky things from him in the passing over the years. Then I married him 🥰 hes still a mosher and if i HAVE to see iron maiden again im going to fall out with him...🤣.

TheBayHorse · 08/09/2026 21:35

Never given height any consideration. DH is only an inch taller than me (5'6" and 5'7") we're both quite a slim build which is handy as I can borrow clothes from him.

Blarn · 08/09/2026 21:42

I'm 5'6 and my dh is 6'4. I think if I was shorter we'd look a bit odd standing next to each other!

DollopOfFun · 08/09/2026 21:43

I'm 5'1" and DH is 6'2".

His height didn't really come into it, I've been out with lots of men of all different heights.

It's great for sending him to the bar or getting him to take a photo for me, it's crap for using an umbrella. But we 'line up' pretty nicely lying down 😂

WellaWellaWellaOooh · 08/09/2026 21:43

I always liked the idea of a man taller than me, but fell in love with someone the same height. What can you do?! How ridiculous would it be to ditch a man for being shorter than your ideal.

And as a PP said, there's benefits! The car seat never has to be adjusted, and the same for the shower head.

As a bonus, I feel Amazonian when I wear heels.

Ratherhaveacupofteaandabiscuit · 08/09/2026 21:44

Does it matter at all?
I appreciate there is an element of physical attraction or otherwise before you speak to someone but would height actually put anyone off a nice man?
Especially considering nice men seem rare as hen's teeth.

Toober · 08/09/2026 21:45

I was just talking to mine about this the other day! I see so much about women wanting tall men but it's not a preference I've ever had, and I feel like I'm 'hogging' him 😂 He's 5ft11 though so not exactly a giant. I'm 5ft2.

I did date a man who must've been about 5ft4 and it was fine, but I do admit I wouldn't want a man shorter than me.

flipflopfan · 08/09/2026 21:46

I’m 5ft2, husband 6ft2. When my DC graduated from uni, the photographer got me to stand on a box for the family photo (DC also fairly tall) The reason was to “balance out” the photo apparently!

allthingsprettyinpink · 08/09/2026 21:47

I’m 5’5 and my husband is 6’2, height doesn’t make a difference to me though, my first husband was only 5’6!
