What are your best M&S Food recommendations to try?

There’s a thread going about must-buy foods from Waitrose and I have enjoyed trying all the delicious recommendations!

I thought I would start a similar one for M&S Food, as I’m sure I’m missing out on lots of good stuff.

My contribution: the Somerset butter with maple syrup in. It’s absolute heaven on a toasted bagel!

Trawled through the entire thread and can’t believe nobody mentioned:

Marmite Cheese Clouds!

Missymarple · 23/07/2026 23:08

Triple choc cookies - amazing
Cheese spread triangles - a nightmare to get hold of in my local one for some reason but so good.
Spinach and ricotta cannelloni - the only ready meal I eat.

I will say, though, their fake skips are vile these days. They used to be incredibly more-ish, not any more

The Mexican layered dip. All the loaded dips really but that's my favourite. The curried sweet potato and cauliflower soup.

Yes, love the shawarma loaded dip with pitta bread.

Other favourites:
They've just started burritos in my store, god send in the heatwave to just chuck it in the air fryer for 10 mins.
Balsamic pickled onions, delicious.
Pineapple tarts, absolute fav, have to hide them from the kids.

Leftrightleft · 23/07/2026 23:17

Supergreen salad pot
3 ingredient burgers

Really wish they did a better dairy free selection though. They cater heavily for gluten free but there's not much dairy free

menopausequeen · 23/07/2026 23:34

The spiced ice buns are delicious!
The whipped feta dip. Their pretzels

familyissues12345 · 23/07/2026 23:41

Combo mix crisps - great that they now to a multipack

Teacakes - rhubarb and lemon have been our faves

DS2 loves the 3 for £8 tapas pots

Fruit and veg is always good

Percy pigs!

The Big Daddy Peanut butter bar- dark chocolate, milk chocolate, peanut butter, peanuts and salted caramel.
Utterly delicious. Sadly !

Oh yes! Someone regifted me one as they don’t like sweet things (mad) and it was so amazingly good! All their chocolate is lovely.

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 23/07/2026 23:53

Truffle cheddar
Red pepper pita chips
The ridged crisps in ready salted - not the low fat ones though, they are horrible

PP mentioned the chicken Kiev dip. I saw a TikTok the other day where the person got those giant pasta shells and stuffed them with the dip mixed with Philadelphia, then baked them on a bed of passata type sauce. We did it (but kind of par boiled the pasta first) and it was delicious. She put the pasta in dry but did say it came out “crunchy”.

The M&S Food shop has been the best part of me having lots of hospital appointments recently.

I absolutely love their chicken and bacon Caesar wrap. It’s my go-to for a meal deal in any supermarket but the M&S one is miles better than anywhere else.

Last time I discovered the loaded salmon and dill dipper. Like a Dairylea dunker in style but properly tasty, little salty pretzels to dunk in the herby and lemony cream cheese with flaked salmon on top. I spent a small fortune as I bought quite a few to take home as well. Blush

Yellowcakestand · 23/07/2026 23:58

Lemon curd whitby buns (now renamed)
Bang bang chicken snack pot
Fizzy pig tails

Theyve stopped doing their canun dirty fries which were amazing
Also they used to do a percy pig butter biscuit

sandgrown · 24/07/2026 00:03

Colin cakes and apricot Danish pastries. Puglia Rosso wine x

fromgothtoboss · 24/07/2026 00:05

I like their burger sauce, frozen triple cook chips, spicy chicken and pepper pastry lattice thing from the lunch section, loaded cookies, yumnuts, pasta deal and Thai box

ToadRage · 24/07/2026 00:26

I have barely set foot on our local M&S food hall in 18 months but I previously liked their coffee swiss roll, their beef and horseradish sandwiches and at Christmas their brie and cranberry sandwiches.

JasmineMac · 24/07/2026 00:36

Surprised no one has mentioned the new choc cone ends! We're getting through several bags a week 😂
I'm not a huge fan of ready meals, but I like their slow cooked beef bourguignon and their corned beef hash (I have both with buttery mash). My husband and my daughter like their southern fried chicken, and I always buy my eggs from M&S (I love boiled eggs and soldiers).

SnowFrogJelly · 24/07/2026 01:03

Great wholemeal bread, fruit and veg, hot smoked salmon pasta salad and choccy trifle yum. And their gold tea bags are the best

SnowFrogJelly · 24/07/2026 01:04

I get the eggs too.. mixed size

The cappuccino teacakes (the marshmallow filled sort).

I was so excited when these were launched but could hardly taste any coffee flavour 🙁

Passwordsaremynemesis · 24/07/2026 02:20

You have no idea how jealous I am. I live in Australia and really miss M & S food! When I was back in the UK last year it was one of the first places I went.😀

duckingclueless · 24/07/2026 02:40

Burger sauce. It’s Big Mac. Nom.

thestraycathouse · 24/07/2026 06:22

We like the Moroccan hummous - it has some chick peas / onions on top and it just makes it a little less boring.

gingerbread and white chocolate cookies

redcurrant puffs

I like their Christmassy crisp bags - the one where you get all the different shapes in something like a maple bacon flavour

Their king prawn pasta salad in the lunch section

Lumpycat · 24/07/2026 06:41

I live five minutes from both a Lidl and an M&S. Tend to being a thrifty shopper but I have learned to get the following from M&S as quality is so much better:
Steaks
avocados
berries
apples
eggs

Am not a ready meal fan but we love their crab linguine and the lobster bisque in the glass jars.

LJaneE92 · 24/07/2026 06:54

The chocolate coated custard creams make all the other biscuits redundant!! So good!

RubyFatball · 24/07/2026 06:56

Kalamata Olive bread from the bakery
caesar topped dip
rosemary rye crackers
berry and nectarine fruit salad
burger sauce (in a glass bottle)
cans of cocktails (the paloma is excellent)
bottles of cocktails (see above)
the return of the chicken tikka sandwich (though it’s not actually the same as in the 90s)
Chicken bacon and sweetcorn pasta salad/prawn layered salad
jelly with raspberries
individual trifle pots

peepsypops · 24/07/2026 07:06

This thread is amazing! A huge M&S is my local shop which is both a blessing and a curse!

My current faves:
Mexican layered dip and the whipped feta dip
Olive oil crisps with truffle, salted or Serrano ham all delicious
The garlic baguette in the chilled section - it’s the fancier one with a navy label around £5 but so amazing
The wagyu steak pie
The Indian ready meal is decent (I usually cook my own rice and naan)
katsu curry coated peanuts
their crunchy peanut butter with a red label - my fave
the profiterole dessert is soooo good

oh gosh im hungry now!

GameOfJones · 24/07/2026 07:08

We do our normal weekly shop at Morrisons but I always do a fun top up shop on a Friday at M&S for some nice bits for the weekend so I feel like this is my specialist subject! 🤣

I totally agree about the Mexican layered dip and you need to pair the sweet potato tortilla chips with it.

The spicy pinchos are amazing but they really are spicy so you need to like that. They're Spanish olives stuffed with chorizo and manchego. A G&T and one of those and my weekend has started!

The pretzel baked crisps are delicious....all of the flavours but especially the spicy ones.

M&S walnut whips are far superior to the originals. They come in a box of three.

The pineapple, coconut and lime ice lollies taste like a frozen Piña Colada and they have no junk in them....just coconut milk and fruit juice.

The frozen garlic bread that they make with leftover fresh loaves from the bakery is amazing.

Chocolate coated bourbons.

Their frozen prawns really are the nicest I've had. About £7 for a bag but they're worth it.

I totally agree about the super nutty salad and and I also really like the butternut squash and goats cheese balsamic cous cous salad in the same section.

The 5 for £4 on mini cheeses is great. I love Stilton and Brie but DH doesn't so I can buy myself these and make myself a mini cheeseboard without anything going to waste.

At Easter their speckled eggs are better than mini eggs and the bakery does speckled eggs cookies with brown sugar and cornflakes and they are insanely good.

At Christmas the chocolate pine cones are the nicest chocolate dessert I've ever had!
