who is the person born the earliest that you have know

for example I can remember my great granny, she was born in 1879 and died at 98

but we had lodgers for a while whilst I was growing up and the one lady's born in 1868, always wore a hat to go out, never went out without one.

Yeah, my great gran and great uncle who were born in 1879 and 1880 (sister and brother,) were the earliest born people I knew ... And a couple of other great aunts who were born in the mid 1880s... All 4 didn't die til the 1970s when I was a child... (Actually, the one aunt born in 1886 lived to 95, so she lived til 1981, when I was in my early teens.)

I do actually find it wild sometimes, that I knew people who were born in Victorian times, (late 1800s,) and here I am over a quarter of the way through the 21st Century!

Granny. 1888. Died in 1987 aged 99.

My great grandmother was 1901 and died when I was a teenager, but I’m sure I knew old ladies at church who were born before then.

My gran was born in 1912,two.months after Titanic sunk.She was 98 when she died.

My grandad, who I saw quite a lot and remember very well, was born in 1884 and died in the early 70s. Like a lot of very poor people of his generation he was very short - about 5’3”. His sons, born between the mid 1900s and 1920s were also quite short.
I met a couple of his older brothers and sisters as a child but don't have a clear recollection.

My Great Granny was with us until I was a teenager. She was about 97 in the mid 90s so must have been born around 1900 or a few years earlier.

When I started my career in 1999, I'd often see patients born in the 1890's onwards. I had a great uncle live to 104 and my own nan to be 102.

My great grandmother, I guess. I was about 6 when she died so I don't remember her well, and I can't remember exactly when she was born, but I think it was sometime around the early 1890s.

My great nan was born in the 1870s.

That would have been my grandad's sister. She died when I was very young. I'm not sure exactly when she was born but maybe around 1904? I know she was grown up and married with kids when my grandad was still little. She was a lovely woman, very well to-do but I only remember a little about her.

Interestingly, my grandma always said her mother in law was "strict" and "prim and proper" but I noticed that this sister was born only about 3 months after her parents' marriage... not a big deal these days but back then surely a bit scandalous!

My grandfather, who was born in 1886. Died around 1970. I was very small and scared of this forbidding Victorian-looking gentleman, with a watch chain and all.

Great Granny, a Holocaust survivor, born in 1889.

I think a neighbour of my grandparents, I was told she was 100 and I was about 4, so she'd have been born 1867ish. Obviously don't remember much but I was fascinated by the way she lit a cigarette from the stub of the previous, serious chain smoker (my grandmother very much disapproved, on the grounds of unladylikeness!)

Probably my great gran, father’s side. She died when I was quite small, 5 or so I think, but I remember her, the smell of her rose perfume, the feel of the swishy floral long skirts she always wore and the way she would hold our hand while she spoke to us in her sweet, quiet voice. She was 93 when she died so was born in 1906, if my maths serves me correctly, and I think it does.

My maternal grandmother was born in 1898, I think.

I knew a man who was on the Titanic.

He travelled with his mother as a baby and got on in the UK and off in Belfast where they stopped to pick up crew.

My grandad was born 1894. He had my mum in 43.

1905 my Hen Nain (great grandmother) she died in the early 90’s.

I met a great-great aunt once who was probably born in the early 1880s. My grandparents were born in the late 1890s.

I am old & my grandmother had my father at the age of 40. She died when I was 5 & she was born in 1875.

I feel ancient!

My aunt was born in 1880 and died aged 113. She was the oldest person alive in the UK for a time.

My Great Granny was born in 1889 and died when I was a pre-teen.

Two of my great-grandparents were still alive when I was born and they would've been born before 1900. My grandad was born in 1910 and he was the youngest of 10 or 11, so some of his brothers and sisters were born in the late 1800s and were still around for me to meet them.

I'm in my 40s, and the oldest person I knew was my great grandma, born in 1904, died when I was 17 or 18.

My dad's great grandfather died aged 99 in 1960, so 1861 which is an interesting thought.

As my dad says, just think you've (me) shook the hand of someone (him) who shook the hand of someone (his great grandfather), who shook the hand of someone born in the 1790s (great grandfather's grandmother).

Three handshakes away from all that history. I love that!
