Omg I shagged the vicar

BC for this one!!

last summer I moved to a new village with my 2 teen DC’s following my divorce. I’ve made a real effort to integrate into village life and joined a cycling group which I love.

a couple of new members joined a few months ago, one of whom is the vicar from a nearby parish. He’s 39 single. I’m 43.

on Friday we all met for drinks snd I ended Ho inviting a group back to my house. Kids are away with their dad. We all had a few more drinks at my house before people started heading home. There’s been a little bit of flirtation between me and the vicar and it ended up just me and him- we had some more wine and he was being very complimentary and was clearly trying it on. We ended up kissing and I’m afraid that I ended up shagging him on my kitchen sofa. Very out of character for me.

im now mortified that I have to see him at cycle meet this week. My friends think it’s hilarious but im worried he’ll think I’m loose and common. 😲

Was he late to the clergy? Previous job something different ( I don't need to out him, just curious).

39, steady job, free house, crap wages but plenty of Sunday lunches you don't have to cook. The neighbours are usually quiet!

My husband was going to be a vicar. He didn't but my God he would come under dishy vicar if he had.

Bloody brilliant but it had been a while!

Thank goodness. This would be so much worse if it was lousy.
sounds like this vicar is blessed in more ways than one.

happypostac · 31/08/2026 18:11

Hmmm the vicar in my village is in his late 30s or early 40s 🤔

😆

I'd immediately lose respect for any Religious figure having grubby drunken kitchen shags and think he shouldn't be in that job.

The people that think it's every MNetters fantasy are usually the same ones who think shagging a married man is hot because they were soooo attractive that he risked losing everything for him.

When the reality is they were an easy shag.

Which the Vicar thought OP was. Which suggests OP isn't the first drunken divorcee in her 40s he's tried it on with and succeeded because the drunken middle aged woman think it's so naughty and so hot and a tale they can tell on MN and for the rest of their lives to make them more interesting at dinner parties.

When it's really a grubby encounter with a man exploiting his position who shouldn't be in the job he is.

I bet he's shagged most of the sad drunken middle aged divorcees in his diocese and the surrounding areas.

Did you know it was a grubby kitchen?

This man really does sound like a complete player and an irresponsible arse.

Not using protection does seem incredibly reckless, particularly under the circumstances of him being a vicar. 🫪

Dorothyperky · 31/08/2026 18:14

I'd start wearing a tea dress and a straw hat.

Fake it until you make OP.

Marleyandme71 · 31/08/2026 18:14

Definitely a "more tea vicar" moment 😂

Sereine · 31/08/2026 18:14

Lapdog78 · 31/08/2026 18:08

Nope. Totally stupid

Have you got the MAP?

StupidCupid50 · 31/08/2026 18:16

You never know he might want a rematch!!!

noodlebugz · 31/08/2026 18:16

Pretty sure it’s the vicar that needs to say sorry to the baby Jesus!

Or a second coming.

GalaDinner · 31/08/2026 18:17

Blimey.

godmum56 · 31/08/2026 18:07

get tested. Even vicars can get the pox

Especially this one!

comeoncolleen · 31/08/2026 18:17

He was clearly up for it. Not sure why anyone would be shocked or surprised, except about the lack of contraception.

Italiangreyhound · 31/08/2026 18:19

It must be a bloody big kitchen to have a sofa in it!

LBFseBrom · 31/08/2026 18:19

Go for it, girl!

grooveraidiator · 31/08/2026 18:19

no contraception. wow. please go and get checked.

Zerosleep · 31/08/2026 18:19

Go for it OP, you only live once. You are both single and clearly he was up for it too!

Italiangreyhound · 31/08/2026 18:21

Is this likely to become 'a thing'?

Sounds exciting.

disturbia · 31/08/2026 18:21

Did he ask you out on a date? Or does he have form for shagging parishioners.

Alittlefrustrated · 31/08/2026 18:21

I actually find that a bit worrying. Not sure vicars are supposed to shag around the parish. Are they not supposed to wait for marriage?
Might he be a risk to vulnerable women?
No reflection in you OP obviously.
I'd take this thread down. Too many identifiable details. He could get into trouble. Maybe he should 🤔
I'm not religious, so might be completey wrong.

Markovenchip · 31/08/2026 18:24

You both enjoyed it, that's all that matters, just put it down to experience on life's diverse journey.....🙂

AstonCanKissMyArse · 31/08/2026 18:26

BunnyLake · 31/08/2026 15:14

I didn’t realise OP was vulnerable. I missed that bit.

We don't know.

Presumably he doesn't either, which is sort of the point.

This is a funny story because OP is finding it funny - if she was sitting at home cringing and full of regret, feeling like he'd taken advantage of her being pissed, it wouldn't be funny at all. He's in a position of responsibility and he should act like it.

SewYellowLikeButter · 31/08/2026 18:27

Personally I think the vicar may judge himself for sinning more than you considering this act is against his very faith. As is getting drunk tbf. I don’t think he will judge you… the whole point of his faith is forgiveness and embracing sinners.
