Which organisations if any have you decided to never use again for one reason or another?

I'll start with British Gas, awful company, very expensive and customer service is non existent..there is a reason they have lost a few million customers of recent years, close second place is EE for similar reasoning.

Boots opticians. Had a buy one get one half price on glasses. When I went to pick
them up they announced the principle pair couldn’t be made for my prescription and that as I therefore only had one pair I would have to pay full price for the prescription sunglasses - which I ony got because they would be half price. After much to and fro where they wouldn’t budge on this, I rejected the sunglasses and asked for a complete refund (you pay for glasses in advance). Then instead of refunding me they took the money AGAIN and didn’t get the whole lot back to me for several days. It was hundreds of pounds (glasses aren’t cheap).

Tesla. Or any other business owned or controlled by Elon Musk. I hate the stupid cars & I hate him. I’m sure he will be devastated to learn that he will never get a penny of my money.

Talk, Talk a nightmare. Tried sorting phone problem for elderly neighbour who had no internet just a phone. Vulnerable due to age. They were useless. Took most of the day to sort and that’s only because I posted on a social media site saying they were more like mute, mute than talk talk. Funny how problem quickly resolved but it cost me £15 in calls. Wouldn’t touch them with a barge pole.

Morrisons Supermarket - I will only nip into Morrisons if I really have no other option. The staff are verging on rude and you are basically forced to use the self-service tills at certain times.

ive tried them with 50% off vouchers, carefully pick out my recipes and get excited about eating something else this week, with the ease of the correct ingredients in the box.

I have tried 3 x and on all occasions at least one of the boxes has not been delivered (5 meals for 4 people comes in at least 2 boxes)
On 1 occasion nothing got delivered.
its easy to call them, and I have always got a refund straight away but the whole idea is it would save me hassle and time. But there I am finding the phone number, calling them and then still have to go out to meal plan and go to the shop.

I am not falling for it ever again 😠

Emirates airline - when I removed the in flight magazine from the seat pocket I was splattered with vomit from a bag left in there. They offered me a napkin to clean up. No bodily fluids spillage kit, no change of clothing ( surely they could have found some pyjamas from first class ). They did wipe the seat but did bugger all else. I had to wash face, hands and clothing in the washroom and endure an 8 hr flight in damp and stinking clothing with a risk of infection.

Fobbed off by customer services who initially denied id reported to cabin crew. On further complaint they said cabin crew offered alternative seating - which they didn’t. Finally offered £100 worth of flight points. I gave up at that stage (which I think was their aim) but I’ll never use them again. I guess we economy class with only 4 flights per year are insignificant.

Booking.com - we booked a hotel near our wedding venue for our wedding night. DH then cancelled that one night as he was going to stay there the night before too and get ready there on the day so he redid the booking for two nights. We didn’t know booking.com decided to cancel that randomly and not tell him. He showed up to the hotel the night before our wedding to be told they had no space for him as they were fully booked - yeah with our wedding guests! The hotel managed to sort it out but my brother and SIL were moved to another hotel by them so we could have the room that had been booked for them. Led to a huge amount of stress we didn’t need.

Lush. Dreadful company. ‘Protect trans kids’ bollocks.

WH Smith. Was bought a photography ‘experience day’ when my first child was born 20 years ago. It cost the gifter £45 and I stupidly lost the voucher. Found it 2 weeks after it went out of date one year post purchase and they wouldn’t honour it, allow me to pay extra to update it (I offered to pay an additional fee), or refund the person who bought it - not even partially. They just kept the money. Twats. I haven’t bough so much as a pack of gum from them since, not even at airports or train stations. They can go fuck themselves as far as I’m concerned.

Booking.com. Cancelled my confirmed booking for ‘no reason given’ then took payment from me after the cancellation!

I don't use prepayment myself but my mum does and apparently E energy is also a good shout

Yes, I think it should be mandatory for all online sellers to advertise the courier they use - then we can walk away for the Evri orders.

They also lie. They lost an expensive parcel for me, it rumbled on for a few weeks then they must've got a claim from the sender. They changed the online tracking information details 3 times in their fav, but I'd already taken screenshots.

I find British gas ok but will never touch Homeserve again. They were shitty when my Mum died and shitty again when my husband died. I had them in my house once, can't remember what the bit of gear was...something kitcheny...and the insurer sent a Homeserve contractor. he arrived smelling to high heaven, was as patronising as hell and when he left, drove straight across my neighbour's lawn...not across the edge, seriously straight across. My neighbour was understandably livid. I took photos, complained to the cover provider and got compensation for the damage which I passed to my neighbour.

And - greenwashing. How the hell people think their products are natural? There's very little in the products that is natural!
They also say their copious amounts of glitter is fine for the environment, forgetting that it takes an incredible amount of energy and heat to actually make all that glitter, how's that good for the environment?

Oh and Graze. they were expensive but I liked them for work. the concept was that you could choose your own snack selection...you could put stuff into "always, sometimes, never" I wasn't allowed my "never" choices because I was told that the resulting choices would "not be healthy enough" well they could fuck the fuck off and I told them that when i cancelled my subscription.

Aldi. They're absolutely crap.

I never ever take washing machine cover or anything like that as it's more trouble than it's worth, despite constantly getting the emails about it

So many other companies I wouldn't use as well - I get pissed off with any company that greenwashes and tells me how many plastic bottles it's saved by giving me something made of microplastics, as well as any company that uses palm oil - I don't care how "sustainable" it is - it just means the guy before you burned down 10 football pitches of rainforest so you didn't have to.

Changed their recipe to a vegan recipe and didn't label it as having an allergy change, so without checking (because I had bought it countless times) I fed it to daughter who's allergic to something which didn't used to be in it.

Emailed them asking why no allergy advice and got a twee reply saying they wanted to be more eco friendly and so they had gone vegan.

I explained that I haven't got an issue with the veganism but a heads up on allergies would have been nice, and they sent the exact same email back to me again. Twats.

Just looking at the cleanliness of those Just Eat backpack boxes (and similar firms) that you see around is enough to put me off ever using them.

I cant remember the name of the shop but it's a shoe shop in coppergate in York

I applied for a job there,aged 16 and they sent me a rejection letter

Only someone had 'forgotten' to put a stamp on the letter and I had to pay to get it

I didn't have much money at the time and it was a massive chunk out of my very small food budget (I still lived at home but my parents had stopped feeding me by then)

My mother went in (behind my back) and complained-they couldn't have been ruder about it

Made out i/she was making a fuss over nothing (she reckons they did it deliberately to save money)

In the end,the woman serving threw £3 at my mother and banned her

I will never step foot in another Vodafone shop

I bought a phone from them and it broke within a week

They told me it had been 'water damaged' (it bloody hadn't!) and threw me out of the shop

I don't know what my father said to them but they did replace it in the end

Carfone warehouse (I know it's closed now)

I bought a payg phone,all good until they sent me a bill

I rang to say I'd not taken out a contract and they swore I had-id paid cash for the phone and was topping up every month

They hounded me endlessly for about 2 years

Long story short,they sent in the bailiffs but got nowhere as I hadn't signed any contract and they dropped it

I cheered when they went under

Mothercare-i wanted a buggy for dd

I walked in and tried to get the attention of anyone to sell me the buggy I had my eye on

They all avoided eye contact,put their heads down and ignored me-i ended up at toysrus and finally got a buggy

Mothercares loss as I had a chunk of cash to spend (for once in my life) they went under a few years later

Halifax bank

I don't know what went wrong but when i was 15,I opened an account with them (just a basic savings account)

Everytime I put money in,a chunk would go out again (so for every £10 I put in,£4 would 'vanish')

I asked what the hell was going on and was told 'it's tax'

No amount of 'im 15,I don't pay tax' would sink in and it kept happening

I shut the account down (or thought i had) and went with HSBC (who have been amazing)

Apparently it's still open and I get statements from them sent to my parents (im nc with them but ds has seen the letters,open on the mantlepiece)

It must have cost them a fortune to keep it open-I've told them many times to close it but they havent and they keep sending the statements

John Lewis are dead to me. They abandoned their Sheffield store after Covid despite having signed a new 20 year lease. They also let dogs in - why would I want new clothes with dog hair on?
