Does anyone else feel the UK is heading towards a crisis?

Price rises not coming down, cost of living gone mad, car crashes, heatwave after heat wave, wild fires.
NHS is falling, NHS dentist is like winning the loto, threats from russia.
Bills cost more than anything.
Benefit bill is out of control.
People getting attacked.

I may have missed a few things, but it feels like the UK is just building up to something big gonna kick off.
Im sure it won't but life is just crap right now.
Not to mention we are gonna get a hell of a winter with this EL nion predicted.

I feel like saying lets have a full war and end this crap then re start again( figure of speech), not living just surviving.
And the cost of being a parent now is unreal.

OK let's take the following scenario:

Person A is in a job earning say £10 a day and his boss earns say £50 a day.

Along comes a new company that really needs Person A skills so hires her on say £60 a day. The company does really well and the boss earns say £200 a day.

Is person A better off or worse off in their new job?

As a 76 year old UK resident, I have lived through many a crisis.
There is nothing new under the sun.

I’d say Person A deserved the pay rise given they had to change sex for the new job.

That doesn’t happen so it’s a false analogy. What would happen is that the new company would look at local ‘market conditions’ and realise they could make a lot more money. Maybe they might hire person A on £11 an hour instead. And then require her to do more as she’s getting paid more, or reduce their workforce.

Some of you middle class sorts really need to have a look at what is actually happening in parts of this country. We’ve already been abandoned. Of course a lot of it is propaganda and lies, and many working people have already left this site for various past crackdowns on language , or the fact that it’s so at odds with their lived experience.

Boom and bust cycles are a fact I’m afraid. But we have also had war Covid and Brexit which has made things worse. It’s shit but the 70s were worse believe it or not.

When did we have a war?

The 70s will look like bliss with what’s coming. We’re heading for years of high inflation to inflate away the enormous national debt that’s an albatross around our necks. Either that or severe financial constraints imposed by the IMF as condition of them bailing us out. The future is very bleak.

Have you not noticed tankers being blown up in the Gulf?

And Russian refineries blown up?

There are two wars going on and if you think we’re not affected then you might want to look up the oil price.

We’re very close to war with Russia because of the aid/arms given to the Ukraine.

We were heavily involved with the Afghanistan and Iraqi wars. We are involved with the current Iran war.

Just because we’re not being bombed doesn’t mean we’re not part of wars further away.

There are wars all the time, all over the world. The last time the UK declared war was against Argentina.
