Has anyone else seen the news about what’s happening in Portsmouth this evening
A boat has arrived in Hampshire and the protesters from Dover are currently in the sea blocking passage with hundreds more on the quay blocking coaches waiting.

No, fewer people arriving.

But that's not something certain groups want you to hear.

Portsmouth is no where near Dover. How did they get so far?

The government can go on all they like about less people coming in on boats the fact is many people don’t believe this to be the case, we have no idea how many people are in the country illegally and the government (and other governments too) need to be more honest they are not in control of this now

Stop being so logical.

The authorities had plenty of warning that this boat was coming. And being an unusual place to land, the infrastructure isn't already in Portsmouth to to hold these people as they come off the boat, so coaches and border staff had to be sent there promptly.

It's quite ridiculous to be ascribing some dark plan to this. The government doesn't want them here. They're hardly going to plan to bring them here.

They're in Hampshire because they launched from Normandy, because the joint measures with the French have been making it harder to cross.

Additional police officers are now being surged to French beaches to tackle the larger dinghies.

The latest dinghy launched in Bay of the Seine and was shadowed for around 10 hours by French rescue boats in case it got into difficulty. The French coastguard said it was not safe to attempt to stop the dinghy on water.
It reached UK waters at lunchtime and the people on board were met by lifeboats from Bembridge and Yarmouth.
French authorities said it was unusual for the migrant boat to depart from the area - 170 miles away from the usual launches around Calais making the crossing to the UK significantly longer.
