Has anyone else seen the news about what’s happening in Portsmouth this evening
A boat has arrived in Hampshire and the protesters from Dover are currently in the sea blocking passage with hundreds more on the quay blocking coaches waiting.

Using the perfectly good word "fucking" does not make a post abusive. It's been used on mumsnet for many many years.

Christianity is many things, but peaceful, democratic and benevolent aint it.

So surely stopping the migrant boats is akin to counter terrorism at this point?

It would be a very long journey wouldn't it, across land. Belarus is land-locked so they'd have to come via many EU countries to get to France and then across the channel. Exhausting!

If you had taken the time to read the thread, you would have seen my post regarding the Roman Catholic church not being representative of Christianity and that they are responsible for giving the faith a bad name.

The RC church has used and abused its position countless times throughout its history.

Christianity was established by the Orthodox Church, which the RC was part of before it went its own way. If you read The New Testament and the writings of The Church Fathers you will find out what Christianity teaches and expects from its followers.

Some people were demonstrating but Tommo’s thugs were obstructing, using violence on police and damaging police equipment and vehicles. The police chief on R4 this am said he was happy to police peaceful demonstration but was clear that the masked men were violent. If this is going to be a thing they should take RNLI and police off job and put army and navy on it.

People have been crying out for the army and navy to patrol the channel, so that’s a bloody good idea!

But assuming he’s right, what’s the problem? I’m of immigrant stock (in fact my nanna got here on a troop ship that left from a British territory adjacent to her home country, it was years before it became apparent that she had no papers) but I’m white. Does that mean I’m more British than a person of colour? Even though my heritage is British and two other countries. Actually, British, Irish and two other counties.

I just can’t see why anyone should worry if white people are in minority. Who is 100% British? What does bonkers vexed vicar think Jesus looked like?

Or is he trying to make a point about Islam? Because Muslims can be white. Does he think Britain has always been a Christian country. He’s never thought about what it was before the Middle Eastern religion got here?
