Omg I shagged the vicar

BC for this one!!

last summer I moved to a new village with my 2 teen DC’s following my divorce. I’ve made a real effort to integrate into village life and joined a cycling group which I love.

a couple of new members joined a few months ago, one of whom is the vicar from a nearby parish. He’s 39 single. I’m 43.

on Friday we all met for drinks snd I ended Ho inviting a group back to my house. Kids are away with their dad. We all had a few more drinks at my house before people started heading home. There’s been a little bit of flirtation between me and the vicar and it ended up just me and him- we had some more wine and he was being very complimentary and was clearly trying it on. We ended up kissing and I’m afraid that I ended up shagging him on my kitchen sofa. Very out of character for me.

im now mortified that I have to see him at cycle meet this week. My friends think it’s hilarious but im worried he’ll think I’m loose and common. 😲

Did you yell “Oh my god!” as you reached your ‘pinnacle’?
I’m sure he’d have judged you for that.

🤣

GentleTealCat · 02/09/2026 00:53

Honey....mmmm... we are all human and if your "a loose woman " he's twice as bad being your vicar! Hope it was a good shag?.... get dressed up (all be it in cycle gear) n hold yr head high.... life too short girl xx😘

Well you've certainly integrated into the community 😂

I think you need to move 1000 miles away and all change your identities. Stay indoors until at least 2036 and you may stand a chance of going on to lead a full and purposeful life after that.

OR

You can just pretend everything is perfectly fine and all that's changed is you now know how big the vicars knob is 🤔

PMSL 🤣😂🤣

Have none of you ever watched Grantchester and that was set on the 1950s, they didn't seem to have a problem with sex outside marriage!

I haven't but I definitely will now! 😆

Hooray!

Your story reminds me of a woman I knew who liked to ham up to an eccentric image, drank far too much and frequently passed out during evening events, and would loudly annouce, in a cut-glass accent, the most shocking comments she could think to say in a polite gathering. A phrase of hers that comes to mind here (accompanied by much eye-rolling), is 'I'm so bored, I could fuck a priest!'

And you went one better and actually did it! I bloody love this story - life is for living and it really made me laugh.

Kudos OP, kudos.

Was the woman Miriam Margoyles?

I want a kitchen sofa 🤔

I wish I had a kitchen big enough for a sofa! 🤪

What’s a CDM?

A Cadbury's Dairy Milk 😋

Husband and I visited a beautiful city and decided to look around the cathedral. A man with a white collar walked towards us, they both looked at each other, stopped and exchanged pleasantries. When we moved on my husband said: he was our local vicar when dad was in the Airforce. He gave all the RAF wives moral support and more 🫣. When he was found out he swiftly disappeared and moved on.

Dorothyperky · 02/09/2026 07:22

@SerafinasGoose God I hope that wasn't me.

South, posh market town.
Fwiw I no longer drink!

Good use of AI @JohnofWessex (we know this is not Twitter as it's called X now!)

Chickadee001 · 02/09/2026 08:01

Oh my days sorry but this is straight out of a Joanna Trollope Aga Saga novel -love it!
Can't see it's any more tricky than any other one night stand - you were both consenting adults and it's not as if he was a monk!

Act like a mature adult and what will be will be!

newbeginnings22 · 02/09/2026 08:24

I was expecting this story to go along the lines... didn't know he was vicar. Bumped into him at church.
consenting adults here. No big deal: If he thinks less of you he should apply the same to himself

I just saw this and started pissing myself laughing and now my DD (7) thinks I'm weird.... or weirder than normal anyway. Thanks for a good laugh!

Pedallleur · 02/09/2026 09:03

Was it

Oh my God, Oh my God?

Don't worry, God will love a fallen woman. As long as the vicar doesn't suggest a rematch in the Vestry, the Pulpit or over the Altar

Thisistyresome · 02/09/2026 09:17

MyballsareSandy2015 · 31/08/2026 13:29

Are vicars allowed to do that … thought sex before marriage was a sin.

Regardless, sounds fun OP 🤣

So is getting drunk. I'm sure he prayed in the morning...

AllMyExesWearRolexes · 31/08/2026 13:47

Kitchen sofa? Missing the point I know...

Probably more suited to cleaning than the one in the living room... and you wouldn't want to disturb the furniture in the drawing room.

Middleagedspreadisreal · 02/09/2026 09:32

No protection? What if you're pregnant?

Idontpostmuch · 02/09/2026 10:05

Wtf !! Your brother married female vicar but he was also single and gay?? Vicar a job with good pay? We all know that's not true. What's this garbled nonsense about Theresa May? I would of loved to marry a vicar ! One would hope I would of not got pregnant. The next time you use crappy AI, choose one that can write English.

Unlikely at 43. Although I know someone who conceived at 45, most women are infertile by 41, approx 10 yrs before menopause, and one act makes it even less likely.

JohnofWessex · 02/09/2026 10:26

Simply reading some threads suggests that over 40's are quite capable of conceiving

I thought vicars were a bit more chaste, but I guess he took his dog collar off.

He might have been chaste, but it seems he was easily caught !

HumbleStumble · 02/09/2026 10:57

So you guys enjoyed the blood of christ before moving on to the body of christ.

It's well known that some women of that age are quite capable of conceiving, but the chances of a 43 yr old conceiving with a ONS are slim, far lower than a 30 yr old. In this case probably zero since I don't think it happened.
