Dame Priti wrote on social media that she would be leaving the front bench position to take up a new role focused on strengthening "links with sister parties and centre right movements around the world".

Andrew Griffith - financial secretary to the Treasury under Truss and big supporter of Truss/Kwarteng ‘fiscal event’ - as Shadow chancellor. Quite why she’d want to associate herself with the Truss brand I don’t know.
I suppose there are still some wealthy Tories that want to implement Trussonomics - not sure that will wash elsewhere.

Boringly and yet again, some commentators see the 'new' shadow cabinet, who nobody actually cares about, as a signal to Brunham (sic) to call a general election - sick - for reasons only they know.

I looked back and saw one set of prints from high heeled shoes…Tim Curry had carried Dolly
or words to that general effect.

That's insane. She really doesn't read the room country.

I’m not sure she even reads what’s her comms people write for her for her socials.

Wither that or she has amnesia that she was even in the Tory party up until 2024 when Labour took over.

I am back home, beset by cats who have missed me. Honestly, had the most restful weekend ever. And only about 3 weeks before I am off to Canada!

Jealous of Canada @pointythings ! I really, really want to go to Newfoundland. And I’d like to do the Rocky Mountaineer too.

I'm just going to a friend of DS' wedding. It started as an online/by letter friendship and evolved, we had her and her OH at ours for Christmas in 2023 because they were in Europe and had no family here. And we just clicked with them both. The wedding is in Edmonton and afterwards we are invited along to a lodge in Banff national park.

Ooh definitely jealous @pointythings. The scenery there is wonderful. And the Canadians are so nice.
