Price rises not coming down, cost of living gone mad, car crashes, heatwave after heat wave, wild fires.
NHS is falling, NHS dentist is like winning the loto, threats from russia.
Bills cost more than anything.
Benefit bill is out of control.
People getting attacked.

I may have missed a few things, but it feels like the UK is just building up to something big gonna kick off.
Im sure it won't but life is just crap right now.
Not to mention we are gonna get a hell of a winter with this EL nion predicted.

I feel like saying lets have a full war and end this crap then re start again( figure of speech), not living just surviving.
And the cost of being a parent now is unreal.

A lot of the people in our country are oblivious. Just give it a year or so and then they'll know what everyone else is having to endure Unfortunately we are all not sheltered from the current migrant crisis

All governments are absolutely prepared to “look at the debts”. They have whole departments whose job it is to do this.

And then they have to reconcile balancing the budget with voters who won’t vote for them if they raise taxes or cut costs.

Hmm, not sure about the mums getting fake nails and lattes instead of taking their kids to the dentist?

The problem is that the dentist is either unavailable or unaffordable?

Not to say that it's so much better elsewhere, but I pay $70 a month for healthy and dental insurance through work, and that covers all the basic stuff for me and the kids. Fillings, clean ups, scale and polish etc.

These debts are unsustainable. The interest we are paying as tax payers is disgusting.

I don't care about Labour trying to get votes at the next election. I want spending managed properly by a competent government. If not call a general election and get Burnham and the rest of his useless party out.

The fact most people can’t access an NHS dentist is dire. Most people I know pay for private (which I think is appalling) given they don’t want to do this, but can’t get an NHS dentist so have no other choice. The amount of people who can’t access one and can’t afford to pay private fees is inexcusable. It’s the same with doctor’s appointments. It’s an awful postcode lottery and often those who are in most need are deprived of access to these fundamental services. It’s the sum of years of austerity at the expense of people. It feels rather Victorian compared to our European counterparts. Many are accepting of this as the norm and that is even more concerning.

I think there are things worldwide which are of deeo concern - climate change, cost of living, Trump style politics etc.

BUT - we are also bombarded by a 24/7 mews cycle, & an avalanche of opinion on social media - which inevitably leads to a feeling of catastrophe.

The general expectation to a certain standard of living has dramatically changed , and so people are increasingly dissatisfied and disillusioned with their lives. On the one hand, we're sold an unattainable dream of materialistic wealth & luxury, next to news articles on economic crisis. And then being told the most desperate in society are at fault for our woes. I think the way in which we live now has also eroded our resilience.

That's not to say things aren't tough for many people right now - but that's been true throughout almost every period of history, it's just that our digital, highly connected world is now amplifying those issues, so that they feel disastrous.

People need to remember they are being fed structured bad news all day every day by all forms of media for a reason.

Control of populations via fear and forced messaging, be that for personal (media moguls) or political gain has never been more rife.

Listening to the news and commentary on SM it seems people are ever more fearful and think walking down a city street will have them stabbed in a hot second when in reality recent years have seen a decline in homicide rates over recent years.

Sure, let's worry about global warming etc, but on a political level I think we are best off questioning who we are being told is the 'problem' and then looking in the opposite direction for the real one.

As ever, we are a carbon copy of the US, unfortunately. These exact fear mongering tactics are what got Trump two terms.

At the end of the day, the NHS will always be my priority and that means not faling for the hyperbole and voting for parties not in the pockets of big business (ie, those who own the media pushing the narrative of despair to encourage us to vote in the very people who will raise our taxes and lower theirs!)

Strongly agree with this - if you live in a middle class bubble you can escape the reality of it.

Not sure the NHS needs protecting - it needs serious reform and the UK population need to think about other models (and not fall into the thinking that it is free or the hysteria surrounding American healthcare) - it is utterly unsustainable. Social care is at the point of collapse.
