A chat thread for those who don't like this Labour government. 🥀

The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's money.

Thank you all 💓

I'm back at work today wearing copious amounts of concealer. Have also reacquainted myself with my old mates gin and shiraz in the evenings. 😬 Been tee total for ages now. Oh well.
It seems I have something in common with Andy Burnham for once.

I'm so sorry. My mum passed suddenly in June. So many decisions to be made, in such a short space of time. You just crack on, we'll babysit your threads for you.

Good morning. Thanks again for all your kind messages and PMs. You're a lovely bunch. 💐
Got my best Pollyanna face on today.

The residents of Piddington have voted to leave the UK over plans to house over 1200 male asylum seekers there.

Inflation up again to 3.1%. I'm getting very concerned about the coming winter. I've been doing some prep. Have about a weeks worth of food, about 2 days of water, and a good store of gas for the bbq, candles and power banks. I'm not letting my car get less than half full. Need to buy new hot water bottles for everyone and more toiletries and cleaning stuff.
Worrying times.

Yes. Our canister is almost empty, so I've told DH we just need to lose whatever is left in it and get a new one now. We always BBQ at Christmas anyway, so it's sensible to sort now, for all reasons.

We've both been out and bought water and we tend to keep good food stocks. We also have camping stoves with gas and torches / candles, as they're staple kit here.

Lovely to see you, I’ve been thinking about your mum and family, it’s so hard.

I see Burnham and Healey are facing a £10bn hole. So more tax hikes probably, it was meant to be the first budget only.

Yes our camping gear is very handy to have in for power cuts. Gas is expensive atm, but worth having just in case. We'll use it anyway so its not wasted. I have an old portable gas fire in the loft so I'm getting a bottle for that at the weekend too. There's a brilliant local company who deliver it so very handy.

Glad it's not just me thinking ahead like this. My colleagues think I'm crazy.

Great- not. That £10bn figure is likely to grow too if you look at some of the news on the ME.

I have very little faith in this government to deal with what's ahead.
