Zia Youseff took himself off to Portsmouth today and got into a row with Tommo in front of Sky cameras

While he was there, Yusuf was confronted by Daniel Thomas, a far-right agitator closely linked to Tommy Robinson. Thomas helped to organise the protests and he told Yusuf that he was not happy about Nigel Farage condemning the protesters for wearing balaclavas. Sky News has video of the encounter.

As Sky reports, Thomas told Yusuf:

You have to tell Nigel [Farage], he cannot – he did this before, when we had a million people on the streets of London ... he called us knuckledraggers ... Nigel needs to be very careful with his words.

Such lovely people

You're saying that the threats to NF are from the far right? Colour me shocked

News out now (locally) that both Southampton and Portsmouth refused them entry and the RLNI were threatened with legal action if they docked.

Im getting that from Portsmouth News. No further info.

i had the misfortune to be at QA hospital's A and E dept last night with a family member and heard a handcuffed young bloke making really unpleasant remarks .
He was waiting for his wounds to be fixed by members of the lovely staff who are from many different countries as is usually is the case in our NHS,

That’s the hospital ds was admitted to at the beginning of the year. such lovely staff there IME.

It’s also where he sees the physio and his neurologist apt is in a few weeks.

Where both my parents and my friend who just died were all treated for cancer.

Lots of “migrant” staff. But I doubt it could run without them.

itsgettingweird · 07/09/2026 19:52

Hope your relative is ok now Flowers

placemats · 07/09/2026 19:58

His name is Danny Tommo, aka Danny Thomas. After spending time in jail, he became a Christian. A Christian who is against migration and was seen attacking a boat. According to Channel 4 News.

@itsgettingweird Ah thank you , back on track now fingers crossed.
It is a very busy place but can only say good things about the staff we've seen.
I hope you will have good appointments with your ds too when they come around.

Ds has been under them since he was about 5!!! He’s 22now!

He also uses St Mary’s, S’ton and GWM!

I think we know who Reform voting women might need to defend themselves from, someone in the comments asked if they had shown them what to do if a man was hitting them over the head with a stick whilst a woman pulled their hair

I am not posting on that Portsmouth thread as it is just insane. Plenty of covert airing of the Great Replacement etc. I opened the rise of the far right thread. Closed it again (but hearted one of your posts before I left ❤️).

I think we are in for a few days of intense anti-asylum seeker activity on social media.

Thank you. I've never had so many hearts on one post!

I’ve said on previous threads that we have a Dr, heading some NHS staff group or other, attending our SUTR meetings - not a natural habitat for him I don’t think - because he is getting so concerned about the NHS staff and staffing. They are feeling unwelcome alongside all this rubbish and he’s concerned they’ll leave in big numbers and the NHS will collapse. He looks to link with any group that’s pushing back on it. It’s so dire as it is, but we could well have severe consequences too.

On the other hand, just an anecdote, An old school friend of my daughter’s (who is now 40) has started training to be a nurse though, and it’s recently come to light she’s on the far right about immigration- attending protests and the like - I don’t know what that’ll turn out - baffles me.

I’m so conflicted now - I have seen NF say something I agree with - of course it is wrong, as seen on here, to be offensive to peoples’ capacity 👀

This is dreadful- I didn’t think anywhere would refuse, could refuse? the RNLI docking.

Happened to meet did they?
Very convenient.

Yusuf would do a deal with criminals like Thomas in a flash. This was him trying to get support for his leadership bid. Everything is a competition.

Apparently it’s because it was a dangerous situation and they weren’t in danger when they were rescued.

Southampton have commented.

The Kings harbour master for Portsmouth haven’t commented.

Sorry but what was a dangerous situation? The groups of faux militia? Because then they reached their aims (albeit just forced the RNLI further down the coast).

Llttledrummergirl · 08/09/2026 08:23

I would imagine, (knowing Portsmouth better than Southampton) that they will cite safety issues and passenger disruption from protesters as a reason.

I just saw on X a post naming two of the RNLI men who helped rescue the asylum seekers. Not in a "well done" way but in a "let's get 'em folks" way. It's awful. The comments were vile.

There are photos of the masked men taking pictures of RNLI volunteers.

They will doxx them.
Whixh introduces a new risk - both to the RNLI staff but also to their families.

Appalling stuff from violent thugs.

just co-incidence that this deluge of hate and activity on social media happens right after Nige's dodgy donations and moves the narrative away from that focus. 🤔

Not on Mumsnet though. All posters are bona fide apparently.

A new or nane changed poster has started a thread in AIBU "Talk of the government organising for the boats to come over". MNHQ hid it for a while but now it is back. So conspiracy theories are now OK on here.
