What food prep job are you really lazy about?

Christ, I hate grating cheese. If I have to grate, I buy it grated. (But not Parmesan because I'm not a savage)
also real garlic if it's going in a tray bake, but anything else I buy the frozen stuff from Tesco
Dried chilies instead of fresh, and cooked food
haven't sieved flour for 30 years yet unknown for my brilliant sponge cakes

All of it! I don't cook, I just heat up. I do make soup though. And I don't mind grating cheese.

Onions - I get the fresh sliced red onions. Lazy garlic. Cheese - yep that too. I make butternut squash soup but the price difference - currently still chop it myself, as well as mushrooms.

Butternut squash for soup does not need chopping or peeling. Just cut off the top, cut it in half and scoop the seeds, then in the oven with olive oil rubbed into it. The skin softens so much that you can whizz the whole lot

Rarely (never) wash fruit or veg, or peel them….

llove aubergine, hardly ever cook it as it takes so long to get then silky and lovely….

I absolutely hate grating cheese and yet can't stand the ready grated, always seems dry and powdery.
I use lazy garlic and ginger, ready prepared peppers and butternut squashes and have never sieved flour, and yet all of my bakes come out great.

Garlic crushing - I sometimes just use dried
also onion chopping - will buy it chopped if I can!

mellongoose · Today 06:48

I grate my garlic.

I feel like I just made a confession 😆

Frozen bags of steam fresh vegetables. Few minutes in the microwave, dine, and full of flavour. Sod peeling, chopping, boiling and washing several pans

Frozen Sofritto
frozen onions
frozen garlic
frozen basil

If I could find a grated cheese without potato starch I would buy it!

Hmmmmwineandchocs · Today 07:05

Same as you but i make my husband grate cheese as he won’t pay for pre grated as he hates the coating.
I’d use the squeezy ginger but he decided it’s better to buy fresh and freeze it so that’s another job he’s gained.
I chop a few onions and peppers then freeze them so i can chuck them in pasta/omelettes.
We always do skin on potatoes.

I used to get the garlic in a tube but I found it was too salty and oily for me. But the discovery (in the aforementioned distant Asda) of frozen butternut squash, carrot and swede mash and cauliflower cheese has livened up my roast dinners a treat.

Oh, and good chilled (not frozen) Yorkshire puddings. Despite living in Yorkshire, I can't make these worth a damn. I blame my oven for not getting hot enough although it's probably me.
