Why hasn’t Brad Pitt been cancelled?

Why hasn’t Brad Pitt been cancelled? I don’t even really pay attention to celebrity news but I see occasional things that he’s divorced, alcoholic, was abusive to his wife and children, children don’t want his last name, etc. Especially because his ex (Angelina Jolie) seems to be idolised for her beauty and humanitarian work. It’s not like people don’t like her!

Is Brad Pitt just too handsome? What’s the deal?

Because AJ has always been a bit of a loon & has public rows with her family nonstop whereas Brad is a bloody good actor who’s given away zillions on the quiet to rebuild New Orleans.

The poor children - none of the domestic abuse was ever proven, and the police didn’t press charges after they investigated.

Yep. Fairly or unfairly, she gives off the impression of being a potentially unreliable accuser. I’m old enough to remember when she made out with her brother and wore a pendant with Billy Bob Thornton’s blood in it. Before she remade her image by having/adopting all those kids, people thought she was a nutcase.

Also, I suspect Brad Pitt might be culturally prevalent enough that he falls into the same “too big to cancel” category as Michael Jackson and Tom Cruise. I mean, you can declare that you’re never going to watch any of his films ever again, but you’d be missing out on about thirty-five years of popular and/or culturally relevant cinema.

This is her statement. Doesn't mean it's not full of lies.

I dislike AJ, I think she's a psychopath, and I'm not convinced that Brad is a bad person.

Here's why:

AJ has been trouble her whole life. She was with an older boyfriend at 14 and was planning to go and live on the streets with him, so her mother let her move him in to keep her safe. Started her fast lifestyle early.

  • She used to do heroin. Heroin! That is some seriously fucked-up shit.
  • She was photographed snogging her brother.
  • She wore a vial of some bloke's blood around her neck.
  • She was on her third marriage while still in her thirties.
  • She helped herself to Jennifer Aniston's husband.
  • She helped herself to Laura Dern's fiance.

Some humanitarian. She's all about caring for other humans as long as you don't have the man she wants. Then you're toast. Amazing how she forgets the humanity of the women whose men she stole.

About Brad:

  • He was investigated by the FBI and not charged. AJ does not have the authority to decide whether he gets charged or not, so the above upthread about AJ's mercy is rubbish. Where children are involved, the authorities make the decision. Brad was later given 50/50 custody of the children, and AJ simply refused to comply. She complied only when threatened with prison by a judge. She is absolutely fucking awful.
  • NONE of Brad Pitt's many previous girlfriends, fiancees, or wives have ever said that he was abusive to them. His current girlfriend, who he's been with for some time now, doesn't seem to have any complaints either.

I'm not denying that Brad lost his temper on that plane. Children can push you to breaking point, and there are six of them, plus AJ refused to ever correct them or discipline them, according to reports from people who have worked for her. No regular bedtimes or anything boring and sensible like that. (By discipline I mean consequences, not physical discipline, before the nutters come for me.) Brad did want to being them up in the normal way, with regular bedtimes and meal times and being made to brush their teeth etc. He said on the plane, apparently, "Mummy is ruining this family!"

I think Brad was pushed to breaking point on that plane by the large amount of uncontrolled children and the fact that AJ would not work with him in instilling routines and consequences.

I do not think that losing his temper like that was OK. Of course it wasn't. But it seems to have been a one-off. AJ has never complained about him being like that at other times.

Since then, he has admitted that he had a problem with alcohol and weed, and he has got help. He has turned life around. But still there is no forgiveness for him, all these years later. One incident, and that's it, he virtually never sees his family again, despite Brad being given 50/50 access. AJ just ignored the court order. She carried out a sustained, textbook campaign of parental alienation, so bad that it's permanent, because of one incident, after which he sought treatment.

Brad Pitt has been around in Hollywood for a very long time, and no one he's ever dated, been engaged or married to, or has worked with, has had bad things to say about him. He made mistakes with drink and weed, and he certainly made a mistake when he lost it on that plane. But I see nothing to indicate that he should be cut off from his children forever more. If AJ was a good person and a good parent, she'd be facilitating their relationship with their dad, like Jennifer Garner does with Ben Affleck, despite his alcohol problems.

Anyone with an ounce of common sense can weigh all this up and see that it's more than likely that AJ, the complete weirdo, is behind all this, not Brad, who's never had problems with anyone but her.

She put her desire to have her children all to herself before their welfare, and as for Brad's pain at virtually never seeing his children again, well, who cares about his feelings, right?

She's a horrible, horrible person.

It is chilling that some women will bend over backwards to blame women for a man’s rampant abuse.

So what if he's divorced? He's an extremely well known actor, around for decades. I'm not a massive fan of his but I don't buy Jolie's story tbh.

From what I read years ago, the kids were extremely spoilt and allowed to run wild, apparently it was like a 'zoo' which was Jolie's insistence while Pitt tried and failed to do discipline. I can well believe this actually and can see how that escalated with the flight thing. They had a nanny each, didn't attend school or socialise with other kids apparently. No bedtime, dragged all round the world. Not great for traumatised adopted kids who needed familiarity, routine and security (pretty selfish IMO).They were prevented from seeing their grandparents on Pitt's side as well and his Mum died without seeing them.

I can imagine Jolie being an absolute nightmare (can remember the blood vials etc) and totally believe that she poisoned the kids against their Dad. She hated her own Dad as well so likely replicated that.

I wouldn’t say I’m a fan of either, I didn’t mind Pitt in some movies but have never liked Jolie. I find her completely weird, the blood vials, inappropriate kissing her brother in public, playing with knives in bed, there is very much a dark side to her.

i remember when she started buying all these kids she was adamant she didn’t want Brad to ever be called their father or want him to get custody if they ever broke up. I don’t know the woman but can imagine she would do anything she needed to get what she wants.

im not saying Pitt isnt a prick but I don’t think he’s the devil either.

I can only think it's because he has a charming public persona, and is Hollywood royalty - as pp said, 'too big to cancel'. The fact that he's never spoken on the assault one way or another has probably helped too - he's avoiding the Barbara Streisand effect. He must have a very good PR agency.

(I will admit, I think he's always been a stunningly attractive man at every stage of life, so for entirely shallow reasons, it's a little disappointing that he's actually a drunken, thuggish abuser. Oh well.)

why has he not been charged then? Lots of talk of this plane trip but all hearsay. I’m intrigued as to what charge is on him otherwise you could say this about a vast majority of scenarios which is just very silly

OtterlyAstounding · Yesterday 01:37

Also, while AJ seems like a very strange, not particularly ethical woman, nothing excuses the way BP behaved towards her and the children. She could be a horrible person, and it still would have no relevance to him terrorising them all on that plane.

@OtterlyAstounding I would be a bit careful of your post there. You should delete it if you can

Abusive is a bad thing, but being divorced is a problem too? Are we in 17th century?

Oh, get a hold of yourself. It's not rampant abuse. Read my post! It's very much NOT rampant. It was one incident where he was pushed beyond his limits and lost his temper. The entire point of my defence of him is that it was ONE temper loss and that none of his other many partners or colleagues or anyone in his life or industry have ever said this about him in four decades. Meanwhile, his accuser is a deeply disturbed person.

If my common sense is chilling to you, maybe get a blanket.

The fbi report after the plane staff reported him and the witness statements they gave is awful. But AJ seems pretty awful as a parent too if you believe
the blind items about her enabling the son who went to uni in South Korea and his escapades there. Those poor kids.

knitnerd90 · Yesterday 01:49
  1. they’ve been fighting in court and via the tabloids for a decade. People are numb to it. I enjoy celebrity gossip but sorting through all the third party leaks is more than I care to do all the time. They’re seen as using their children in a proxy war, right or wrong.

  2. AJ is perceived as unlikable for a dozen reasons. (And frankly I don’t think much of her child shopping.)

  3. being a white man is only the icing on the cake.

Redpaisley · Yesterday 01:59

Gerbills · 26/07/2026 23:55

This was reported to the FBI not by AJ, but my the plane staff. AJ did not want him charged because of the stress it may cause the children. How can you like him?

I don’t like either of them. Also, this text is hard to zoom to read.

I don’t find Angelina Jolie beautiful at all. Or, talented. And I don’t like her. I believe the accusations against Brad Pitt are probably vindictive and manipulative. But we are all the outside looking in.

Exactly. And AJ had no authority to say he wouldn't be charged. There were children involved, and the authorities had the say-so. If anything, I'd think they'd be dying to charge a rich Hollywood hunk like him to bring him down a peg or two, But the incident was thoroughly investigated and he was not charged with anything. I think her statement is exaggerated - although I'm not denying that he lost it. Many parents would be pushed to breaking point with six unruly children and no support from the other parent to instil boundaries and consequences.

personally i don't understand why the music of michael jackson is still played or any of those weird drug addicted celebs.
his music should be left to die.
the actions of the addicted shouldn't be glorified for the sake of the younger generation that need inspiration.

That's not the FBI report. That's AJ's statement. It might be exaggerated. Worth noting that Brad disputes the worst parts (although I don't think anyone, including him, disputes that he lost it).

I think the plane staff are required to report anyone causing a disturbance in the air, which is fair enough. Guess that's how some names get on no-fly lists.

Is it still played? I haven't heard it in shops or radio or anything.

Because he hasn’t been found guilty of anything?

Yes, there were allegations made by AJ.
Allegations aren’t proof. They clearly had a lot of conflict. The fact that the children are removing his name also doesn’t prove anything. It’s also pretty common for ex partners to alienate children against one parent. I’m not saying that happened, but we just don’t know

The idea that parental alienation happens a lot is a myth.

I think you need to go to Specsavers! I think AJ is an absolutely horrible person and probably a psychopath, but I can see that she has one of the most beautiful faces I've ever seen. She's perceived by most people to be physically incredibly beautiful. Shame about the inside, though.

Shiloh looks just like her, except with Brad's colouring and eyes, and she's stunning too.

Can’t help it. I just don’t find her attractive. She has a nice figure, though. At least as a young man, I’d say Brad Pitt was beautiful. Also, he can act.

Men do not go from a decent man to abusing their wife and kids overnight. Angelina Jolie has said the abuse began well before the plane abuse, and anyone with half a functioning brain cell would realise that.
