Yes that’s a very interesting article.

Agree, worrying if no one knew of the plans.
that must have been a frightening encounter Countrygirl hope you are ok
Marina Hyde did make me laugh with the toy phone in a Wendy house scenario.

I was subjected to a verbal and physical assault recently by a mother and daughter who I know are Reform supporters. It was nothing to do with politics and purely because they blame a friend of mine for them being caught out doing something wrong. So no low surprises me re Reform supporters.
A family member was a very senior member of UKIP. He was obsessed with the EU but lovely in many ways and a proper gentleman. He knew Farage extremely well and resigned over his rise to leadership. His opinion of Farage would be in line with this thread.

That’s awful, @countrygirl99, I’m so sorry you went through that.

countrygirl99 · 06/09/2026 13:30

I'm fine. I knew they'd be trouble but thought they would just make it obvious they were ignoring me. I've known them through a hobby for 20 years and knew they were a bad lot with an unlimited sense of entitlement. But they are banned for life from 2 establishments which was being contemplated before, due to what they were caught out at, but is now definate.

Some national security-related observations about Dover yesterday

It doesn’t seem very spontaneous to me.

Really? I quite often go to random places dressed all in black ski wear and balaclava in 20+°c heat and meet hundreds of others who decided to spontaneously do the same thing 😉

They really do have contempt for the electorate. Just because their voters are the words we mustn’t use - doesn’t mean the rest of us are!

itsgettingweird · 06/09/2026 14:05

And in a sentence that’ll please you lot - I’ve realise this past year as I’ve got older I’m becoming more left wing away from centre! 😇☺️

That article is pretty scary @DuncinToffee
I do hope MI5 and SO15 were absent to allow moles and further study rather than ignorance…

Vaguely reminded me of "Die Hard"

Karistyleaftea · 06/09/2026 16:26

The scenes from the conference were appalling.
I couldn't watch LK but saw that Farage was listed as being on today and I wonder if she held him to account regarding this?
His smirking face whilst that young woman was assaulted was dreadful.

She was a lot harder on him than she has been in the past. He hated it.

I'm not alone in remembering stories of some police being in cahoots with the National Front in the 70s ?

Not sure why that popped into my head.

☹️

That is really upsetting.

Evenstar · 06/09/2026 20:44

@TemperanceWest it upset me, but it has the measure of these men, look how many of the rioters last summer had convictions for violence including against Women and Girls

Absolutely. The reality of it is what makes it so powerful.

itsgettingweird · 06/09/2026 21:37

Agree.

and they can deny it all they want but evidence points to the contrary.

DuncinToffee · 06/09/2026 22:09

Trouble in Portsmouth tonight.

A migrant boat arrived there today and people are trying to stop coaches taking them to Kent's processing centre.

OP posts:
Llttledrummergirl · 06/09/2026 22:11

Fucking hell. How thick do you have to be to prevent the police moving migrants to a processing centre so that they can begin the process of being returned, when you claim that you don't want thise arriving on small boats to be allowed to stay? Would they rather the police just let them wander free?

Bloody ridiculous behaviour.

Llttledrummergirl · 06/09/2026 22:12

Cross post there @DuncinToffee.

They are in a stand off with the RNLI

https://bsky.app/profile/yeomans.bsky.social/post/3muuvbxdnds2m
Extreme right-wing protesters are in a stand-off with the RNLI in Portsmouth. The group, led by Danny Tommo, are waist-deep in the sea and threatening to go "under the water" if police try to arrest them. Six lifeboats monitoring. Volunteer rescuers giving up their evening for this.

Organised again by Daniel Thomas - criminal conviction for armed kidnapping & mate of Yaxley Lennon.

Amazing how many men with criminal records have time on their hands to do this sort of thing. Wonder who pays for it.
