Omg I shagged the vicar

BC for this one!!

last summer I moved to a new village with my 2 teen DC’s following my divorce. I’ve made a real effort to integrate into village life and joined a cycling group which I love.

a couple of new members joined a few months ago, one of whom is the vicar from a nearby parish. He’s 39 single. I’m 43.

on Friday we all met for drinks snd I ended Ho inviting a group back to my house. Kids are away with their dad. We all had a few more drinks at my house before people started heading home. There’s been a little bit of flirtation between me and the vicar and it ended up just me and him- we had some more wine and he was being very complimentary and was clearly trying it on. We ended up kissing and I’m afraid that I ended up shagging him on my kitchen sofa. Very out of character for me.

im now mortified that I have to see him at cycle meet this week. My friends think it’s hilarious but im worried he’ll think I’m loose and common. 😲

Hasn't he just broken the rules he preaches? Alcohol and sex ? I would have assumed he would follow the ‘no sex before marriage ‘ or at least before actual relationship advice.

Did you yell “Oh my god!” as you reached your ‘pinnacle’?
I’m sure he’d have judged you for that.

I howled at this!.

Have to ask- was he good shag?

OonaStubbs · 31/08/2026 17:51

Did you go to church on Sunday? Was his sermon hard to swallow?

Sounds like a Fiona Walker type novel to me. Needs to have an eccentric older neighbour, a stalwart best friend with whom the heroine has lots of wine and heart to hearts at the pine kitchen table, a part time job at the village GP surgery or local Arts Centre and a competing love interest in the shape of a hunky landscape gardener.

Katie Fforde, I was thinking!

EppingIsFun · 31/08/2026 17:54

Surely you have to get married now, to remedy against sin 🤣

Chattanoogachoo · 31/08/2026 17:54

You know you'll now have to marry him.

Happyjoe · 31/08/2026 17:55

I think this must be up there with one of my fav titles for a thread.

Yes, Fiona Walker is probably more of a poor woman's Jilly Cooper. Horses, dogs and toffs! No one comes close to Jilly though 😪

Hahaha 🤣🤣🤣😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣

Flutterkitten · 31/08/2026 17:58

I don’t know about the religious aspect or if it’s allowed but I always thought it would be be quite nice to live in a vicarage , especially at Christmas. Y’know , like the Vicar of Dibley. All walled gardens and mature fruit trees and well worn polished furniture . Rent free!

You have a sofa, in your kitchen?

Is this the stealth brag? That you have a kitchen large enough for a sofa?!

It’s really not that impressive ha ha

I hope he or you had a condom at the ready because if he's been dipping himself rather drunkenly into too many fonts, it doesn't bode well.

I’m ashamed to say that we didn’t use anything. I know how bad that is. I think the youngsters refer to it as ‘raw dogging’

I hope you had a coil in OP. The Lord moves in mysterious ways ( sorry I can't help it, I love a good vicar joke).

Why tell your friends

Exactly! Come on - you can’t leave us in suspense like that.

Bloody brilliant but it had been a while!

Not often one pulls a vicar. Good on you!

This is hilarious. Are vicars even allowed to do that?. 😂🤣😂🤣

Its still a thing that women are judged on being slags, not saying its right but its definitely not gone away as a social stigma.

Look at bonnie blue...

Well she’s a bit of a different category. Something seriously emotionally damaged about her.

Is that why they wear a dog collar. Because of all the dogging?
