Which organisations if any have you decided to never use again for one reason or another?

I'll start with British Gas, awful company, very expensive and customer service is non existent..there is a reason they have lost a few million customers of recent years, close second place is EE for similar reasoning.

Avoiding Amazon as much as possible now. No one needs stuff that quickly and we should buy from individual retailers if possible.
JD Sports. Rude. No refunds only credit note. Nope. No thank you.
Temu & Shien. Not even as resale.

Nando’s and KFC (halal)

We have a huge pharmacy nearby with amazing brands but unfortunately the criteria to work there seems to be being mean- have heard employees gossiping really meanly about people, ignoring people to deal with richer/ more sophisticated looking people and it’s actually like they go out of their way to act bored/ fed up when talking to customers. As I said great brands so I kept going in but would come out disillusioned with humanity every time I saw their interactions with customers!!

Ikea.

Well to be honest I've never been in one. Once I heard back in the mid 90s they wanted to force you to follow a route around a shop that was a no from me and although I believe they are less strict now, I have no intention of ever setting foot inside.

The Times & Sunday Times. So easy to subscribe, almost impossible to unsubscribe. It's like one of those events where they lock the doors and don't let you out till you've heard all their drivel. Luckily I think it is being made illegal to require people to phone up and talk to multiple humans and persuade them (each in turn) to let you stop paying them for something you don't want. Completely blew my mind that it ever was legal.
Apparently they are objecting to the change in the law that probably only had to be made because of them. If you didn't know you'd just assume they were a respectable company, but no. Absolute scum.

Virgin for broadband - just wasted our time only for it to eventually transpire they couldn't provide the service

Tommy tippee - they made a post where they painted breastfeeding in public as something you should feel awkward or embarrassed about to market their bottle feeding stuff

Frida baby - sexualising babies in their marketting material, yuck

Tesco for grocery delivery - they were always so late and didn't have basics available

Air bnb - ridiculous fees

Apple products- overpriced for what you get

Lush. Disgusting misogynist company. I loved their predecessor, Cosmetics to Go, when I was a teenager - they were an ethical brand with fantastic affordable products. Now they're expensive, treat their employees appallingly and hate women. So it's a no from me.

Lloyds bank who tried to charge my then 89 year old father over £450 for contents and house insurance as being a long time customer of many years, he just paid it without realising he should have shopped around. He trusted them.

We cancelled it once we found out and reduced it down to around £150 with another company.

It seems to be loved on here but I had an awful experience with them after seeing them recommended on a thread.

Communication with every person I spoke to, it seemed like they were a bunch of 20 year olds running it. I'm sure it's just a group of friends who are the middle guys purchasing from China then selling on. One email daily from them around dinner time saying the same thing the last person said, nonsense about wanting the details despite repeatedly giving it to them. Phonecalls which led no where as they didn't seem to know their arse from their elbow.

I ordered some duvet covers. I received a HUGE box of kids clothes/beach wear and other stuff. Got in touch with them. They wanted me to put a lot of work in to getting it back to them and took almost a week until it finally got picked up. Waited another week or two for my actual order to come.

My order came and it was utter tat. Other than loads of thread hanging and dodgy stitching, they were dirty! As if they'd been dragged around a dusty factory floor. After all the fuss, I decided to wash one and hope for the best, just so I didn't have to deal with them again but the dirt was stained on. They tried arguing that they can't accept washed items but after a lot of to-ing and fro-ing, loads of photos sent proving they were dirty before the wash, I eventually got a refund a few weeks later. Wouldn't touch them with a bargepole.

I mean, the companies don’t exist anymore but Talktalk and Eon.

+1. Unwilling to give any money directly to Bezos or Musk, I know they still get it in indirect ways but won’t be having an account with any of their organisations

I see your ‘hard to leave’ and raise you to ‘hard to join’. They came, dug up my garden, left exposed wires and a box attached to my wall then decided they could not fit, cancelled the contract and refused to answer any mails.

every Single one of them pointless ‘customer service’ patronising, unhelpful, obstructive…scammers
and all all except the council were from the depths of India/philipines with poor grasp on English even scripted but randomly called Sally/steve/ian/suzane .frustrating & a HUGE waste of time when the language barrier muted any issued vs remedy

Vodafone made ending my contract a nightmare and their mistakes damaged my credit score. They wouldn’t fix it, so I escalated the case to the ombudsman. The ombudsman upheld my complaint, corrected my credit file, issued a formal apology, and awarded £1,400 compensation.

Dyson. Voted for Brexit then moved their UK operations to Singapore. Never rated their hoovers so that’s no big loss. Pretty sure my hair would benefit from an AirWrap but hell would freeze over before I bought one.

Local charity shop - assistant was super rude to my daughter and I haven’t been back in in six years even though it’s the one that gets all the good stuff. 😂

Vrbo - used them for the first time this summer for a villa rental in France.
Crazy owners trying to extract €400 for damages we never made - and vrbo have been totally useless in managing it all.

Sadly Talk Talk very much exist and have recently refused my POA as they know better than the law and prefer to follow their own process rather than the government one.

No they aren’t. His work is still appallingly poor, lacking scholarship and include both plagerism and fraudulent data. But more importantly it seems this is widespread in academia so it is no surprise other academics want to stop public scrutiny.

they were truly awful. Refused to cancel my contract. Kept me on hold until the department I wanted was closed. Just awful

Mines British Gas too 😂 in my old house I kept trying to get smart meters but they always said they had no engineers ever in my whole time living there. I kept checking with them my bills were right and I submitted readings without fail. Insisted my account was right and it showed I didn’t owe anything. I then moved out to be hit with a £900 bill and was bloody fuming!! Paid it all off over about a year then got a cheque back for £300 🤔 haven’t used them since and always thought they were one of the big suppliers so must be good. It caused me so much stress at the time and it annoyed me so much that over the years they told me my billing was absoloutely fine

Specsavers audiology. Treated my mum so badly when she was dying and her expensive hearing aids wouldn’t work.
