If you have a partner/DH, what’s the height difference?

I’m (cautiously) dipping my toe into OLD and as a bit of a titch (5:1), I am definitely attracted to ‘the taller the better’. I did once date someone who was 6:4 which presented a few logistical challenges but overall I loved it.

If you have a DP/DH, what’s your height difference? Does height matter to you?

I'm 6 feet. Dh is 5 feet 8

5’6 and 5,11

Foundress · 08/09/2026 19:40

My DH is 5ft 9” and I am 5ft 7” I have never fancied very tall men. It seems to be somewhat of a modern obsession. I can’t remember it being a thing when I was young. It might rule out a lot of perfectly nice shorter men? My late DM when she saw a really tall man would say ‘I wouldn’t give him house room’😂 I find couples with huge height differences faintly ridiculous looking but if they are happy with it that’s all that matters.

stichguru · 08/09/2026 19:41

and no it doesn't really matter provided I behave myself...if not they can simply move me somewhere more convenient... (joking!)

savemysleep · 08/09/2026 19:41

5 ish inches, he’s nearly 6ft 2

Ive always loved a tall man but think it’s because i’m tall.

Ponderingwindow · 08/09/2026 19:41

DH is an inch taller.

height has never been something I think about. I was legit surprised when I read people on the internet discussing it as a criteria.

Coffeeandallthebooks · 08/09/2026 19:42

I'm 5ft4 and DH is 6ft1.

Has come back to bite me as the kids are all tall, dd 5ft8, ds1 6ft2, and ds2 5ft12 still growing.

When we are out I feel like a Shetland pony on an outing with racehorses!

Notellinganyone · 08/09/2026 19:43

I’m 5 ft 2, partner is 5ft 7. Really not fussed about height.

Catsandcwtches · 08/09/2026 19:44

He’s about a foot taller, must be one of the biggest height differences on here? We do look ridiculous in photos 🙈

ThisSillyPoet · 08/09/2026 19:44

It used to bother me when I was younger but not anymore.
DH is 5’4” and I’m 2 inches taller, I don’t wear heels anymore because they hurt my feet so the difference is negligible.

VFM57 · 08/09/2026 19:44

I'm 5'5 he is 6'7

AllJoyAndNoFun · 08/09/2026 19:46

I’m 5’7” and he’s 6ft. I have generally dated shorter though- generally around 5’8”:5’9”.

Summer26woohoo · 08/09/2026 19:47

5ft 5 vs 6ft 2.

It's not a huge difference but leaves enough room for me to wear heels and still be shorter.

He's produced some giants though, teenagers at 6ft 4 and 6ft and still growing and a 9 year old that would easily blend into a year 8 class.

It has it's benefits. I haven't had to change ds3's cabin bed for years now because it's so much easier for the taller among us. It's now officially ds1's job as tallest - he barely has to lean over as opposed to my huffing and puffing and climbing to reach the damn mattress 😂

Same. Exactly a foot. 5'2 and 6'2.

opalfruits76 · 08/09/2026 19:57

I'm 5ft 5 he's 5ft 8 shortest man I have been with the rest been over 6ft 1. But it makes no difference to me

CatrinVennastin · 08/09/2026 20:03

I’m 5 ft 6 and he is 6ft 2. Both out DD’s are tall, 5 ft 8 and 5ft 9 so I am now known as “the wee mammy”

Mathsbabe · 08/09/2026 20:06

I'm 5ft 1. DH is 6ft 2.

DramaAlpaca · 08/09/2026 20:07

I'm 5'10 and he's taller by only about a centimetre. Our three sons tower over both of us.

Newsenmum · 08/09/2026 20:07

5ft6 and he’s 5ft10. Never likes super tall men as made me feel like I was with my dad!

Springbuck · 08/09/2026 20:08

Yes I’ve always preferred tall men.
im 5.6 and Dh is 6.5.
Our ds is 6.6 and has had two long term ish girl friends, one was 4.10, the current one is not much over 5ft.

bruffin · 08/09/2026 20:08

5'2 and 6ft 2

BunkBedsArePeopleShelves · 08/09/2026 20:10

I'm 172cm he's about 167cm. So I'm taller, and I'm pretty sure he's shrinking.
