Why is Taylor Swift ‘leading’ tributes to Dolly Parton?

It’s irritating the ever living shit out of me. Fuck off Taylor, go and think up another publicity stunt. A woman with actual talent has died, this isn’t a bandwagon for you to jump your plastic ass on. Have you read her torrent of drivel - she manages to shoehorn herself into the spotlight throughout. It reads as if she views Parton as laying the groundwork for her own career - monumental fuckwittery.

Taylor’s statement on Dolly’s passing is beautiful tbh. I’m not a fan of Taylor’s music but I am not sure how you can read it and be angry. It’s lovely.

I’ll admit I don’t know a whole lot about Taylor Swift, but to say she’s not talented is nonsense. She’s hugely talented.

I also know very little about Dolly Parton, but her death has made me read several things about her. She sounds like a wonderful woman. And she definitely admired Taylor Swift 😊

It’s fine to not like Taylor Swift, she is probably the biggest music star in the world and alongside that comes a whole industry of money making businesses that profit alongside her……but to call her talentless is a mental observation. Taylor wrote her own songs from the age of 13 and plays multiple instruments, she was performing live at concerts at 16 where you can see her playing a guitar and singing without autotune a song she had written!
Someone definitely caught her boyfriend playing his instrument to Taylor Swift 😂

Taylor Swift does not need to think up any publicity stunts. Literally everything she does is newsworthy because she’s the most famous woman on the planet.

Dolly championed young women in the music industry. She was unfailingly kind and supportive of other women. Maybe you could learn something from her?

I do not think for one second that Taylor got up and said “ I am leading the tributes to Dolly Parton”. She was just one of many celebrities posting about Dolly Parton. It is the way the media presented it. They always do. Whenever someone famous passes away, there is always a headline “X is leading tributes”.

I read a really nice message that Eminem had posted about Dolly Parton and a letter she had sent to him many years ago. So perhaps Eminem is leading the tributes!

Honestly OP it's just something the media say as a throwaway headline. I have no particular thoughts either way regarding Taylor Swift but perhaps you have some lessons to learn from Dolly Parton regarding building other people up and being able to have a laugh.

She has a good PR outfit.

Honestly OP, I don't think TS's nice words about Dolly deserve such vitriol and it certainly doesn't honour the memory of someone renowned for their warmth, wit and generosity as well as their talent.

Motley Crue, Jack White, Talking Heads, Beyoncé. It’s really gorgeous to see just how much her goodness, generosity and talent were so universally admired.
